  1. Rons flywheels are beautiful!!!! The pics I have seen amaze me. Mine looks like shit compared to what he can do. If I had one of his I would have to find a way to run my banshee without a stator cover so I could show it off.
  2. I think the tooling particularly the fixturing is the key. I could lighten them in my manual lathe, I just need to make a taper to lock it on to. I however don't know how much to take off. I think mine has around .040 or so off of the front and back. You have to be careful as the flywheel is somewhat hardened, so you would need to use some good carbide, and if you drop it or strike it suddenly (If it flys out of the chuck some how for example) it can be degaussed. Once degaussed, you have to buy a new fly wheel.
  3. LOL!!! I loved the wiping my ass with a snow cone line.... OMG.. I think I've been there.
  4. You got my address already, just wrap it up now
  5. Welcome back reas!!
  6. The only way I know of if you really can't tell is.....A spark test. Grind on it, and if the sparks are white...Ti. I don't think Ti is a ferrous metal, so a magnet wouldn't stick to it if it isn't.
  7. HAPPY BIRFDAY NYUK!!!!! You're gonna out grow that PW soon, better start asking for something bigger.
  8. I got some questions to ask you. Your In Box is full. Empty it. Please.
  9. Sorry I forgot about this NYUK!!!!!!! I got some pegs for now. As soon as I get my billet pegs built, and in production I'll give you a holler. For now, I need them so I can at least try to start this pig.
  10. LazerStar has some replacement lights that will work with your stock stator. Spendy though.
  11. Lucky lucky lucky. I envy you guys that live less than an hour from the dunes. I have at least a 2.5 and up to almost 4 hours. Its all worth it though.
  12. SAND!!! I hate rocks and mud. I've put too much into this bike to have it peppered with gravel and woodland creatures n shit. If the local track will let me, eventually it will me asphalt too.
  13. Naw, Nyuks not 11. He's got one of the fastest god damn banshee's I've ever seen video of.
  14. HAPPY BIRTHDAY NYUK!!! HOPE YOU GOT A NEW BICYCLE OR SOMETHING!!!!!
  15. You will need new arms. The ball joints have been welded in at the factory. I think its a clever marketing ploy by Yamaha. Hell even the little rubber boots can't be bought.
  16. There should be two little "bosses" that are used to connect the two carbs together. On the left carb it will be directly in line with the choke lever. On the right carb, it will be facing the left carb. If not in place it will cause the right carb to run very lean.
  17. LOL Trust me, it doesn't sound stupid. I had a blister on my right foot for a week and a half once because of that.
  18. WELCOME!!! Remember that at one point every single person on these forums was where you are. You will catch on fast, and there are some very knowledgeable people here.
  19. Gary, I'm terrified of those LT-80's. I'd have to bring some extra underwear so I wouldn't have to shovel my "soiled" underwear out. THX, Please email me some pics!!!! Lefty, Since you are bringing on all challengers, I will get working on a tombstone for you. It will read: "Here (somewhere) lies Lefty. We lost him under a 60ft wall of sand, Nov 14th 2003. Reward for return."
  20. Exactly!!! And also remember that they are your parts, so don't be afraid to tell them what YOU want. Color, where to mask ect. I have NEVER been to the same powder coater twice. I'm never happy enough to actually go back for another screwing. They either have over charged me or screwed up my parts after telling me "Well take care of it. Just drop it off".
  21. I think theres a few people here that WOULD jump it just to prove that it could be done
  22. At my shop we have a few different grades of hammers. We have the 4 oz ballast, a 48 oz ballast, a small ball peen, and a large ball peen, then we have the Ford wrench (a 8+lb home made copper hammer) and then we have the Harley wrench (a 15lb home made brass hammer) Usually I end up using the Harley wrench on stuff thats seized or rusted up.
  23. LOL I appreciate the offers!!!! But, other than the cash flow problem, I'm buried up to my ass in work that needs to go out yesterday. 3 of 5 purchase orders were due this last friday, and the other 2 are due this friday. I have delivered 0. I have another customer that just struck a deal to distribute his product in Korea, and that means that I'm going to get a huge shipment of material next week. The timing is way off for me. I also found out that my aunt died today, (they unplugged her) I only met her once, but my dad and I are taking a road trip to some dust blown city in NV on friday. My wife said "Can you make it there on $65.00?" HAHA no.... So, its going on the credit cards... I'll be there in spirit as Jethro has a couple of my parts on his bike.
  24. Thats cool!!! I've worked some of this out at work with a calculator, and just had formulas for a couple things. This thing kicks ass!!!!
  25. I wish I was going. I have access to FREE FIREWOOD!!! All I can take. I have a pile next to my house, and one at my shop, and its growing everyday. why can't you go ? this is unacceptable, there is no excuse for this truancy. we need everyone present possible. even if you don't have a bike running. we can all take turns dragging you around the dunes with the slead we build with all the wood everyone brings. just bring you gear. LOL! That would kick ass to make a tobagan out of fire wood. I won't have the cash to get there this year. I would say there is a great chance that I can make it next year though when the wife has a steady job, and I don't have 3 credit card payments
