  1. On my 99, I modded my stock plate for a 4% timing advance. I thought it gave it great throttle response down low, but killed my top end power. I went back to 0 degrees advance, and might retard my timing for more top end power.
  2. I'm pressed for time, and cant get all the pics up I want yet. Click on my icon {black banshee} to see a small pic of the zilla. I will try to put up some proper pics soon.
  3. Sorry, I live in west central Illinois. I have to go to workand cant get the pics on now. I will try tomorrow to post pics. If I can't get them up, anyone intrested give me your e-mail and I will mail them.
  4. I'm wanting to trade or sell an 88 zilla. The motor was redone by Tudor's performance. It has a cool head, fmf fattie pipe, larger carb, k+n filter, holeshot tires with 75% tread left, powder coated frame and a-arms {grey}, and hubs and front bumper {blue}, new sprockets and chain {14/41}, new brake pads, and braded stainless brake lines. This is a clean, well maintained bike. The rear plastic {original} has a crack, which I can show in a pic. I would take $2700 cash or trade for a banshee or equal value {truck, nice tv, boat, aftermarket banshee parts} any fairtrade will be considered. I'm pressed for time right now and might not be able to check this post untill monday. I will try to post the pics now.
  5. Trying to get a thicker tranny oil for summer. Thinking 1 qt 20w50 oil, and 1 qt type f atf mixed would be good. Any reason this would not work. Thanks.
  6. All vacume carbs [cv] do not have or use accelerator pumps. Some mechinical carbs use accelerator pumps {large mikunis, keihn, and lectron, ect}. The tecate carb might work if it was rejeted leaner on all curcits, since that tecate drank way more fuel then that warrior will.
  7. Alba sells a kit that has all the bushings, ball joints, the 2+1 arms, braided brake lines, +2 inch tie rods, and choice of works, or elka dual rates for $850. Get a g force +4 axel for another $200 and for a total of roughly $1050 you can have a killer set up. Alot less than what hydrodynamics wants just for the front.
  8. The 4x1 is the 1 inch off set {wider} wheel. A good and cheap way to widen your shee by 2 inches.
  9. Take it easy there brokeback banshee rider. J/K
  10. I'm looking at a 89 250r myself. Paul turner race pipe, 38 mm carb, porting, lonestar +2 arms and +4 axel, and works triple rates with rezzies. To tell the truth, I'm sure the r handels better, but I have no idea how a 250r stacks up against a piped shee power wise.
  11. Every banshee that yamaha made came from the factory with the tors system.
  12. Just like most shees running fmf fattys like there needles in the 4th or even 5th position, most pro curcit shees like BIG pilots. I use a #30 in the summer and a #32.5 in the winter. You said that it ran better with just a 1/2 turn out on the air screws. Go bigger with the pilots and that bad stumble will disapear.
  13. I need to rebuild my 87. When I bought it the guy said it was a 409. Here are the #'s on the pistons. Right piston----up by the rings H65F3, in the center of piston 1.50MM, next line 513P6. Left piston----up by the rings H38B4, in the center of piston 1.50MM, next line 513P6. Don't really care if it's a 409, but these cylinders have an agressive port job and I hope they have some life left in them. So what size pistons are these? Thanks. EDIT- I guess these are stock bore +1.5 mm. If so is that .060 over?
  14. I use golden spectro @ 42:1 like the bottle recomends. Thinking about trying castor 927 @ 40:1.
  15. The 4 degree timing advance took 3 or 4 mph {on pavement} away from the top end on my 99. It's running a shaved head with 140 psi in both cylinders. With out the advance, my bike revs 500 rpms or more higher than with the advance. The benifit I got from the advance was out of the powerband {lower rpms}.
  16. I don't know much about cpi pipes other than they are real good top end pipes, so I would think you would be closer to 380 than 280. Try 360 mains to start, then maybe try the 4th clip on the needles. You need bigger pilots too, try #30. I've never jetted a cpi bike so this is a guess. If you ride above 1500 ft, go a little smaller on everything.
  17. You are running lean in the pilot jet curcit. You need bigger pilot jets. If you ride under 1500ft use #30 pilots. If you are over 1500ft try #27.5 pilots.
  18. At 650 feet, 40 degrees, gas mixed a 42:1, with pc pipes, reeds, and a pro flow {foam}, I run #30 pilots, 1+1/2 turns out on air screws, clip in the 3rd position, and 360 main jets. This setup is dialed in.
  19. This doesn't have anything to do with banshees, but I figured I'd mention it: Cannondales are built that way. Efi in front of the cylinder, exaust out the back of the cylinder.
  20. They took my old job literaly. Still a touchy subject with alot of poeple where I live. What about hard working people out of a job, just so a company can save money on the bottom line by hiring these fine folk from mexico.
