About 3-4 hours on a tank. But I have a 6 gallon tank...

There really isn't an "adjustable" choke jet. There is an extra brass tube in the stator sude carb that takes fuel directly from the bowl, past both jets, and directly into the intake(s). But, the pilot jet, (commonly called the idle jet) is the small jet, that requires a small flathead screwdriver to remove...

Did you unplug and/or remove the TORS module? It is located adjacent to the ignition coil, under the fuel tank on the Stator side of the bike. It has a 3-wire conector on it. This NEEDS to be unplugged if you have a TORS removal kit on it.

Ryder21, it will cost you less than the $50 mentioned. You will see a nice boost across the board. Throttle response will pick up a bit. Low end response will be better. Normally, if your jetting is correct when you take the head off, it should be on when you put it back on. No changes are needed. To answer the previous question, I have successfully milled a stock head, on my own personal bike .050". I ran a 50%/50% mix of C-12 and 94 octane pump. I NEVER had a problem. In 2 years of running the bike. And I am not "nice" to it all the time. Just be careful. The squish is on the VERY LOW end of "acceptable". Actually, it's "not" acceptable. But, I've done it.

LOL!! SOmetimes, I can't get to my email untill the evening. If I'm really busy at work, I can't get on and check it. I got back to ya Super 03. Return PM sent.

Not a problem, however, if you go crazy with the impact, (and it doesn't take a whole helluvalot) you will tighten the nut too tight, and that is not good. Reason being that the flywheel is on the end of the crank with a taper lock. Meaning that the taper holds the flywheel tight. If the nut gets run on too tight, you may never get the flywheel off. Alot of the flywheels I have been getting lately seem to be galled up on the inside. I clean them up real nice, but it shows how very little it takes to make things gall up and what not....

I had a problem like that, and my primary coil wire was loose on the coil. I also had a problem with a coil, before, when it shit the bed. Food for thought as well, I also had wires, and caps go bad. (at seperate times). I like the NGK caps. Parts unlimited caps are junk. You will need new caps with the new coil. From the dealer, the coil doesn't come with caps. And you might as well get ya some new ones, being you just plunked down $$ on a new coil. Make sure you get the "loaded" caps. They have a built in resistor, to protect the CDi from interference....

I could ship something across the street and it would cost $7 at least. Tires coming from anywhere are $20 plus.....

I use my rear brake before that happens..... ANd Banchetta's bike had PC silencers on it I believe.....

HEREis a puller on Ebay. Check it out...
-
the loudest bike with silencers I ever heard was Banchetta's bike at Coalfest....

I have driven ,and ridden in all three. I personally own a crew cab 2003 F-250 powerstroke. I have a 7.3. They (Ford) offered the 7.3L in that year still because of fleet reasons. Anyways, the early '03's with a 6.0 in them, are plagued with difficulties. My brother in law has one. POS. I have a good friend that has a mid '03, and he has 8" of lift, 38" rubber, and a 3 stage flip chip on his 6.0. Runs great. No problems. Now, the 7.3, in my truck, gets a consistent 15 MPG. I am not nice to my truck. I drive 80+ MPH every day on my way to work. If I am normal with it, and drive like I should, I get 17. I have a 140 horse 6 stage flip chip from TS performance, an AFE stage 2 intake, and a 4" turbo back exhaust. There isn't anything in the area that will touch my truck, unless they are running propane, or different injectors. My truck rips. It's an auto. I haul anywhere from 4,000#'s to 16,000#'s. My truck does it all. Anything I ask of it, it does without flinching. I have a 3" lift with 35" tires. It did not flaw my fuel mileage at all. The only major problem(s) I have had withmy truck was an alternator, and an o-ring fittting went bad on the high pressure oil pump. The injector change that somepone spoke about in the Ford, is a Long lead injector they put in. It is to cure the idle cackle that sometimes plagues Powerstrokes. My truck cackles sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't.... I haven't taken it in for the change. The ride of my truck is good. I have airbags in the rear, for extra load carrying capacity, with onboard air, I can fill them or deflate them at the push of a button. I love my truck. The interior is great. VERY roomy. My brother just purchased an '04 chevy. I don't remember who spoke of the ford interior being "dated", but I think they read too many magazines. I heard that in motor trend and in Peterson's. I think my brother's interior in his Chevy looks like shit. The guages are a PITA to read at a glance. I have several guages in my truck. 4 on the pillar, and the dash cluster itself. The Chevy is confusing at a glance, and tough to get used to. Dodge, is nice, however, the interior is small. Cramped. Cummins engines are a tried and true engine. (with respect to the "B" series which is in the pickups). You will not have to omuch trouble with that engine. I personally do not like the noise of the Cummins when you put an exhaust on it. It sounds droney to me. (if that is a word...) ANyways, several of my buddies run Dodge trucks, and i used to run a DOdge myself. Not a cummins, but anyways, they love their trucks. It's personal preferance. Lots of leaks with a Cummins i have seen though. When the mileage gets up there. My boss has a Duramax dually. Loves it. He is a chevy guy. His truck is stock. Hasn't hada problem with it yet. However, I know of several other people that have had multiple injectors replaced. And the Allison transmission has failed more than a Dodge transmission fails. But, the ride of his truck is impressive. On the pavemement. I wouldn't go lifting it though. IFS is not meant for lifts.... At least not the way they have it set up..... Anyways, any diesel purchase you make will have it's own inherent difficulties. I was set on a DOdge, because I have been a DOdge guy for a while. However, I made my decision based on interior. Ford interiors take the cake. I have been in and worked alot of pickups. The Ford is the best IMHO. Second would be the Dodge. Mileage numbers for Dodge have been down from talking with owners. 13-15 with a Dodge. 14-18 with a Ford. And 15-18 with a Chevy. I have pounded my Powerstroke. It has withstood everything I have thrown at it. and while hauling a load, I can still smoke a Mustang GT, or a Z-28. How about that for a heavy pickup? I love it. I work my truck, I plow snow, I haul, I drive it daily. Wouldn't be in anything else these days.

