  1. do a search for FAST racing clutch. thatswhat i would go with. theres a review on it in this forum prolly just down the page a little.
  2. i agree. when we first started hillclimbing we tested tons of different gearing and tire combos. finally you get to where you need to be to run fast. after while you can kinda look at a hill and tell what youll need to be geared at. theres also a lot more to gearing than just porting. rider weight, swingarm length, tires, and terrain all play important roles in gearing. i would say that for a while its gonna be a test and tune affair.
  3. go with gorr. for 250 bucks you will not be disappointed. do a search here on him. theres quite a bit of info about it.
  4. i would check www.pro-flo.com. they have the best prices i think. i would go with keihins. i dont know too many ppl that run mikuni. most ppl om here run keihin and if you have a jetting problem more people will be able to help you out im sure if you had the keihins.
  5. DMC, just saw this and also got your pm. the cubs seem to be a very quick cylinder with very little porting done to them. however, if you are lookin to be able to ride mx and trails i would go for something else. my cubs start makin power around 6000rpm or so id guess and keep pulling forever. this is great for drag setups but its not all that great for the trails. if you are wanting something thats quick yet still be able to trail ride it i would go for some type of woods or mx porting. with a woods or mx port and 33 or 35mm pwk and t5's or rockets, cpi or other youll have a screamin ass motor with more bottom end than what the cubs will have. for the amount you would spend on the cubs alone you can have your cylinders ported, bored etc and buy carbs and possibly new pipes if you want. thats the route i would take if building a motor for a variety of different types of riding.
  6. flywheel puller. paid 11 bucks for mine at the dealership. it wokrs for the cr500, cr250 and banshee that i know of. like 23champ said, you need to get that nut off with a 17mm impact first. you can prolly get a buddy to hold the flywheel and that should be enough to get it spun off.
  7. you figure out what you wanna do and let me know. ill do the cutting and welding for you at a very reasonable price. ive done quite a few sets of double wide peds. it wouldnt take much to cut them and move them just about anywhere you wanted to go with them. hit me up with a pm if u want.
  8. reed rides a bike. why u wanna sport that on a quad?
  9. uh oh wait till brooke sees this one...
  10. happy birthday ron!! you guys dont know how cool this guy is until youve hung out with him. that saturday night at LS was fun as hell all sittin around bullshittin at LED's campsite. we def gotta do that again...
  11. had a guy offer me 875 shipped and ran with it...sorry to anyone who wanted it but that offer was too good.
  12. jeff, you need to join the cool club and ditch that wack ass banshee. i traded my silver stroker banshee last night for a 100% stock 2001 400 ex straight across. that dude got robbed. he didnt even know hat he had...
  13. whats that supposed to mean? the tranny is fine on it. shifts up and down real smooth as a matter of fact. i dont sell junk.
  14. pull the bowls off the carbsand see what your jetting is. sounds like your pilot is too rich. to get the best answer here we need to know your jetting as it sits right now.
  15. pull the side cover and check the wires on the stator. when i first got my silver banshee it would run fine for a while then just die. sometimes itd start and other times it wouldnt. at least check it and if thats not it you can cross it off the list.
  16. noss head uses stock studs. put the copper washer on then the acorn nut. PD heads use aftermarket studs with ugly factory nuts on top. noss head looks and functions better i think. domes are the same.
  17. good riddance to it. they are slow pieces of shit. when you guys gonna learn that the new 400ex is king...
  18. ill check nest time i delete something. i have never noticed before if i can leave a deal there sayin it has been deleted or not. i know when i move a post itll let me but ill see next time. otherwise, just assume that hes a panzy and i deleted it.
  19. i dont think they do much. i think they are better used when you have big carbs with a stock intake to clear the clutch arm. otherwise you wont notice anything with them.
  20. i usually just kick mine if it fouls plugs its too rich. when does it foul them? when its idling or at wide open throttle? if its hard starting you might need to be a little richer on your pilot jet. give us some more info.
  21. rick cairo of atchison kansas did the porting. hes pretty well known with a lot of guys that run down at LS in OK. its pretty much a drag port but could be duner as well. its def not a trail port. its got a lot of power that will run with the best of them.
  22. the uppers will bolt right on, the lower arm would have to be modified, or youd have to modify the frame. i messed with it for a while on my cr500 banshee and decided that it wasnt worth it.
