04BANSHEE7mmSTROKER Posted December 9, 2017 Report Posted December 9, 2017 On my 04 Banshee (with a 7mm stroker) What would be the "safe zone" for rpm's (where I shouldn't go below or above), what would be the absolute max rpm's I could hit (safely and unsafely), and, at about what rpm's would I start and end powerband? Remember, it has a 7mm stroker kit. Thank you for your help. Quote
Toybreaker Posted December 9, 2017 Report Posted December 9, 2017 Ported? Carbs? Pipes? all effect powerband Quote
spurdy Posted December 9, 2017 Report Posted December 9, 2017 Safe zone?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
JTmachining Posted December 9, 2017 Report Posted December 9, 2017 No such thing. There is a friend zone tho Quote
locogato11283 Posted December 9, 2017 Report Posted December 9, 2017 The safest RPM for any motor is 0. If you don't run it, you won't have issues. Quote
specialblend07 Posted December 9, 2017 Report Posted December 9, 2017 And remember guys, it has a 7mm stroker. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
n2otoofast4u Posted December 9, 2017 Report Posted December 9, 2017 Safe zone? Is that like a women shelter, or like a first date 3rd base swing? Quote
Keno Posted December 9, 2017 Report Posted December 9, 2017 Common sense says don't go below 0 rpm or above 12K rpm I'm assuming he is talking about mean piston speed which increases a stroke increases. From the 2 stroke tuners handbook, the normal max MPS is around 4000 ft/minute MPS=.166*stroke (inches)*RPM which puts the normal max rpm for a +7mm around 10,500. BUT, Not very many people get on here talking about snapping rods and over that RPM you are in over-rev and should shift anyways. Basically don't be a dumbass and rev it to 12K for 5 minutes at a time. Quote
spurdy Posted December 10, 2017 Report Posted December 10, 2017 I'm going with zero rpm for safe. Seems most applicable to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
trickedcarbine Posted December 10, 2017 Report Posted December 10, 2017 Pipes, porting, compression, timing, and stroke all play a factor in what the RPM will be. Just let it eat and make sure you're feeding it enough fuel. Quote
