  1. that was an easy fit for sure, but i dont think its gonna work that well. for one, there needs to be a nut on the axle bolt. second, the angle of that chain is crazy. that thing will eat lower chain rollers in a matter of minutes. then what? itll be draggin on the lower frame rail. the concept is cool, but i dont think the guy had an understanding of whats gonna happen when you actually ride it...either way, im totally for fucked up hybrid quads
  2. first off you need to be running either all 6 heavy duty springs or 3 heavy and 3 stock. as you have it right now you are getting uneven clutch pull which could be causing part of your problem. is there any play in the clutch? i usually leave about 1/8" of free play before the clutch will actually engage. how is yours setup?
  3. loosen the 2 bolts, twistthe carrier, tighten bolts. takes about 32 seconds. anything can be cut off. i just ran them with a skidplate for a while in the woods. they came off later...
  4. i have never in this area seen a 250 Pved or not hang with a 500 in a drag or hillclimb. it just doesnt happen. are you talking about in sand? the cr500 cylinders dont need any more bottom end or midrange for that matter. they need a topend. my cr500 motor is a 4mm stroker with a top end port job and it lost nothing on bottom. before i had it stroked it had a gorr top end port job and if anything only gained on bottom, so you def dont have to worry about the bottom end on these motors. not that im doubting you heard about the 500's vibrating but id be glad to let you ride mine. it does not vibrate bad and you dont even notice it when you are riding. the only fix i would know of is a counterbalancer which the 500's dont have.
  5. i wasnt offended, but to say its not "correct" is not really a true statement. some of the fastest bikes in the world are banshee frames with other motors in them. im not the fastest either but i know my cr500 banshee will flat out stomp a stock or even ported banshee anyday. and hassle you say?? i have never touched the cr500 motor except when i had the motor work done. i cant say that for the banshee motor.
  6. i let a few people here and there ride mine. i figure on flat ground theres no way they can abuse them more than i can...
  7. sounds to me like you need traction, not more gear...
  8. 4mm cubs, clean up port by A&S. timing at +7.. this bitch screams...crank yours on up to +7 and see how it runs.
  9. well first off from stan its 215 shipped. and if you cant afford 4 or 500 bucks for a new swinger, its def the way to go. i would go with american star brake lines. i just bought them for the raptor project along with rear brake line clamps that i drilled and tapped to bolt to the swinger. its looks really nice. if you wanna do the conversion hit me up. i have done several of them with no problems as of yet. stan has even shipped the parts directly to me and then the guy sent his swinger, i welded it up, got rid of all the bullshit and sent it back within 2 days...
  10. NO WAY a 500 just ported makin 70 to 75 hp. the hp numbers on these motors doesnt mean shit anyway, its the torque number you are looking for..
  11. hell yea man. keep us posted on how its coming. pictures are great
  12. i believe it...
  13. those motors are junk. it takes quite a bit to keep them together from what ive heard from people who have them. i hear they blow head gaskets like crazy...
  14. back when my cr500 motor was stock i could put a beatin on my bros gorr ported banshee. and that fucker was fast. yes they are a 500cc big bore single. tons of torque, but they lack on top end. tons of bottom end and midrane, lacking top end tho without porting. stock cr500 engine is right around 50 hp if im not mistaken. its kinda like riding a 4 stroke on steroids. the power is everywhere. i have never gotten a good dyno run with my cr500 engine since i had the motor work done but at 3800 rpm it was making 60 hp when the dyno quit reading. they rev to about 8000rpm i think... just a plain old piped banshee wouldnt stand a chance against mine...it will run every bit with a 4mm drag ported until they hit 5th gear, the 500 runs out of topend. you guys need to watch my hillclimb videos in the video section and see what its like. i used to have some drag videos of it floatin around somewhere...
  15. ahh i see so youre a lightweight. you will prolly need every bit of a 6" over if not an 8 over. i wouldnt go any longer than 8 over. oh i can get it to stand up, but wheel spin right off the line is what we need to get the quick times. that fucker will throw me on my ass if i let it... when you are hillclimbing you get used to being over the bars and keepin the front down.
  16. well then it def sounds like you are rich. can you drop the pilots down any smaller?
  17. damn im not too far from you at 1000 feet with 35mm pwk and im at 162 main i believe...
  18. if you go any longer than +6 you are gonna feel like you are driving a limo. and since you say you want to drag it im assuming straight paddles or some grippy ass street tires, neither of which will allow you to turn all that easily. what motor are you building? i have a 90hp cub motor and i run a +4 for dirt hillclimbs. i dont have a problem keeping the front down even with cut hillclimb tires. how much do you weigh? that will also play a part in how long you should go.
  19. someone give me a frame and motor and ill make it happen...seems i have a problem with making quads yamaha should have produced...
  20. i run them on all my bikes. never had one break or anything. and my 2 banshees arent anywhere near stock...
  21. damn does the elevation make your mains drop down that far??
