  1. Just to clear things up a little, the clutch arm arrow and the case arrow should NOT line up with the cluthc lever in the "unpulled" location. What happens is, when you take up the free play in the cable and lever, (ie. lightly pull the clutch lever to take the slack out of it, or hold your finger against the arm) it is then, and only then that the arrows should line up. When the lever is all the way out, the actuation arm should be to the outside of the arrow on the case. And when you pull the lever in to disengage the clutch, the arm should sweep past the arrrow on the case, and disengage the clutch. If this doesn't happen, than most likely the pressure plate is installed incorrectly. There is a reason for the arrows on the arm and the case. The actuation arm has a cam profile where it contacts the disengagement rod, and the ball. If the arm isn't in the right position, than you will not get the full available movement out of the arm. And thus, you may be pulling your clutch lever from fully out, to fully in, but there isn't enough movement, because the cam is in the wrong spot to do so.... I'm betting that the pressure plate is installed incorrectly. By what you describe, it sounds as though the bike doesn't move when you put it in gear. THis means that the pressure plate isn't contacting the clutch plates.
  2. Perhaps they aren't stock pistons?
  3. Yep. More prone to stalling??? Man oh man. I wish i wouldn't have lightened my flywheel because now my bike doesn't even idle!!! It is a major PITA to be riding and have it stall out all the damn time. I have done side by side "real world" comparo's and found the lightened flywheel to be beneficial in EVRY area of riding. THis is on a banshee. Not a 400EX, or whatever other 4 stroker is out there. On a 2 stroke twin, there is power every 180 degrees of crankshaft rotation. I see what kind of a guy "dabeechman" is. All hung up on the Dyno, and numbers. While he seems like a knowledgeable fellow, it also occurs to me that he should do ALOT less speculating, and some real world shiz. he has never tried one. He has no clue what it is about. And he mentions "stock stroke" bikes. Well, I have seen alot of stock stroke bikes lay an ass handing session to strokers. Who gives a f*ck.... Maybe there are rules that don't allow flywheel mods in this class? Or is it a grudge race he's talking about? I dunno? Seems to me that the PVL ignition doesn't even use a flywheel. Perhaps they should try that. Oh, wait a minute, they already did. And I bet they used a dyno in the process as well as "real world" testing.
  4. Holy good god man!!!! What a bummer. I have never personally seen a WHiplash lift. But from doing other IFS lifts, I cannot fathom dropping all that conglomatry (if that's even a word, but you get the jist of it) down to the retarded levels that they do..... There is too much of a flex factor for it.... If you do want to keep the IFS, expect to pay big bucks for a lift if you want over 6". I stil think that a SAS is the best option. I am thinking that with a 6" suspension, and 3" body lift, I don't see any reason why 37" tires won't go on there? With some trimming, 38's wouldn't be a problem.....
  5. Are you going CNC or Manual? if it is CNC, you can talk to Dan at Alloy Specialties, Stan from Dune Devil, there is alot of peeps doing things for our bikes. Dave from Noss machine..... Ron from Banshee Worx.... the list goes on and on..... The possibilities are endless. I use all manual machines. We are a job shop. No production work.... Don't need NC machines for what we do. It all depends on what you want to do. But, I am sure that all can attest that it is a tough business to break into. Make sure your pockets are deep untill you get off the ground.......
  6. I think both y'all are wierd.........
  7. You will be fine. Gasoline has a shelf life in a closed container of about 6 months. Now, you don't know how long that fuel sat in the tank at the station, how long it was before it even got to the station. But, for a month, I wouldn't give it a second thought. Now, if you had it in a drum, under pressure from nitrogen gas, than shelf life is ALOT longer!!!! But, who has nitrogen bottles laying around the garage/shop for this purpose. I know I do!!!
  8. Whoomp, there it is. You have a slide stuck open. The TORS system is limiting the ignition so that the bike doesn't rev when sitting still. you can still ride it, because once you hit the throttle, the TORS system senses that you have done so. The only way that the TORS system will limit revving up, or riding when you try to use the throttle is if the parking brake is on. Are the slides in the correct carb? I think this has to do with carburetion being that you said that when you unplugged the TORS system brain box under the tank, the engine revved to the moon..... I would be suspect of that.... Give the carbs a good cleanin....
