48 pilot, 160 main, CEL needles middle clip. I would imagine you would require more fuel than I.
-
I noticed you said drag ported. I've ridden drag ported motors and some of them literally have no nutz until the powerband. Anyway, Your best bet is to plug chop your way to happiness. The needle should not affect wide open throttle... 99.9%main jet and the rest is the idle circuit feeding the engine at WOT. If you are at part throttle when the hesitation occurs you need to adjust your needles or swap out for a different style needle. If it stumbles or hesitates when you open the throttle all the way, then it is an incorrect main jet. Either way, do a plug chop. That is your number one clue.
-
Then lean the needle out and up your main jet one size.
-
Probable air leak into the lean cylinder. The boot cracked on the carb that sits lower?

The brown plugs could have been result of a weak spark from a bad coil (which is also why it wouldn't get into any real rpm). The plugs might not have been hot enough to burn off any fuel. Generally, it is good practice to change one variable at a time and then test. You should only have replaced the coil or the jets, not both. Now you do not know what change produced what results.

Pretty sure there is at least 100 threads posted in the last year about YFZ shocks on banshees. Fox Floats are air shocks, correct? I think air shocks have a tough time with heavy loads like our banshee's front end. You'd have to talk to someone who owns them.
-
Id be looking into the ignition. A weak spark will essentially "blow out" at a given rpm but ignite the fuel fine below that threshold. The second clue is it ran fine and now is acting up. Test and try easy stuff first like continuity through all wires, plugs, spark plug boots, coil, you get the picture.

With my setup listed in the sig I burn through my 5.5gal tank in 2-2.5 hours. I'm always in the powerband, however. Not sure what improvement would be seen if trail riding for instance. Banshees are thirsty, I would expect a stock tank to last no more than 90 minutes of aggressive riding.

Hahahah, thats funny! Bump for ya.

helmet modification possibly

Duct Tape haha. I'm too busy listening to the sweet tune of the banshee to care about music. Once and a while I'll get a song stuck in my head like Kickstart My Heart (Motley Crue) that gets me jacked up though.... -
Welcome! Banshees are just as reliable as any other ATV when properly maintained. If the owner puts off preventative maintenance it will be more troublesome as it is not as forgiving as a 4 stroke. But, a 2 stroke is simpler by design, and the Banshee in itself is very primitive compared to new-tech 4 strokes. I strongly encourage purchasing a repair manual as this will help you work on it yourself. The money saved is an imediate gain and the knowledge is a long term gain. The banshee is cheap to upgrade and aftermarket parts are everywhere. My advice, find a friend with one or check out any dealers with a used one sitting around and test drive it. If you have never been on a 2 stroke the power will come on and it will make the timid scared. You get used to the rush quickly and within no time you'll be craving more! haha

Have you priced how much it would cost you to port the serval? At least you have a known-to-be-good cylinder not someone else's used setup.

hey guys quick question!

While that sounds good in theory, the sprocket I had gave me about 2 inches of ground clearance and the gearing was still very tall (and very close ratio...). The extra weight and awkwardness doesn't reallly make it a fun machine. When you do get upto speed the power is hard to control on a stock suspension. Its really not all that "awesome" as I anticipated. Maybe if I lived in the dunes where there was more space I would reconsider. Besides, the radiator is going to be touch to fit. You usually get more airflow on the road than you would off road. The air cooled motor I used got real hot. For comparison, my 421 serval is worlds faster in anything I do (unless we did a pull starting at 60mph, then it would win). But with the banshee's shorter gearing and lighter weight it really is a lot better. Lastly, I was told by a few guys that a YFM400 big bear rotating assembly and cylinder will swap over. If this is true, a ported head and a mild cam would make for a fun warrior. -
Says the guy who's got six pages worth of crying? Matt and I sure do seem to get under your skin don't we? I got other shit to do. It was fun. Hope you come down off of your anger high so you can sleep tonight. (oh, I'm well aware that just because you serve in the military does not make you proficient in hand to hand combat... I'm confident I'd still kick your little ass hahaha). Anyway, I'm sure it'll all be deleted by morning anyway. Night guys!

You'll be able to run away from that 450 if you port it!
-
Yawn, your starting to bore me now. Same old come backs for 5 pages.
-
Those sticks of lard prop up 390lbs on the bench 4 reps in a row. Whats your little ass do? haha. Matt rebuilt my shocks, too. Great turn around, real cheap, and I've gotten pictures of him working on the shocks. The guy knows shocks like you know dicks.

Looks good. What would worry me is not having a vin number. Is it stolen? Some states require the VIN for permits and registration (not sure if your state has any requirements). You have a great foundation with a hotrods crank (110mm or 115mm rod?) and forged pistons. Send out the cylinders to one of our site sponsors and they'll port it for your riding style and set up (and it'll be faster than your raptor, I promise). PS, I bet the banshee responded really well to the rear brake pedal with them sand tires on backwards. lol
-
I bet you get REALLY horny when she starts talking about dicks, don't ya? Between that and my muscles I bet you'll be going to bed with blue balls.

Fluid dynamics! When a fluid is forced from an orfice by means of pressure, it is directed in one path. However, when there is a vacuum or less pressure in which molecules move in to fill that void, they are drawn from any and all direction. This is why the front of the carb is shaped like a bell. Pod filters help the carb pull more air in because it is allowed to draw air in through a broader range of direction than what would be allowed by a length of tube. In short, yes you will lose some giddy-up.

Do I need to say more?

I might not be attractive to you, but you can't tell me the girls dig your cry baby attitude either! My fake arms are the size of your head (my dick too)

Too bad she'd never feel it....
