All those butt hurt kawi owners are just mad because kawi didnt make the banshee. YAMAHA BITCHES! Dont hate the players, hate the game tecate owners. I do love how people are talking about banshees on non banshee sites. Banshee FTW!

dcalsv02 replied to bansheechas's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Where do you live? its hard to reccommed an local shop if we dont know where you are from. Your descriptions of your problems are a little vague. -
This link works, thanks. I dont know how you guys were trying to access it but i was clicking on the site sponsor link on the hq homepage and that is where the error was coming from. Thanks for the correct link.

Can I put royal purple engine oil in my gearbox?
dcalsv02 replied to bigtizzles's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Lol ^^ -
I think your bike just will not shift or will have a hell of a time changing gears. I have not had this happen to me so i dont know for sure. Just my thoughts.

Sounds like your float is sticking. I would take your carbs off and clean all the jets, passages etc... and see how that does. May have to do a carb rebuild.

Dont get me wrong, i love cascade. They are the only local place i go for parts and advice on banshees. They are great. I graduated from MMI so i have a hard time letting anyone do work on my banshee because it is so much cheaper and enjoyable to do it myself. Banshee motors are super easy to work on compared to all the other, newer bikes. Its almost like working on an old 350 compared to these new cars that have 30 computers in them. You know what i mean....Grab a clymers manual and keep this site handy and you can build/ work on your own bike and save the labor money for more goodies!

As you can see, there are all different types of banshee enthusiasts on here. Some hate working on them, dont mind it, like it, and love it (im one of those), but we all have one commonality. We all LOVE to ride our banshees. Just get it fixed so you can ride and get infected like the rest of us. lol.

Assumming you are talking about cascade innovations, they are not a dealer. However, i dont know how their labor prices compare to site sponsors. To me they seem a little high whenever they quote me labor. I always do it my self and save the money.

Brand new 2010 yamaha banshee for sale
dcalsv02 replied to Johnny H-pipe's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Sounded like a scam anyways. Who buys a banshee to put in thier living room as a show piece....completely stock? Wierd. -
I frequent cascade quite a bit and i have asked them about thier porting and they do it in house themselves. I dont know anyone personally that has a cascade port. Give them a call and ask for Chris. I think he is the one who does the porting. I dont know how extensive thier porting is though (i.e. port timings, triple porting, etc.) I have two sets of cylinders and i was thinking about having cascade do one set and see what happens.

To be honest with you edge, I struggle with uploading pics on here also. Im hoping somone can chime in with a little help. -
I used to work at cycle gear, i ll give you a quick run down on helmets. zilla was right, safety wise you want a helmet that is DOT and SNELL (not shell, lol) approved. Almost any helmet, or salad bowl can get DOT approved, SNELL is the highest safety rating for a helmet. Most helmets have a removeable liner now a days. It makes it so much easier to clean the helmet and replace liners and cheek pads if they get f'd up. you want to helmet to fit real snug brand new. The pads and inner shell of the helmet will break in about an 1/8 of an inch (it may not seem like a lot, but it is) after a few trips, so dont get it too loose. The different brands of helmets will fit your head differently, so try on a few different brands within your budget and go from there. Cycle gear has great customer service, so if you dont like your new helmet you can usually exchange it out for a different one if you havent trashed the first one. KLIM has one of the lightest and most ventilated off road helmets out right now. Check them out. I have a fox v2 and i love it. IMO Shoei has the most comfortable helmets out period.

Bought bike with 2 into 1 exhaust

If you have to drag it to start it, its time for a top end. If you know nothing about it, you might as well just tear the entire motor down and check everything or have it checked. Sounds like you have a project on your hands. Get a clymers manual and become intimately famililar with this site's forums. Take a lot of pics. Keep us updated. -
Bought bike with 2 into 1 exhaust
dcalsv02 replied to edgehanger's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
When did you buy this bike? How long was it sitting if at all before you bought it. Does the bike run? need some details. Take that pipe off and see what is inside. The reason why i ask is because i have seen a bike that sat in a shop for a while and mice had a hay day with it, chewing up wires, Muffler Packing, etc. Curious if it was sitting for a long time that maybe mice did the same to yours. -
421 Serval w/R-2's vs Shearer Small Bore Dyno #'s
dcalsv02 replied to SuperMex's topic in Product Reviews
^^ I agree with everything except for the tire choice and suspension. But like you said, its preference. I really think that with a 421, you are going to need bigger tires. That 421 will spin the shit out of those 20's and you wont hook up. As for your pipes figaro, It depends on what type of riding you do and where you want the power. Most common recccomendations are t-5's (mid all around), Paul Turner mids (low-mid), pc's(all around), cpi's (top end), shearers (top end), r-2's (mid and beyond), etc....Also i would say dont waste your money on elka's, they are ridiculously expensive. A good set of works will be a good starting point. I cant wait to see these dyno results. -
With those 20 inch tires you probably wont have to worry about the front end coming up too much because you have a 421 and you will probably be spinning the rear tires like crazy. I would say you may have issues getting traction. I have a stock cyl mild build with 22x8x10 8 paddles and im having issues with traction. I would reccomend 22x8x10 9 or 10 paddles with a +4. jmo

I have also just been convinced to switch to alky now. How bad is the consumption compared to race gas? Also, what needs to be changed out to run alky?
