How Much Did You Spend
Cotton eyed Joe replied to verdoneracing's topic in General Banshee Discussion
My most expensive mod over all is rebuilding the whole thing over the last year. The most expensive item on there that I bought is the Toomey T-5's. Don't know if I'm going to keep them. If I have money, no. I just might get some CPI. The most expensive item on there that I fabricated is the swing arm and carrier. -
Can't we all just get along and have some dip? Its almost Christmas!!!!

3 Screws And 20 Staples In My Knee
Cotton eyed Joe replied to Killer Boots Man's topic in General Banshee Discussion
When I wrecked I had internal brusing to the point it was tough to drive my truck. I could literally feel my guts. Drinking cold water was uncomfortable. My legs were blue and black and swollen from just below the knee to about 1/2 way up my thighs. I had sand rash on the front and back of my body, and I knocked a few ribs around so it was hard to breathe as well. I could barlely swallow food, and I couldn't turn my head to the right due to a pulled muscle. I couldn't go to the gym, I could barely work, I couldn't ride, so I was online, and played GTA: Vice City a whole lot in between sleeping and taking Advil 4 at a time. It went on like this for about 2 months. Playstation 2 saved my life. -
Its me He took it at my shop one day when he was out here. Food is my name and Stan is my problem.

anytime theres women with kids, the grub is rockin You damn right about that one. AND the cool thing is, there is virtually no difference between a grown man and a kid. Instead of whining and complaining and shitting our pants, we whine, complain and buy shit thats loud and goes fast. -
PICS??? That would make an awsome desktop.

What Size Carbs Will Give Me The Best Bang For $
Cotton eyed Joe replied to bigtreads's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
The thing about getting bigger carbs is if you aren't exactly set up for it, you can over carburate your engine, which will lead to a narrower, peaker powerband. -
It feels like a damn brain freeze. I havent had a Slurpee in months though. I did a bit more trig today than most days. I think I hurt something in the process.

thats just what my point is Sand, ThankYou..... Now I have a question. Do you mean be on all 4 wheels in 6th, then think "Hey I'mma pull a wheelie now" and just do it?? Or do you mean ride a wheelie from 1st or 2nd TO 6th? or both? Neither? I have a headache. I'm going to bed.

To me that looks like From Nov1 to April 30. March 4th-8th is the date of the ride right? -
I have a buddy that started out in 1st with a wheelie, and then he rolled it in 5th. With my gearing I can usually pull the fronts in 4th but its a bitch to do. I'm geared lower than most though at 13/44 and 20" 8 paddle haulers. I haven't seen any bike around here that has pulled the tires past 4th gear, but usually the big boy bikes are at the base of the mountian lined up to drag, not out dicking around. I don't doubt that someone somewhere (even here) has the set up to do it though. Ya never know!!! Hell once I pulled the front wheels on a 3rd gear start on some medium pack dirt at The Knolls sand dunes/riding area and buried the grab bar. Don't know how I managed that one.

I Have A Bent A Arm.
Cotton eyed Joe replied to Cotton eyed Joe's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Oh I didn't mention that I got stock A arms off of Ebay for $95 in march of this year. Basically I'm clamping it down with the pivot tube and pressing the rest of the a arm forward with hydraulics. Its either going to work or it isn't. It only needs to move about .250" I am one happy SOB that I have a machine shop right now. Hell when I bought my ATV stand last weekend I needed a machine shop to get the damn thing working right. I didn't suspect the frame either because when I got it I sat it on the floor, and it rocked about .125 or so, my other frame that got trashed moves .500 or more. I'm gonna have a serious project on my hands the next time that thing comes out of storage -
HOLY SHIT!! Your computer looks like a space ship. Yeah I didn't think of that Walt. I don't make too many molds at my shop. You got to have your "die" smaller than what you want the finished product. You could always make a "negative" of the bottom side of the plastics, then lay the "positive" on the top side of that. Don't know what you could use for a negative though. B370's idea is less labor intensive.