  9. I cut the mounting ends off of the front mounts. (where it bolts to the engine mounts) and ran a piece of aluminum round stock across the bottom frame rails and u-bolted it in place. Works liek a champ....
  10. Oh boy. Other side of the world damn near!!! SAS is te only reliable way to lift a Chevy and get any height out of it. But, if you must keep the IFS, try www.whiplashsuspensions.com and call 'em up. On their site is all the new stuff, but I know they have the old stuff too....
  11. Holy shiz!!!! I thought you were swapping a Chevy. Not a TOy. Sorry bro. All previous commentary on that are retracted!! The Jeep springs are the most common used. And they work...
  12. I do not believe that the clutch bushings are replaceable. IMHO they aren't needed either.. but, on the seatcover thing, Cascade is the place to go.
  13. Easy there buddy. It was in an email that i got. I didn't really have time to check all the facts on it. And I am basically in the same industry as yourself. Sorry to here about your job loss. The country is going to hell in a hand basket. Why yes, fortunately, I keep my feathers numbered for just such an emergency. Good ol' Bill Clinton enacted NAFTA, (North American Free Trade Agreement) on Jan. 1, 1994. The purpose was to And it didn't work as intended. I don't know why peeps keep turning this into a war debate. While I don't like the fact that our fellow countrymen & women are over there, I do however remember 9/11/01. Do you? Someone needed to go over there and kick some ass. we agree on that though. All the other shit, by that I mean the things not related to this war, is bull. and that's what I'm pissed about. And where you say that half of it was about Clinton?? nope. It's not.... As far as I'm concerned, and I think someone else already said it, the best President this country ever had, was assasinated Nov. 22, 1963. I wasn't even alive then. it's a shame. I'm not even gonna get into that. But, the president isn't overruled by Congress and the house. They all lobby each other. Making deals as they see fit. With sometimes absolute disregard for the American people. This is the problem.......
  14. Yep. Run 4WD Chevy springs out of the older SA trucks.. Alot easier than trying to run rear springs up front... Or, have some custom made. They are going for about $500 a pair around here, custom made to my specs..
  15. I have AC pro pegs. If you install them like they come from the factory, they suck ass. if you modify them to hold up properly, then you will bw all set...
  16. The PRM will not work. I had to make mounts to make my AC fit...
  17. Stroker and porting. You will kick yourself in the man junk if you don't stroke it...
  18. The rings need to be in the groooves on the piston.
  19. Doesn't much matter. one is an overflow, and the rest are vents. That is the case usually. As long as you have the fuel feeding in the correct orifice....
  20. Precisely. That's the only thing you need it for....
  21. That was my point!! I was just elaborating on the fact that the HQ is gonna lay an all day ass whoopin on the EX boyz...... And then somehow it got all crazy. And then got blamed on me!!!!! Piss on it. I'm down for a ride. Where and when!!!! Ridin sounds like a good idea!!!
  22. Woa woa woa there Zep head!!!!!! This here: was not my post!!!!! My post was just a little rippin on ya. I mean, you do ride a honda, and this is the roostin room. So calm the hell down man. I'm just fuckin with ya. That's what this room is for!!! Dude, re-read what I posted. In case you don't want to scroll, I just put them here for you. My first post in here... Hrmmm, no mention of pappy's nonsense there.... I don't even know of this clown... another one, the next post I made: Which was in reply to your statment here: And here was my final post in here untill this one.. So where is it that I ned to re-evaluate? Straighten up man!!!!! Get your shit together!!! I know you ride a honda, and this may be a hard thing to do. But it has to be possible. (fyi, that was more sarcasm there)
  23. Or lack thereof!!!!!
  24. There's why. I run a UNI filter in the airbox, just no lid. Open K&N ought to go up about 2 or so on the main.....
