  1. My motor is stock other than a cool head with 20cc. I don't plan to up the horse power for a while, nor do I plan to go extreme. Just want a well rounded and reliable bike. Welding it has been recommended to me by several people as preventive maintenance while its apart.
  2. No necessarily looking for cheapest. I am picky an want quality and no worries down the road.
  3. I have to rebuild my transmission. While I have it apart I want to have the crank welded. Where is the best place to have this done?
  4. I have black plastic which i love, but also picks up scratches by just looking at it. I kinda like the dull black primer look also. Has anyone tried scuffing the plastic up to get an even dull color?
  5. Yeah, think I'm going to get some knowledgeable friends to help me do it. Worst case, I pay someone to put it back together and most of the labor time is already done.
  6. So here is my real question. What happens when this bearing seizes? Does it just seize, or does it blow the whole transmission out?
  7. Thanks. I have a clymers already, I will read up on it. I have a few friends that may be able to help. Yeah, $500 of the $700 was labor.
  8. They have always treated me right, but after having them do the work they did this week, I'm not to excited to have to spend even more $$. I have tore boat motors and car motors apart and put back together with out problems, but for some reason I'm scared to do the banshee my self. Iv never had it or anything like it apart. It has also been recommended to have the crank welded while its apart by them and several others.
  9. I just took my banshee into cascade for a cool head and some carb work. While it was there he said it was idling in neutral and it lurched forward and died. The previous weekend it happened to me also. They said it was either the counter shaft bearing or a bushing from the second gear are going out. He said if its the bearing it will end up seizing up bringing me to a screaching halt. I have a feeling this is what it is since I have a small oil leak from the sprocket. He said i might be able to get a couple more rides out of it to get me thru the riding season. My question is, 1. Does this all sound right? 2. When this thing goes what other damage is it going to cause? He said the damage is already done and when it goes it will just have to be fixed. The quote to fix it now is already about $700 assuming other bearings don't need replaced.
  10. Please sign this to keep 103 miles of trails open in the oregon dunes. If the forest service goes with their plan, all tree shots, trails will be closed except for a few roads. Every one will be restricted to the open dunes. We need everyone to sign and help us fight back. We are almost out of time!!!!!!! This affects Florence, Coosbay and Winchester. We believe this to be the first step to closing the dunes all together. Here is the petition: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/3/stop-the-forest-service-from-endangering-or-dunes-atv-riding/ For more info look for Save the riders dunes on facebook for latest info, or www.savetheridersdunes.com
  11. Has anyone used maier plastic? I am looking at the carbon fiber looking plastic. Are they good quality? I don’t like the tabs on the radiator shroud but the rest of it looks good. Can you race cut the rear fenders with out screwing it up? I don't know how they apply the carbon fiber look.
  12. I just got a new banshee. Its been a long time since my last one. I cannot remember what oil ratio I use to run. It is stock with T-5s. I have heard every thing from 32:1 up to 50:1. What is the correct ratio? When I got the bike he had some mixed at what he said was 32:1 but it fowled plugs. Also I currently have Golden spectro. It was recommended to me at 50:1. But now I have heard it is a very dirty oil and I should run bean oil or amsoil - Dominator. I don’t know what to trust and what not to. Every ones opinion is radically different.
  13. Sorry, I am sure others have asked my same question before but I am thinking about a cool head. My bike is stock with T-5’s and K&N pod filters. From what I have gathered on the web it looks like I would need 21 domes. Is this correct? Can I still run pump gas and stock unwelded crank? Does this add any power?