LOL! Walt, bring some painting suits with fresh air systems and a compressor that runs on 12v. Or if anyone else has HazMat gear available, bring it. The dunes I usually go to have 'facilities' right there. Or if not, about 10 minutes away at a Kentucky Fried Chicken. I'll just starve myself for about 3 days before I leave, that ought to do it. For real, I'll just plan on driving to Baker to leave a present at the nearest gas station. Maybe after 4 days of that they will complain enough to the DWR to plant some shitters out there. -
I Have A Bent A Arm.
Cotton eyed Joe replied to Cotton eyed Joe's topic in General Banshee Discussion
We figured out how were going to fix whats wrong. The a arm is a little tweaked. Both by protractor and measurements and some geometry/trig its bent around 2-3 degrees towards the rear using the pivot point as a reference. At a round about measurement of 7" from the center of the pivot, every 1 degree is .122". Its out around .250-.300. What we are going to do is this: We are going to make some blocks with holes in them the same size as the inner diameter of the pivot, and weld them to our welding table. Gonna take all the guts out of the pivot and put in a shaft about -.001 smaller than the ID of the pivot, and put it through the holes in the blocks on the welding table. Then weld another block about 3 inches behind the a arm, near the end where it starts to radius. Then we are going to stick a nylon block between the a arm and our PortaPower. With the PortaPower pushing on the steel block, and the nylon block it should push that thing right where we want it. We hope to hit it, but I guess we'll see. -
Thats what I was thinking. Just use your old plastics for a mold, and I think you could just spray some mold release shit on the plastics before you start laying 'glass. I've never used fiberglass before. I saw it used once by a neighbor about 14 years ago with horrific results. He had a trike that my dad helped him fab, and then one sunday afternoon they (not my dad, but the burned out neighbors) put up sheets of plywood, and then fiberglasses this "shell" over the top of it. Then they painted it Krylon Blue. It looke like a big blue Comanche helicopter with a Volkswagon engine, and a really shitty interior.

I Have A Bent A Arm.
Cotton eyed Joe replied to Cotton eyed Joe's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I'm gonna take some time today and do a couple of things: I'm going to see if I can weasel a protractor or a small square in the upper a arms on both sides to see how far one is out compared to another in relation to the mounting/pivot tube, and the rear tube. (the one that is closest to 90 degrees) We looked at the knuckle, but we can't really tell if its tweaked at all, and there is a chance it got bent when I wrecked, but most of the damage i.e. my taco shaped rim and busted a-arms were on the RIGHT side, not the left. The left side was mostly ok. (yeah it was a 1 wheel verticle landing) I am also going to take a look at the shock mount, and a arm mounts, to see if they are tweaked a little. Something else I am planning on measuring with a protractor is the angle in relation to the bottom a arm (across both tubes) to the front portion of the upper a arm on both sides. When I received the frame from K&K, I went over it, and saw no cracks in the paint anywhere. It had the usual wear and tear, but I didn't really see any stress marks anywhere. I checked it again after I scrubbed it just before I sent it to powder coat. I spun my knuckles, and axle between dead centers on my grinder after I disassembled my banshee last year, and they weren't out at all, so I don't think my spindle is the problem. I kinda wish I would have mocked this thing up before I sent everything to chrome. The damn chrome on the a arms was more than the a arms themselves -

The Dumont Hilton is right across the street Stan, they have 5 star dining and valet parking for your banshee LMFAO!!!! No really....Just curious if I got to bring a 5 gallon bucket to piss in or if I have to go search for that "perfect" dune to desecrate. -
Well, I got my banshee on the shop floor today. Only to find that my upper left a-arm is sorta bent. Its like its pushed to the rear. I noticed when I first put it on that the left shock would barely clear, around .100", while the other side clears by about .375" After putting the front tires on and setting it on the floor, it leans in about 3 degrees. Its not like a Banshee-X custom camber -15 degree set up. What I was wondering is: Is this going to affect my handling? Is it just going to corner like a mofo to the right, and just regular ol handling to the left? Is there a chance its going to put enough pressure on my spindle to fatigue it? Is there anyway I can straighten it? They are chromed, so I really don't want to apply heat or hammer. I was thinking of wrapping it in a towel real thick like, and using my 3" ratcheting strap or something to "persuade" it forward about .250" or so. Should I just leave it alone? I plan on fabbing a-arms in the near future anyway, so I don't want to buy anything else unless I have to.

What kind of facilities to they have there?? What I mean is, running water? Flushing shitters? How close is the nearest Gas station/convenience store? Entry fee to the park? Any unusual requirements like St. Anthony has gotten such as a 9" x 9" red flag on a pole no less that 8 feet from the ground? -

when you buy the disk your supposed to keep it updated, helps to prevent them in the first place. I have a feeling he got some malicious adware program instead of winMX.. Where did you DL the file from? I'm thinking..... http://www.fatchicksinpartyhats.com Site not entirely safe for work for those of you that care. Its still a funny site though.
