same kind of trails i ride... my 4mm has seen the trails once and thats it. i dont ride it in the trails. it only sees the hillclimbs and thats it. my 450 is what i ride in the trails. way back when i had a stock banshee i rode it in the trails but thats been several years ago. the last banshee i rode in the trails was my bros when he had the woods ported gorr cylinders. you are 100% about rider. a skilled rider can ride anything anywhere for the most part. i consider myself to be a very highly skilled rider. thats why i take my stock 450 and beat a lot of modified banshees and whatever else. its because i know how to ride it. its obvious that that you have some skill to be able to ride your cubs in the trails because you know the average trail rider prolly wouldnt be able to do that. very true. there are so many other factors to this its not even funny. alot of ppl think porting will solve their problems but it wont. thats no shit.. you arent crazy. if youve got tons of low end and are running a +4 in the trails you are gonna be spinning your ass off. besides id rather be stock length in the trails anyway.. hahaha stan i wanna be there to get that video. better buy one of them huge prm bumpers so you dont destroy the front of your banshee when you come into the trails in second doin a buck ten... -

i dont doubt at all that you could with some work and skill set the cubs up for trail riding. thats not at all what ive been saying. but for the average joe who wants to build a trail motor its not reasonable to drop 1200 bucks or so on cheetah cubs, then detune them so that they are more trail friendly. even if they dont detune them like you said you were in 4th. how many times in trails do you see higher than 4th gear? cubs were obviously designed to be run damn near wide open all the time, thats what most ppl buy them for. you kept up because for one im assuming you have a higher riding skill level than most. second, gearing down. third, im assuming you mean higher compression for more bottom end? you got me on jetting a carb because its obvious from all my shitty running bikes i cant do that, or so some others here have said... i never said they were pieces of shit. i just think they are better suited for duning and dragging. it seems from what youve said here that you run all sorts of different terrain. most people dont. rarely does a person ride mx, dunes, trails and drag all with the same bike. if you want to accomplish all those things then maybe you should try a set of cubs. if i had never ridden a cub setup i wouldnt even bother with posting in here. but since i have a cub motor sitting on my shop floor that was in my bike for a week i feel that i have more of an experience with it than most if not everyone on this site. i rode the shit out of my brothers gorr woods ported bike and there is a night and day difference between my cub motor and his. and still i think for the average trail rider who doesnt do any dragging, duning or whatever else its much more justifiable to spend 250 bucks on a woods port that not only will work great in the trails, but if geared properly can be used for dragging as well. you are right i have never ridden your setup but in the trails i want as much bottom end as i can get and im sure that your cub motor doesnt have the rpm range that i and most people would be looking for in a good trail motor. -
hott needs that shirt that says, "slapahoe"...

i have the same problem with my stock cylinders and the same when i put the cheetah cub motor in my bike. seems like the engine sits a little to the left in the bike. my right pipe clears no problem. the left hits the carb and my air box set up just a little. i just make it work i guess. but its def not with just the cheetahs.

very good. thats what kind of riding i do with mine. works great. not for sure but i run 450 shocks on one of my banshees and its a ton better than stock. for 250 bucks the 450 shocks are hard to beat. just took mine to the dealership after having it for over a year with all hard riding and the valves were fine. no adjustment needed. dont think so. heard its good but also heard its worthless. i dont have it done to mine and dont plan on doing it. i dont think it needs it. i havent had any problems. had some wrecks with mine and flipped it a few times. no major concerns anywhere. the air filter is junk. i replaced it with a k&n. prolly beat your stock banshee on dirt no problem and on street itll be close. stock 450 will take astock banshee in pretty much all areas of riding. warrantys are worthless i think. i doubt youll have that man problems with it to justify spending an extra 500 bucks. if i cant break mine i seriously doubt youll break yours. no problem. and yfz central is full of 13 year old spoiled rich kids whos mommy and daddy buy them a race quad and a practice quad. that site is worthless. i asked a question there once and got a reply from someone here on bansheeHQ. go figure

ac pro pegs with heal guards will flex alot. if you want something thats not gonna flex go with roll pegs and bolt some nerfs up to them.

