  1. What oil plug are y'all talking about in the crankcase? The transmission and the crankcase are two completely different and seperated pieces of the entire engine... Now, for flushing the lower end, I HIGLY suggest that you split the cases. You won't get it all out. I ttried it the "easy way", (not splitting them) and I got burned. Lower rod bearing went after about 5 hours of riding. Tel your buddy to do himself a favor, set aside a Saturday afternoon, get a lower end gasket set, and split them and clean uup the crank. Have it welded and trued while your at it.... Itherwise you might as well because the lower end will go.
  2. It's not that expensive to fix. You could rebuild it yourself, and then send it out to be trued and welded again. About 5 minutes with a die grinder and whala, no more weld.....
  3. Which lake? Ontario or Erie? Either way, I'm around all the time... I work in Akron, if you're out that way, (like Lockport area or something) I'll bring y bike to work and we'll go for a scoot out that way. Or, let me know, and I'll just come out your way. I can help you get things straightened out with it. Trust me on that.... I know that shees have a way of making you but they can be made to run. if ALL you do is race MX, get the R if it makes you happy. You're the one riding it. But, if you want to race a little here and there, and play ride, the banshee is the wiser choice....
  4. Doesn't sound like it. I'll tell you what. You live close to me. You come over, with your bike, and we'll go for a boot. You can ride my bike, shortened swingarm, fattys, and stock porting, and you tell me what you think can be done with a shee. You won't want the R. And if you want to race MX strictly, find yourself a dynoport or a motofast 2 into 1 pipe and a CV carb assembly. Then, send the motor to Passion the next season, and get some fatty pipes. Have him drop a stroker in there, and port it. You'll smoke any R out there..... Also, I'd like to see that S-10. I got one in the garage right now, and 2 "race" motors on stands waiting to go in..... I'll have to get used to no brakes, because the cam I have in either motor won't make enough vacuum.... That offer is serious though. PM me, and I'll throw ya my #. I live in Elma.
  5. What's this garage I hear about??????
  6. How is it that the inner bearing froze up??? Obviously it wasn't installed properly?? A brand new crank just doesn't go freezing up bearings because it feels like it. Did you pre-oil the bearings before you sealed the cases??? I find it hard to believe that you have been working on 2-stroked for over 10 years and are hard pressed to find a solution to your problem. SOunds to me like you have no friggin idea what you are doing. I'll give you $500 for your bike, and you can bring your R anywhere you want to. We'll run. Give me a day with that bike and I'll have it running perfect. I notice your trophy says silver springs. You in Western New York? Sorry bro, things just don't add up here.
  7. First one I ever had was a Honda ATC 110. First 4 wheeler was a Kawasaki Mojave 110.
  8. You must be kidding right? if that is the case, he must have NO tranny oil in that thing...... The right side would smoke like none other if the seal was that bad.....
  9. This is what it's all about.
  10. I wouldn't go tearing into anything yet. A leakdown test will tell you if a seal is shot. (crank seal). A compression check will telll you what kind of shape the top end is if you know what the compression is on a fresh top end on YOUR motor. Now, I don't have a clue why there is fuel in the tranny. Unless it is leaking out of the carbs, and going in through the clutch actuator arm seal or something. But then there should be water and what not in there.... I would get that oil out of the tranny ASAP. Fill it up with fresh stuff, and see where you go from there....
  11. A mix of ethylene Glycol and water will do just fine. (Ethylene Glycol is coolant. A.K.A. "the green shit" that goes in your car as well. Can be found at your local auto parts store.) I mix mine at about 60% coolant, and 40% water.
  12. The bull shit on the boards lately....... I am just hoping the HQ doesn't get
  13. Maybe not too much longer........ Unless the bullshit stops...
  14. Shit Stan!!!! You can change the seal without pulling the fuel tank and top end??? I thought something was wrong. And I agree, f*ck losing the site.... Something has gotta give.....
  15. In that case Stan, you need my Dodge!!!!!
  16. This is bull shit. What the f*ck happened. If it's gonna be sold, it won't come down. I'll buy the friggin' server. Someone else can run it though. I'm not that smart..... Please Reconsider Lee.......... BUT, if you must pass it along, PM me, or email me and we'll talk.....
  17. CHANGE!!!!! I canceled the order with Dell. Piss on it. B370 is gonna hook me up!!! (besides, i'd rather throw a few bucks to a fellow HQ'er, and someone I consider a friend than Dell....) So, looks like I won't be another Dell fanatic. I'll be in "Wally's world"!! Thanks Walter!!!! Much appreciated!!
  18. The fuel money you save ain't gonna be worth freezing your balls off on a cold morning and the cost of the bike. You would have to ride it EVERY day for 5 years at least to make it just break even on the investment. I've worked the numbers.... Although, you may drive alot farther than I do, which could make it slightly more worthwhile... I drive about 800 miles a week.
  19. Some nice aluminum there. I used to have a ZX-7R. Sold it. Done deal. Still have my leathers and lid though. I may ride again. I doubt it though. Looked over too many caskets. Figured I was next, being that everyone thought I would be the first. I never laid one down. I would like to keep it that way. I was doing too much stupid shit that I didn't need to be doin.....
  20. On top of it Benny!!! But thanx for the mention!! All of this nonsense is just.
  21. YAMABOND. Nothing compares. Spend the $7, and get ya a tube. it will last lifetime. I have the same tube I bought last year, and I have assembled a ton of engines...... Still got plenty left.....
  22. If you still have the factory TORS setup, try disconnecting that. There is a small black box, adjacent to the coil, with 3 wires. Disconnect it. That wll completely disable the system. Also, clean the carbs as aforementioned. This can do wonders!!! Remember to use compressed air, and cleaner/solvent.....
  23. Your questions may be answered HERE
  24. Alright folks. I got me some $$$ saved up. Now, I need a computer. As you may or may not know, I do not own one. I never have. Kind of odd....... I am thinking I want a desktop. Laptops are nice, but I think I can get more use out of a desktop, and pack more stuff in there.. I have been using a laptop for awhile now. But for my very own, I think a desktop is the way I want to go.... Let it fly..... Otherwise, I'm calling Dell..... I know some of y'all can help me out immensely!!! I know there are some computer buffs. Fire it up!!!
  25. interesting. I ride XC and hare scrambles as well. I will pay attention to that next time..... For my own knowledge ya know???
