  1. Ill post up some pics of the carnage after i get off work in a few hours.
  2. Just a thought, but have you considered new paddles for the serval? I have a feeling that you are gonna be just spinning with all that new tq and hp on those 20 inch 9 paddles. 22x8x10 10 paddles would be my reccomendation. I guess it also depends on the type of riding you do.
  3. Bump for the engine technical area. I have a dome with some deto i think as well as damage from the bottom end rod bearings having a dance party on top of my piston.
  4. Thats what I thought. Are you still in Gunner? I did 5 in the Navy. Damage Controlman.
  5. Which branch are you in Chuy v?
  6. I did read the situation r-uk, and it was off topic. It is quite lame that you cannot ride your STREET LEGAL banshee on the road without getting hassled. I lived in Arizona and quads can be made street legal. I rode on the road down there all legal and the cops tended to frown at the two strokes, but they couldnt do anything about it because it was all legal. I wasnt razzing you, mainly the tools who are too cool to obey rules, or have common sense or courtesy. This thread went down hill real quick.
  7. if it is the stock head, have it checked for warpage. An after market head or a shaved stock head would be good options. An after market head allows you to switch out domes and mess with your compression.
  8. Are there copper crush washers on both sides of the brake line where it connects to the caliper? if so, maybe try new ones. torque the line to the proper tq.
  9. Some people lack education and common sense in this world. I think common courtesy can go a long way. I had no problems asking my neighbors if they cared that i rode my quad in our development or in the field next to it. no issues. do you think cops want to waste their time going to a residence for a noise complaint in the middle of the day? Hell no, they have better, more important things to do. At night is a different issue. I dont like cops disturbing me, so if i had the cops called on me for that, i would stop giving them a reason to harrass me, aka dont ride in that area. Sometimes the cops are the only people who can get through to those who are lacking that education and common sense.
  10. I was wondering because e85 is waaaay cheaper than race gas. If its hard on the motor and parts, then I will stay away from it for now. Just trying to save some money.
  11. Stock carbs, im assuming....If so, have the carbs been cleaned thoroughly? I would try that because it sounds like your jetting (as long as you have stock carbs) is pretty close. Is it ported? I would maybe go down on your pilot jet. no less than a 25.
  12. You guys are right, my fault. I was thinking of water wetter. My bad.
  13. But if you put domes and a timing plate on it, you will almost have to use higher octane since more compression and more timing means higher octane right?
  14. I wouldnt use engine ice. It will corrode your parts because it doesnt have anti corrosive properties like coolanol does. Just use coolanol.
  15. A couple of my friends are running E 85 in their turbo raptors. I am running full race gas. E85 is waaay cheaper. Can banshee's run on it? I was told that you have to jet 30% higher for E 85, i just dont know if it works with 2 strokes. Also and disadvantages or advantages would be great to know. Thanks ahead of time. I tried searching before I started this thread so im sorry if i am "beating a dead horse".
  16. Good Luck man! Hope you have a speedy recovery.
  17. Thanks guys. Ill get back to you.
  18. The cable is brand new. Only two weekends on it. I can feel the throttle (twist) close in my hand. The motor just stays revved. I had the motor leak tested when the Carb was rebuilt. It passed with no issues. I did notice when I switched to the single 35, when the bike wasn't running I could twist the throttle and feel the carb slide spring rubbing on each coil. I can't feel it while riding because its a banshee and it vibrates a little if you can believe that lol.
  19. This has happened 3 times while riding. When I chop the throttle to downshift or slow down the motor will stay revved up. If I flip the run switch off and on quickly and dump the clutch it will start running normal. I have one 35 pwk that was just rebuilt two weeks ago and I installed vforce3's when I re installed the Carb. It happened once or twice all weekend at dunefest last week and twice today just ripping in the field. Elevation between the two is sea level to 500 ish feet in my field.
  20. I noticed while at dunefest last weekend that it looks like I will need to replace the shift shaft (splines are disappearing and the shift lever is getting sloppy) is there any shift shaft besides the oem one that is reccommended?
  21. My first thought after i rode both of those bikes was that they are newer and probably have a more up to date setup than the outdated banshee's. The shifting just felt super solid and felt like you couldnt miss shift, i didnt have to pull up or push down as far with my foot to find the next gear. I run bel ray gear saver 80w in my trans. I just bought the shift star, i just havent put it in yet. Ill check on the shift shaft. I dont know what the cut trans is all about, so i will search for answers unless someone cares to explain it to me.
  22. I was at dunefest last weekend and got the chance to ride my buddies turbo raptor. the first thing i noticed was how solid and smooth his transmission felt when i would shift. Its a stock transmission. I also rode my buddies yzf 450r and his transmission felt the same. Not sloppy, nice and tight. Does anyone know what im talking about? My question is, How do i make my transmission feel that solid and tight? My banshee is a 99' and the transmission shifts and functions perfect, but it just feels a little loose compared to those other bikes i mentioned. What mods, if any can i do to make mine feel that good?
  23. I have PT mids and I freaking love them. I rode a banshee at dunefest last weekend that had cpi's and they had zero bottom end compared to my pt's.
  24. I would get more paddles for that 421. 9 paddles are not enough. atleast 10 paddles.
  25. You should ask that guy if he has recipts for the cam work. lol, Shaving the head will increase your compression, which will put more stress on the crank. More stress on the crank could cause it to fail faster. shaving the head is good to do, when the surrounding parts involved are able to handle the increased load.