at first i wasnt gonna say shit about this but the more i think about it this really pissed me off. so after careful consideration i thought id post so that all could see..this was my reply to SDD after he pmed me the other night. all is as it was when i sent to him. i havent changed anything. even after he called me names i even offered to help him out...check it out...SDD is in quotes... when did i say you didnt have knowledge? did i ever? i know you have a lot of knowledge as ive talked to you in the chat before and seen your posts. thats not under debate here. my knowledge is from riding experience. ill admit to anyone i dont know shit about port timing and all that. im not worried about all that. my experiecnes with different types of motors comes from years of riding. i have a cub motor now and my opinion is that it would not make a good trail motor. simple as that. if i were to start from scratch and wanted to build a trail motor i would spend the 250 bucks and have gorr port my cylinders, not spedn 1000+ on a cheetah cub setup. is it a crime that i want to share this info with others? i fucked with that stupid ass motor for well over 6 months. i talked to jim, proquad, BD and others about the jetting issues. i got help from no1 including jim. who are you to say i didnt take my time on it? there are guys out there that have had their longer than me who cant get them tuned right. i guess they are all just as dumb as me? and most of them had the same setup as me with the exception of pipes. im sorry but if it takes that many people more than 6 months to tune an engine, there is a problem with the porting itself not the person trying to tune it. how is it a joke? ive ridden on and worked on a lot of motors. i just dont know port numbers and all that. that makes my experience a joke? do you really think i win all these hillclimbs because i cant tune a motor? i dont think so. yes its true, i got rid of those cylinders. that person knew what they were getting and wanted them. they werent pawned off. maybe i dont know what the definition of pawned off is?? and by the way, those are the only cylinders ive ever sold on HQ. so what was pawned off? my opinion does matter to A LOT of people. most people dont know ANYTHING about port timing numbers. they leave that to the builders, thats what they pay them for. most people want first hand experience with these engines. thats what i give them. i know perfectly well what makes a bike rideable, i just have a different opinion that you of whats more rideable in the woods. i agree a wide powerband is good. i just dont think one that comes on at 6000 is good for trails riding. i rode that cub motor in my trails and it was not very friendly. i rode my brothers woods ported bike a lot in the trails and it was very very easy to ride. power came on down low at about 4000 and pulled on up to 9000. that was a super easy and fun bike to ride in the trails, the cub motor wasnt. theres my experience with them. like it or not. yes i think youve been whining and i believe it all started with the DD thing. well thats over with and im done with it. i dont have a large ego, but there are alot of people on this site that like to hear my opinions on things. how do i know this? i get at least 5 pm's a day regarding different engine setups, pipes, carbs and whatever else. most of them i have never even seen post before. they must ask me for some reason. its more than likely because i do all types of riding and have had many types of different engines. im not playing off anything. i wouldrather run a woods port in the trails and a cub motor for duning and dragging. theres nothing to play off, thats how i feel and it wont change. and i do have a 4 stroke by the way. man you can come to my threads any time you want. i will disagree with you all day, it doesnt matter to me. on a side note. try to keep an open mind about this.... if im not mistaken you sell these cub cylinders? im pretty sure i saw a post where you were gonna sell them. thats good, i think there needs to be more guys like you sellin them because alot of ppl dont wanna fuck with these big builders who dont have time for them. this could seriously make you some good business. i dont know if you saw the clutch threads or not but i recommended the FAST racing street bike clutch kit to some guys here. Jeff from FAST racing sent me a pm on PS lettin me know that monday he sold 3 clutches to guys from HQ because i recommened it, and had several others call about it. not trying to be a smartass but guys here definetely do listen to me. anyway, what im gettin at is that this arguing about it is going nowhere because i have my opinions and you have yours. instead of arguing about it why not promote the cubs for what they really were meant to do, drag race. agree or no?? i mean everywhere i haveread about them talkes about dragging them, so thats what the average joe who is looking at cylinders is thinking. why not try and sell them that way. if you want business im sure that i could help you get them things sold. ray, told me he gets tons of guys asking him about rockets because they have pmed me. like i said im not trying to be a smartass but there are lots of guys here that listen to what i have to say. we can argue about this shit forever or we can say fuck it and go on about our business. you can have your opinions about me and thats fine. you dont have to like me, theres plenty of guys that dont like me. all im saying is that either way im not even gonna fuck with that thread anymore. its fuckin useless to go on about it especially when there are guys like noob41 thinking he will whoop someone on a 300ex...feel free to pm me back and let me have it or let me know what you think...either way no hard feelings tyler -
badass man!! you gonna have a really fun port..itll prolly make like 70 hp too..

nice bike man. that thing is so clean. someone gonna get a real nice bike.. -
i think ray told me that he did sell the set off his banshee...
-
honestly i think id let jeff do them. talk to him and see what he thinks. he can build you a stump puller or a top end drag banshee. either way itll rip im sure. also, jeff will more than likely tell you cpi's but after he saw(he was there that day along with my builder) rockets pull 3 more hp on my setup he started believing in them. i would go for them rockets, they have never let me down and ray is a real cool guy to deal with. im sure hed be happy to let you try some pipes.

predators are a little quicker than you would think. on pavement stock vs. stock the banshee should win with equal riders. on dirt, that fucker will hook up pretty good and prolly beat a banshee.

lemme tell u a story. several years ago when i went to buy my first ever banshee i found a left over 2001. this was spring of 2002. i went to the dealership and checked it out. i wanted it and tried to make a deal. they wanted 5800 and i said will u take 5600? hes like no. i said how about 5700..he said nah. then he tells me. we are willing to sit on it for as long as we have to to sell it for 5800. im like fuck, ok. moral of the story is, the damn things sell no matter what. even with shit ass suspension, junky swinger, worthless air box set up and crappy tires people still buy them, no matter what...

i agree. theres a ton of nuts and bolts and little shit that youll have to get that will turn into a headache. i would really get a good rolling chassis and go from there. not to mention its gonna cost you an arm and a leg to do it and waiting for all your parts will suck.. -

i ran them on my 450 for a while. they bite very hard but the weight kills them. if you want something thats light weight, 6 ply and bites real hard try the kenda knarlys. i have 2 sets of them now. one set is cut for hillclimb comps and the other just regular. they hook very well. plus they are cheap...i would give them a shot. -
what exactly do they do there?

haha you have obviously never seen any of my riding videos ive posted up on here. yes ive been riding since i was 3. a properly set up 300ex?? are you for real? i love riding trails. its tons of fun. and i can also drag race, in case you didnt know. thats basically what we do in our hillclimbs. prolly never seen any of them videos huh? or how about any of our drag race videos? hmm, yea maybe u should check them out b4 you lip off. anytime you are feelin froggy meet up with me. we can drag race, hillclimb, trail ride..anything you want. ill beat you from point a to b on flat ground, hills or we can make a point a and point b in the trails and see who gets there first. its all good man. if you wanna spend 1200 bucks on cheetah cubs to trail ride then go ahead. but for about 250 bucks you can have a very friendly trail setup that will walk on a cheetah cub setup anyday in the woods. you might ask how do i know this? well gee, i have a cub motor and we had a trail ported motor. weve done the riding. we know whats goin on. no big deal if you dont believe me. but please promise me one thing. anytime you are anywhere near KC, MO pleeeeease look me up. im not far from there i would love to do some riding with you.