The cheap and easy method, is to get a 3/4" diameter bolt. The flat-flat measurement on the head of that bolt will be about 1 1/8". Meaning, that a 1 1/8" wrench will fit the head of that bolt. now, get you a bolt of that size, either a 3/4"-10 NC, or a 3/4"-16 NF will be what you will find at the hardware store. Stick the head of the bolt in the retaining nut in the frame. (the hex looking thing on top of the bearing...) and grab onto it with a good pair of vice grips. Turn it out. Or, weld a nut to the bolt, and stick a socket on it. Or an impact.
-
LMAO!!! Nipple is actually the lightswitch. Clock is a temp guage. I'm sure you knew that already, just to clarify for those that may not have.... But, I may in the future like to see some nipples installed on there.... Production will likely never start. That piece was a PITA to make. Kind of a one off. I also made a completely new bar clamp setup, to go on the stem as well. Also, note that I run "Boondock special" tie rods as well. (Made by guess who.... ) The tie rods are not tapered. Straight shank.... So the holes are just drilled. Not taper reamed.... So, you would require new tie rods, and a new bar clamp setup to run that stem. Someday, maybe I'll sell the whole setup..... My bars are insanely high on the bike. Think, sno cross sled, and you picture what my bars look like on the bike.... It allows you to muscle the bike however you want it though.....

Here's one of the stem...

I am running a Boonie +3 stem. (I made it myself). Works fantastic. I love it. And with my MX bend bars, they sit at the proper height. (for me anyways) I like tall bars.....

You absolutely need to have the correct puller. Otherwise, you might as well give $300 to the needy. And kiss your flywheel good bye. It will be junk. As far as the local shop, make sure they know what they are doing, and they should be able to hanndle it. If not, contact BDBanshee or myself. One of us will hook you up.

Where is the plug for the block heater?

Ain't that funny SRedish??? I kick mine into stock for shits and giggles just to reminisce on the old days. For a split second, untill I get all disgusted with it... I don't like the high settings when the engine is cold, it gets some injector noise, and some clatter from the advanced timing.... I normally run around on 50 or 75. If someone fucks with me, I flip it to 140, and try to put my foot through the floor. It's fun..... -
Man oh man. Horror stories!!! At my place of current employment, Well, my day job, I got about a grand. Taxed. Company is decent size, over 200 employees. And every day you miss, counts against you exponentially. I missed 1/2 day this year. (actually, I was late by a few minutes, but that counts as a half day against you for bonus....) I also got a sweatshirt. Nice Fruit of the Loom sweatshirt too. I design and build high speed precision automated machinery. Start to finish. Feom welding, painting, machining, assembly, electrical, programming, everything. I do it all. Fun and entertaining job. Keeps my mind busy. Now, for one of my other jobs, we didn't get shit. (ski Instructor). I think it costs me more to work there teaching skiing than I make there in a season. Oh well. The bar I bartend at on the weekend, didn't give out shit for a bonus. Didn't really piss me off that much. Ans for my own business, I didn't give myself anything. However, the wife did get me a new air ratchet for Christmas.

Mine was dangling out, but I didn't have it tied out. It slipped inside the bumper, and that's where it has stayed. I have seen unassisted starts on my truck from as low as -10 so far. Ford allegedly quacks a -20 unassisted start. I'll test it. At the ski area, it gets that low on a regular basis. I can't plug my truck in there. We'll see. I wait about 30 seconds, and fire it up. Romp romp romp, she bangs away. Then sounds like an F-16 for about 20 minutes....... Anyways, point being, I run Rotella T fleet oil all year round. Purrs like a kitten. Now, I don't go flippin the chip to 140 and pounding it, but I can get in and drive after a 5 minute warm up. Glad to hear you found the cord......
