  1. i would just find someone who works on them. maybe even ask a question over at PS. blaster engines are so simple that a 3 year old could take one apart and work on it. if you wanna make it pretty quick go with a 240 kit from someone. i just dont know who with porting, bigger carb and the right exhaust i think your wife will have one hell of a time on it. hell, stock blasters are fun...u just dont want ur friends to know u ride one...
  2. ok im kinda lost here. was it running on one cylinder before you took it to him? i dont run keys on any of my banshees and i have no problems with my kill switches. you might as well disconnect the key because if someone wants to steal it a key isnt gonna stop them. the pro design kill switches are a positive action kill switch that connect right to the coil. the one that runs down there should connect into the orange wire. the other is just a ground. check to see if he did that right.
  3. yea what kinda porting? id say anywhere from 55 to 70...
  4. i didnt start this thread for it to be informative or argumentative. i just thought it was funny that the term "detune" was used. thats it...but carry on anyway!!
  5. ouch that sucks
  6. i think they made a big leap with that thing. the old craptors are junk and needed a huge upgrade. i wanna ride one when they come out and someone i know buys one. im just not gonna be buying one...
  7. i have the quicksands as well and honestly have never messed with the caster adjustment. why you ask? because im never in a million years gonna be able to tell the difference. i set my tires about 3/8" in more at the top of the tire than bottom. then set up my tie rods. i have never had an issue with them. neither has my brother. if you are riding in the trails i seriously doubt youll ever notice the difference either. personally id say screw the caster shit, set up the camber and go riding...
  8. how about 160 to 168 mains, 45 to 50 pilot, clip in the middle and air screw 2.5 turns out. thats what we always run here in missouri with those carbs but since you are in cali you will be a little different. id give 168 mains, 48 pilot a try...
  9. i run trail tech x bar setups on my 450 and my cbr600rr raptor. and soon to be on the silver banshee. they make a really strong bar thats hard as fuck to bend. are you gettin the big bar clamp and everything when you buy or just the bars?
  10. no o ring. are you sure you have the clutch adjusted right? if you pull in the clutch it may be a little hard to roll, but you should be able to move it.
  11. one main jet size should do it. if you wanna be safe try 2 sizes up first and see what the plugs look like.
  12. you have made a good decision. you are gonna like those tires...
  13. WOT all the time no matter what...
  14. same here ron. done mine a dozen times prolly with no issues...
  15. knarlys all the way..heres why.. they are a 6 ply tire yet still lighter than hyoleshot hd or irazr, which imo are the bets tires those people make. also, they are cheaper and with the offset in the tread pattern seem to clear dirt out a lot better. i like theo ther 2 tires but the knarlys are what i run on all my bikes. and yes. i have them all and have run them all...
  16. and you were doing so good BFS...
  17. i think the site is fine...thats just my opinion tho...
  18. whoa, whoa, whoa now...i absolutely was not bashing anyone. that quote was directly from dans mouth. i was not trying to start any shit. i just thought it was funny we had a 10 page post about "de tuning" cub motors and here dan says "de tune" in his post...where did i bash him exactly? i have heard great things about his motor and wouldnt hesitate to send him stuff to work on.. SDD, where did i bash him or his work?? did i say something there that implied he didnt know what he was doing? and yes i am a member of PS. i go over and read and on occasion post something. if i had a question about building a big drag bike id go there and ask a question, simple as that. right now im content with what i am running and i got it built with no help from anyone here or PS. i am not as incompetent as you think i am...im not sure why you think im so stupid. i have a bike that hasnt been touched on the hill this year, and can also run pretty well on the flats. i do all my own motor assembly, tuning and every other aspect of setting my bike up..that makes me an idiot? im not quite sure what your problem is. perhaps you dont have a SDD fan club and that makes you mad?? odaen, where did i bash im once again?? i didnt post anything there becasue thats not where the original thread about "detuning" the cubs was at. it was right here on HQ and i thought that it was funny someone said "de tune" over there. thats all. i dont see what class has to do with what i posted. once again, i just thought it was funny and never wanted to start any shit again. if i wanted to start shit again id bring back the original topic. dan, in no way was i bashing you or anything of the sort..we had a pretty heated debate about "detuning" cub motors a while back and saw that you said "de tune" and thought it was funny..in no way am i discrediting what you do or anything like that. i have heard a lot of good things about your work and i even contacted you last year about doing a 4mm for me. so dont take this as a shot at you or whatever these guys think i was trying to do...
  19. haha nice one...
  20. was readin around on PS today and came upon this statement...here is Backcountry's post... he talks about DETUNING them... like i said, just thought it was funny...
  21. fuckin right. i run them on both my banshees and now my project raptor...cheap and strong as hell. also, if you can get someone to make you some longer tie rods you wont bend the tie rod ends so easily. i had some made that were like 3/4" longer and i havent bent the ends yet...
  22. ive never noticed it... i ran the same plugs for over a year in mine and only changed cuz i had some new ones layin around.
  23. find a bolt that fits pretty tight in there and then get 2 nuts for that bolt. screw them all the way down on that bolt and tighten them against each other. then put the head of the bolt down into the steering stem nut and put a wrench on the nut on the bottom and turn counter clock wise...that should get it pretty easily. that thing shouldnt be in there that damn tight. first time i took one out i used a hammer and a screw driver...
