24:1 or 32:1

i've heard a lot of people say that they run a 32:1 mixture, is this a safe thing to do, i am new to banshee's and i dont want to lean it out too much and blow it up. right now i run it 24:1 like the manufacture sugests.

Welcome to the hq, I run 40:1 and run 50:1 for years with no problem. Run what your oil suggest on the back of the bottle.

A lot depends on the type of oil you're running as to which premix is best. Some oils don't require you to run as much oil in the mix as others do, it's always a good idea to see what the back of the bottle suggests, as mentioned above.

 

Right now, I run Maxima 927 @ 32:1

 

Typically, the 24:1 premix is only used during break in

I use golden spectro @ 42:1 like the bottle recomends. Thinking about trying castor 927 @ 40:1.

Different mixtures cause this-24:1 creates a thicker gas,therefore less gas gets through those little jets.40:1 is a thinner gas that flows through the jets faster.So the more the oil in your gas your actually leaning your motor down.Pick a good oil and mixture and stick with it.Also the less oil in your gas,the less your crank bearings get lubricated.You could also base your mixture on how hard you ride.Race-32:1 ,trail ride 40:1.

40:1 with Maxima Castor 927. One bottle per 5 gallons, keeps it simple.

32:1 for life! I've used Motul and Bellray H1R & SI7, same results but I find the SI7 burns cleaner.
