  1. Thats what I plan on doing when I eventually build aluminum tie rods. I'll have to make an insert with the correct taper however, and I don't know if you can source that from any place imparticular. If Heim ends are good enough for suspension in buggies and after market a arms, I think they'll work fine for a tie rod.
  2. 200 210 and 220 mains come with the bike as far as I know. If it won't idle, but will idle if you touch the throttle, you need to go up one size on the PILOT jet. $7.00 each or so for the stock Mikuni carb, from a Yamaha dealer only. Anywhere else for any other carb they are about $2.00 When you say "gap it" whatchoo talkin bout?
  3. Just from what I've seen, the marketing geniouses Yamaha have the only non replaceable ball joint. Like Boon said, you should just be able to screw it out, screw a new one back in tighten the lock nut and get it ready for alignment.
  4. I saw a Crankenstein motor at Little Sahara many years ago that was setup that way. It was a snowmobile topend grafted onto a Banshee tranny. It was fast! THOSE ARE SICK!!!! If you have the $$$ to buy one of those I don't think you're gonna care if your pods are inches from the sand.
  5. I have to take mine apart about twice per month to clean all the shit out of it so it will at least work.
  6. I adjust mine by the seat of the pants. Too stiff, and my kidneys ache to the point I can't breathe. Too soft and I get motion sick. It would be great to actually adjust them to performance rather than if I'm not gonna be able to piss or if I'm gonna throw up.
  7. LMFAO!!! Six inches closer to God!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA That sounds to have a couple different connotations.
  8. The first time I had a frame coated, it was a yellow to purple fade with a layer of clear. With some parts covered in the flash chrome covered in translucent blue and clear the total bill was around $350. Best powder coat job I have ever seen. Looked like glass, and it never marred or chipped. The one I just got was $150. Total shit job. It nicks very easily, and is thick and thin in some spots. I got a quote right after from a guy that would burn off the old powder, and recoat for $135. If it was just a sand blast and powder it was $105. I've seen his work and its perfect.
  9. I agree. Shooter, Chuck, NYUK, and uh....then Jethro I guess.
  10. Like NYUK said, but also notice its CASE INDUCTED which is kinda cool I think, and it appears to have the jugs on "backwards" from the typical engine, except for the now dead Cannondale, but it was a 4 stroke, so it doesn't even matter really. Personally I think case inducted, with the exhaust shooting towards the rear rather than a ram horn type of exhaust, would prove to be more efficient. The only problem with the carbs on the case is they are inches from the ground, rocks, sand ect, and if you just turned the jugs around they carbs would be into your radiator. Just thought I'd elaborate.
  11. LOL I loved the part about you threatening to run him over.
  12. LOL A piece of 1 3/8 chromoly tubing should pass right though the bearings. Also I hope, after all this waiting and anticipation to get your Durablue, that it holds up.
  13. I haven't got the full version of ATV Offroad Fury 2. Just the demo right now. So far I have won 2 races out of the 30 times I've played it. ITS JUST LIKE REAL LIFE!!!! Even if I did have it, my dial up comes in at around 46k-48k, so I'm not exactly burning up my phone line here.
  14. I'm going to get the 21" mohawks from RMATV this week I hope. I also will be running 21" Extreme rears, but for now 20" Haulers. Meat: Your finger is really crooked.
  15. LOL I'd take them out of the box you get them in, and put them in a different box, like a candy box. MUHAHAHAHAHAHA
  16. LOL so sometimes it works, and other times it just leaks oil everywhere???
  17. Well, it depends on your points of reference. From the center of the pivot to the center of the axle is going to be around 19.5 inches. The total length is going to be more. For example the total over all length of one of my stock swingarms is going to be right around 22.750 from the front of the pivot to the back of the pinch bolt tubes welded onto the carrier.
  18. LOL!!! I swear once my wife farted in my truck and rattled the front license plate.
  19. For some reason I remember something about the transfers, and the shape of the exhaust port is really important on the porting side of things. I saw a set of transfers that were taken all the way to the sleeve.
  20. I put a 2:1 air cleaner and an outerwear on mine. At the same time I shaved the head too, and bumped the jets from 210 to 250. About $100 or so. For $50 or less..... maybe the air cleaner..... You can get the head shaved for less than $50. advance your timing by slotting the stator plate, free if you do it yourself. Lighten the fly wheel was around $25 for mine.
  21. As long as its not the same kind Jethro got Welded crooked so it tossed his chain n shit.
  22. Wet sand with the WD-40 and 600 grit or so on things that can reach my buffing wheels, but I might try some facer buffs + white rouge to get in there this time.
  23. The trick is to balance a nose heavy quad. The easiest place for me to practice is on a sand hill. Also, start out slow to get the feel of the balance point, then try shifting or try one at a higher speed.
  24. I agree. I can't stand the shit that lives in the ocean. Watch enough discovery channel, and you'll be convinced something is gonna eat you sooner or later.
