yes, definitely a pancake bearing and a ceramic ball. for the extra $3 just get it too. I welded my shift assembly and just went ahead and got it all at once. no more issues
And for the record my post started as asking why my banshee lacked power on my launches. Pages of posts later I was checking tolerances and everyone said my squish was way off. Now my bike pulls harder than ever and wheelies in 4th (on gravel) whereas before it would only come up in 3rd (also gravel)
If that's my engine you're referring to, (based on squish numbers it is) changing domes was the answer to fixing my overall squish yes, but did not fix my left to right variance. I swapped nothing more than a hot rods crank and my left to right is almost dead on and my overall squish went from 066 to 054. Same thickness base gaskets, same domes I started with.
no doubt about that. Just struck me as really left field. I don't see a business owner reaching out to a private consumer like that for something like this, Maybe he did, just seems a little unorthodox to me
So I got this message the other day on the fb page. Someone asked about hjr work, and since I had his porting I chimed in. Anyways, here's what was said. I'm not worried about the other person in this reading it here, because my work is done. My motor runs strong and all my issues are sorted out so anyways.... Here it is

He refused to sell me a hot rods, he said he had issues with them and they weren't good, and that he didn't sell them anyways so I returned my crank and bought a HR

Agreed, that crank had my squish off from left to right and too large overall. now my L/R is good to go and my squish is where it should have been from the beginning. I tried being nice about it, but that honestly just didn't work. He finally got right with me though so I cant be mad
I'm not knocking his port work, but that crank was something else. Hot rods crank and new base gaskets, all issues gone and the bike is noticeably stronger, starts better, revs faster. It's awesome now that it's fixed
I need to get some beauty washers like these. I can't remember if he said where they came from. Anyone have any ideas?

Idk, I swapped them onto my bike. Unbelievable difference between them and the master cylinder together and got them off a part out bike for cheap

However, my squish variance from one cylinder to the other was pretty far off too. Idk, it could have been any number of factors, but it's much better now!
I have a good stock radiator with hoses, stock calipers, master cylinder and all the lines. Just need pads. I dont know what all else you're looking for
That's step 1! After that I need to find a place to launch it over and over and over. I'm still thinking about letting sleeper port my cases, and getting some cpi in frames. I want moar

I leave in 2nd, wot, and it bogs hard when it leaves. But maybe it won't do that now with more compression and better squish. I already richened the needles to the 4th clip, think I need to go to 5. It's better but still has a bog even when just riding around

He swears it'll give me a run for my money, but I already beat the yfz he lost to. If I can learn how to come off the line better I'd be much faster. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to launch it best

So I went with a hot rods crank vs HJR crank and I had to use the same domes, with a cometic 020 base I got from Justin and the squish is dead on what Kevin originally said it would be. So either his gasket kit had the wrong base gasket or, it was his crank. I had 4 sets of base gaskets and 2 sets of domes I tried out before I decided the 020 and 115 step domes were best for me

Hahahahaha he "claims" he only lost to a yfz450 with pipe, ignition and intake by 2 lengths. Idk about all that. These 4 stroke kids tell me my bike being a 377 is irrelevant because it's 2 stroke. Then I remind them we're 20+ years older of a design
