  1. I can't count the times I've done something semi major to my banshee, throw it all back together to encounter a problem that had nothing to do with what I was just tinkering with. I think the banshee's have gremlins or gnomes breakin shit when you aren't looking. Frusterating. More frusterating that being married even.
  2. Had something similar happen to the wifes bike when she had it. We had ridden to the far east end of St Anthonys from Egin lakes, when we noticed her 2:1 came off. We had no choice other than put the filter back on and ride back to camp. No problems ever on that bike. Just lucky I guess.
  3. LOL Feel free!!! No inherent copyrights on that stuff.
  4. LOL We need to start the BHQ Cooking Club. If I get a Dutch Oven for X-Mas I guess I'll throw something in.
  5. I liked the buy it now price of $50k. Its cool to see stuff like this out there letting the crooks know people are teaching other people how to spot these scams. I didn't know about the wire transfer thing. Thats a great place to start!!!
  6. kool thats not bad for havin a couple hundred hours on her. looks like the fresh K&N for every ride helped out........ You clean your air cleaner before every ride too eh??? After 4 years I had my jugs ported, and the people that did it said the pistons looked great, and the cylinders still had some of the original cross hatch patterns. Nothing like preventative maintanence to save you a headache and a much bigger bill down the road.
  7. LOL who's bike was that??? I bet that heavy pos had a hell of a time getting out of there. Classic pic.
  8. WTF?? You got some Kenny G and some Gordon Lightfoot too?? LOL J/K
  9. I get the chicken fried STEAK!!!! I don't usually eat anything fried however. BUT when I do, its usually steak, with the gravy and the 'taterz, and green beans. mmmm..... I bet I could eat both at the same time though.
  10. Anything by these bands: Pantera God Smack Slip Knot Tap Root Drowning Pool Disturbed Linkin Park Spine Shank MudVayne Static-X Black Label Society
  11. This may have been mentioned, but I good quality set of tools. Sockets, ratchet, torque wrench, plyers, screwdrivers, ect. IN METRIC. I got my banshee, and 3 days later went and dropped $100 or so on a half ways decent tool kit that had both metric and SAE. I would recommend the best quality tools possible, money permitting of course. **EDIT** Its #6 on Wheatchex's post. But let me add METRIC to it.
  12. Good... Hope they work out for you. That ding scared me, but if it isn't that bad, go for it!!!
  13. Amen. Mine too.
  14. Sand Mountain Utah is in the Little Sahara park. I think its rideable to 600 ft, but continues on at one point to almost 800ft of rock trees ect. Its SOMEWHERE around that high. Its like being in an airplane when you take pics of the campgrounds. It also has 3 levels of riding. On the northernt most side, the Freeway Side, its relatively easy to go up. You'll find stock banshees, 4 strokes, and some piped banshees going up this. In the middle is called The Face, its alot steeper. This is where you will find Larry Short in his turboed GIXXER mini sand rails running 88mph up this thing. Piped banshees mostly and the tricked out drag quads. Serious racers mostly Then on the southern most side is called The Shoots, or if you've been around a while they are sometimes called The Fingers. 3 trails going up the side of this thing. I've gone down it from a trail from the top, but never up it. When I came down it, I had all brakes locked, and I swear I was sliding down this thing at 20mph. If you go up, you need to make sure you can make it. If you get stuck, there is about an %80 percent chance you're going to roll down it before you ever get turned around.
  15. I no likey the snow. I like it better if its 110 than -10. For the most part the winter isn't all that bad, its just the warming and deicing of my truck in the morning that takes 20 minutes on the especially cold mornings after a lake effect snow and east winds from WYOMING!!!! Then at the shop its closer to the canyon than my house is, so I get 2-3 foot snow drifts that I have to plow so I can get in and out of my shop doors. At least in the summer if I want to cool down at the dunes, I can just put on some shorts, or go for a ride or something. In the winter I'm never warm enough. I give "winter" a 3 out of 10 rating.
  16. Family members house (/me kicks rock ) I'd love to be able to hit the dunes over the holidays.
  17. Thanks for the offer, I am still not 100% sure what exactly it is, I am guessin its thinly sliced and dried. Is it chewy of crunchy? One of these days when I got a bit more cash I am gonna have to go to the US for a long holiday, head down to philly for a cheese steak at chinks, head over to glamis and hire a bike for a spot of duneing then head over to one of the gun shops/ranges and take a desert eagle for a test run. Stuff seeing the white house and that shit gotta have my priorities straight also NYUK is the man - nuff said road trip !!! if you do come out give a notice, well throw down the welcome party I'll bring an extra 1000 rounds of .44 mags and my DE if I'm invited.
  18. I would pass on them. Just as the others have said. If that *ding* in the pictures is what he's talking about being *quarter sized* it will affect performance. The belly of the pipe plays the role of the expansion chamber. Its what allows the gasses to expand and cool, creating a lower pressure in that portion of the pipe relative to the pressure in the crank case, and allowing the scavenging process to begin.
  19. I've always liked Nyuk. When he gets on a wise ass kick, its even better. He's informative, and helpful. Contrary to GayFresh, I think Nyuk should me member of the month.
  20. I did see something a while ago that said (Maybe it was the owners manual....I know I'm a bad Banshee owner ) put 2 table spoons of premix down the plug holes. The only thing I'm afraid of doing is 1) Like Fixit said, washing the oil off of any bearing surfaces or ring surfaces, and 2) like B370 said, getting it all out so it isn't flooded when I start kicking it over. I think the sacrificial thing might work too. I will throw together a make shift shrine to the 2 Stroke Gods, and see what happens. THANKS!!!
  21. ROFL!!! Dude that's creepy I just got amnesia/deja vu.... I would have sworn I had forgotten about all this before.
  22. Thats the best way to do it. BUT if you don't want to run a wheelie bar you either have to extend the front end to get the unsprung weight up to keep you upright, or extend the swingarm. When you extend the swingarm, you change the CG of your banshee, pushing the CG forward, which reduces the amount of weight on the back tires, unless you can loft the front end some, which is harder since you just moved the CG forward. If you extend your swingarm for dune/drag I would go +4 since if you go +6 it can cause some headaches with the chain. You have to run the chain loose enough so that when you jump, it can tighten without breaking or ruining your sprockets or bearings, but it has to be tight enough that it doesn't fall off when you aren't jumping. My recommendation is +4 for Dune/Drag, and +6 and above for Drag Only. If you run a wheelie bar, -2.
  23. Just clicked to what you ment, Kukabara is an Aussie Bird, I am In NZ, we are close to aussie but a diffrent country. Aussie got all them kangroos, crocs, snakes and spiders as big as ya head ( lots nasty stuff ) All we got is bloody Kiwis and Tuatara LOL I thought they were basically the same place. I didn't do too good in Geometry. Spiders as big as my head???? OMG What the hell do you kill them with? A damn rifle? My house would look like a block of Swiss Cheese!!!! "Kukabera sits on the old gum tree....."
  24. My engine might me getting started here in the coming days/week, but its sat for over a year now. I have periodically rolled it over by hand and sprayed WD-40 down the plug holes, and have kept paper towels over the exhaust and intakes as well. Is there anything I should do or need to do before I try to get this thing running again??
