  1. I'm not saying I never change my oil, but every other ride seems a little excessive. I know what clutch matierial and metal looks like in oil, and I know when my oil is clean. Whenever I ride through deep water or mud, or ride in extremely dusty conditions, YES I change my oil afterwards. I used to use golden spectro 4, but now I use valvoline ATV oil, which is designed for wet clutches. Shifts real smooth. Every other change, I add a little lucas additive.
  2. HOLY F-CK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. NICE! that looks like a blast. The closest gncc race to me, is in indiana. I'm gonna try a few harescrambles this year and if I like it, I'm gonna try the gncc.
  4. YEah, what he said. If you find it's not that, or nothing clogged, try going up on the pilot. The pilot should'nt be the problem, though, because of your elevation. Maybe you can turn the airscrews in a little.
  5. The raptor's rear offset is exactly opposite from the banshee, nice if you want a little wider.
  6. Why do you guys change your oil so often? If it gets that dirty and breaks down that fast, then there's something wrong
  7. I did'nt replace mine, because I figure if the lights only get so bright when I rev, then the regulator must be regulating. I could be wrong, though.
  8. I let mine go for a year, and just changed it... It was as clean and clear as the day I put it in there.
  9. Same thing happened to me, but I have'nt figured it out yet. I looked at all the connections and they're all clean and tight. I replaced my bulbs 4 times, and I can watch mine blow. The lights don't get any brighter when I rev it, but it seems like it's the vibration doing it. They go 1 at a time. usually the tail light first, then the rest follow and go out within 30 seconds.
  10. 32:1 is a good ratio, depending on what oil you're using. some oils have a recommended ratio right on the bottle. I run mine 28:1 with yamalube. As for the color, it sounds normal, but I have'nt seen it, either. I like mine pretty dark. Different oils and fuels have different effects on the color, also.
  11. I'm not positive, but I think a good chrome job is more durable than powdercoat.
  12. Both needles need to be the same.
  13. Usually, when it gets colder out, you need to richen the airscrews. This would help it start easier, but you said your plugs are wet, so I'm confused.lol What is your elevation where you are? and how cold is it?
  14. Got a quick question. What exactly makes it "zero preload"? I have works double rates with rezzies, set up for desert/xc on the front. When the quad is at rest, I can lift up on the front, and it lifts about 6 inches before the wheels come off the ground. When I set it back down, it goes right back to where it was...sagging about 6 inches. I lifted my buddie's front end today with stock shocks, and as soon as I lifted it, the tires came off the ground. no slack. Would mine be zero preload?
  15. I don't even use the outer filter It would'nt fit in the airbox. It's been 2 years, and never had a problem. I use Maxima FAB-1 filter oil, and all the dirt sticks to the outside, and does'nt even make it through any of the filter fibers.
  16. I get mine for $2.00 straight from mikuni. The style is M28/1001. Go here, and to the left, click on distributers Mikuni Any one of those places will give you the right ones. The pilot is banshee specific. It's the only machine that uses that style pilot.
  17. That's about the same mine goes for. I got mine at dealer cost, though I wish I woulda known about that banshee, I would have got that instead.
  18. Changing to 40:1 will make it richer as far as air/fuel goes, but it's still risky. You should be ok, as long as you stay out of the mains(don't hold full throttle) and don't hold 1 throttle position too long. Go up and down with it. You might have to turn your airscrews in a little to get low end response.
  19. I hear that! I used to ride 30-50 miles a day. Now I'd probably drop dead if I rode 15. I have a nice mountain bike, now with only front suspension, but now I wish I woulda bought the full suspension model. My bike
  20. I found this when doing a search on "banshee long travel suspension" Long travel banshee
  21. there ya go, now you're tied with can't decide
  22. I was looking all ove for this thread. lol I'm not sure that they make the chromed slides for the banshee carbs. I can find out, though. I live 10 minutes from one of the largest mikuni distributers.
  23. I tried popping the choke, and it would help for a second, but then go back to sticking. I understand the vaccuum theory, but if it's vaccuum, where does the water come into play?
  24. I need my choke, so blocking it off is'nt an option.
