  1. Perfect example of the SEARCH FUNCTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. I beg to differ with ya. I beat NUMEROUS Revs on the trusty Polaris. Not bench racing here, I have beat several in snocross, (where rider is more of a factor than machine) and in drags. I have NEVER lost to a Rev in a drag. And I ride a BONE stock machine on the trails. I don't ever mod a trail sled, except for clutching. I like alot of backshift...
  3. You have to take the carbs off. Drill in where the instructions say to do so, and run the tap through there. You have to grind off the angled portion because the idle screw will never fit in there. The idle screws are short, and when you grind it off, the screw will go in enough. I am locking this thread now, and if you need further assistance, PM me.....
  4. And your 88 stang is much better?
  5. Buy a Clymer or equivalent service manual. Anything except haynes. They suck. Anyways, split the cases. I tried to clean the case and crank out when I burned a hole in the piston, and it didn't work, and shortly thereafter, I had catastrophic crank failure. It sucked.....
  6. It won't hurt your bike, but you may see a performance decrease in all around riding. If you are dragging, you should be fne...
  7. Detonation my friend. What octane were you running? HEat range on the plug? Squish band incorrect? All these things play a factor here....
  8. sure, I can whip up another set. I will just have to find my print, or take one out and re-maesure them....
  9. Polish them yourself...... it's not hard, and it will save you some $$$$ Or, send tem to Nyuk......
  10. The pilots you have are wrong. Either the dealer has no clue about anything, or you didn't tell them they were for a banshee. Take one of the jets with you, and get the right ones....
  11. Having something stuck in the main jet will not make the carb leak fuel out the overflow tube... However, having something lodged in the needle valve would do that. Or a faulty neelde valve could be the culprit as well...
  12. It can also happen from too little oil in the case.
  13. There is one extra wire. You also have to switch one of the conectors. Or, call ricky stator, and get the other stator.... edit: ANother thought, if you don't want to get a new stator, or mess around, still give Ricky a call, and see if he can fashion ya up a pigtail of some sort so it plugs right in...
  14. You can't just swap a Honda rear end in there. What you want to do is put a Honda style carrier in there. I did that on mine, and shortened the arm as well. it is commonly referred to as a Honda carrier. but trust me, they are not inerchangeable. Different sizes. Here are some pics of mine. It is welded onto a stock swingarm...
  15. Stock caps are loaded. I do not know about the MSD??? I always run R plugs just in case...
  16. Or a clear line?? Also, I had a problem where the coil wire was falling off, and hampering spark at certain times....
  17. I did a poll on this in the old forums to see what everyone was running, and what their thoughts were on it. i came to the conclusion that the Toomey was the best al around. And in sand, clamp on's seemed to be the way to go. There isn't a do all setup, except for a box with the lid on. That will protect you from most of the crap out there. But then, you limit your power because you can't get enough air....
  18. I think it would weed out the shitty people, but it may deter some prospective valuable members. I wonder if these people that are coming in here asking BS questions are from EXRiders??
  19. I don;'t see why not with a little bit of trimming. That is provided you wanted to hack up your Fullbores. Which I wouldn't do. And the color rarely matches....
  20. Holy shit batman!!!! That doesn't sound like any sort of fun..... (The BB in the throat thing...) I used to do the same shit, and have scars all over my arms from it.... but, my hobbies include, Wife and step son, Building trucks, Cars, suspensions, Precision Automated machinery, Bartending, MX, BMX, Mountain biking, Ski instructing, off piste skiing, skiing, SnoCross, Snowmobiling, Doing things that shouldn't be done, Alcohol, Running over small vehicles, ice hockey-(15 years), Roller hockey, My new house, tractor pulling, drag racing, (NO Nascar), Mopar, Ford, Bartending, Snowboarding, Tools, And being broke. not necessarily in that order....
  21. I have an IMS tank. I like it, but it will soon be for sale perhaps. I am unsure yet...
  22. You will NEVER keep it cool without some serious modification. I used to run the P.R.O. circuit. (Grass drags) After ever run, we had to come back, unhook the quick disconnect and pump water through the motor that then went through coils in a cooler with ice and water in it. You see, on a sled, there are heat exchangers. Not a radiator like is needed for summer situations where you need to get rid of the heat. The heat exchangers on a sled are located under the running boards, and inside the tunnel. It depends what brand you have that will depict where the exchangers are....
  23. You know it sister!!!!!!!!
  24. They are a nice handling machine. But, I would rather get a yammy 450, or the new CRF 450. Better machines by far. I know the predator comes with some good partsstock, but I just don't like Polaris ATV's. I will only ride a Polaris Sled, but that is a different story. Polaris sleds are the best on the market... Yep, that's right, I said it, Polaris sleds are the best. But on the note of this thread, definitely get a 450 if he ain't gonna get a shee....
  25. I have been beaten by other banshees, a couple bikes in the dunes, and a YFZ 450. Last time i dragged in the NYSATVDRA grass circuit, I came in second in all classes. Lost to the same nitrous shee all friggin night...
