  1. Ok, I cut it off. Got one side done, the bike ran a lean at WOT before the new reeds and cages so I stepped the main up one size. Gotta do the other side this weekend.
  2. I actually found a thread with this exact title when I used the search function and I believe I got my answer. I was installing my chariot reed cages and the boot "stuffer" or whatever the hell it is won't let me install the factory intake because the rubber is made to go into the factory cage and my chariot cage won't allow that. Can I simply cut off the rubber so the intake will fit flush against my new cage? While I'm at it should I try to port the rubber out with like a dremel or something? Or would I be pissing in the wind?
  3. ok, i found a bottom end rebuild walkthrough that had some decent pics, so I think i figured it out. But what keeps the gear from going past the gear that it needs to mate with to start the motor?
  4. Ok so I took the clutch cover off of my banshee to put in my new billit water pump impeller. That was super easy, but when I took the cover off, the goddamn kickstart gear assembly fell out. How does this thing go back in? There is a lobe on the back of the shaft that will strike the case when the kickstarter is pushed down. I cant find a good picture, don't know anyone that has a banshee, and don't have a manual. This sucks...
  5. ok, I won't use it. I saw some other guy say he used 10w40 royal purple. What should I use that I can pick up from the auto parts store? There is no atv dealer for like 20 miles. I like using lemonade as antifreeze cause I figure its the same as using water and if you run out of shit to drink when your out riding you can........yeah.
  6. Ok, I know there is alot of opinions on this subject so I wanna keep this simple. I just wanna know if I can put good old 10w30 royal purple synthetic motor oil in my banshee transmission. I wanna make sure its not gonna destroy anything. Some people said you can put just about anything in there, others say use ATF. The manual says SAE 10w30? I know it might not be the best thing, but will it work??
  7. Thanks for the info, i'll have to pick up another couple jets just in case. I'll let you know what happens.
  8. I've heard that reeds don't require re-jetting. I'll do a plug burn. I have 280 mains from the Toomey kit. What size would I wanna go with?
  9. I realize it uses more oil. It also uses less gas so wouldn't it run a tad leaner and be more likely to detonate than a richer mixture? Or does a heavier oil mix run cooler?
  10. Hey guys i'm back from Afghanistan and i have a chariot cool head with 20cc Noss domes and chariot reed cages with boysen duel stage reeds to put on my banshee. None of the shit came with instructions. I think i can figure it out though. I live at 4300 ft elevation and can only get 90 octane gas around here, will I be ok with these domes? The rest of my motor is stock except the T5 exhaust kit i have. Jetting seems spot on the way it is now. I asked Noss machine about the domes and i'm pretty sure they said i should be able to run as small as 19's on pump gas and be fine, but I must have deleted their e-mail. I was talking with the local yamaha shop and i told the guy I ran 32:1 gas mix, and he told me after I installed the stuff to bump it down around to 28:1 to be "safe". After I left it didn't make sense to me. Wouldn't that kinda lean it out? I guess he was refering to the dome size. What was he talking about?
  11. Hot as balls, unless you have a cool head. Probably around 200-220. Cool head 180-190. Mine used to blow antifreeze on the pipes after a good hard lap around the track in the middle of summer bone stock. There is tons of posts about this. Google it bro, good luck
  12. Thats about what I paid for my 05 brand new never serviced never started with full factory warrenty last summer. Oh, there was over 600 dollars in bolt-on shit on it. Gotta love the combination of over stock and a horrible economy. Old girl sat on the showroom floor for 5 years.
  13. Doesn't anyone have anything to say about this??
