  1. That's brilliant AK !!
  2. Pull stem out ,clean lower stem brg and upper stem mount , use grease needle to lube brg ,(if it's not shot) I would use a "dry" type lube on upper mount. JMO , your result may vary .
  3. Either look for bowls with a drain or maybe drill and tap one yourself . The run it out of gas rout does not evacuate ALL fuel even if you could run it till it stalled on it's own. JMO ,your results may vary .
  4. If I'm thinking correct (it's early) , but isn't it for throttle cable ?
  5. Dude that sucks a BIG Donkey Dick !! obviously make a police report . But do ALL YOU can to find it your self , the police aren't going to do much. Good sugestions on looking for it or it's parts. Check CL (or KIIJI) close to you and any area within a four hour drive. Word to the wise , if it's a test ride , hold their drivers liscense. If you take a check (bad idea) ,copy DL info, take a pic of them and vehicle. Personally not a bad idea to take pics of peeps & ride in any Cl deals. It's a bitch of a world out there . Took a guy here in Detroit area 4-5 months to find his truck and Banshee WITH help of BHQ members.
  6. What kind of crank is it? Might want to get it magnafluxed if you are concerned. Take a closer look with a magnifying glass.
  7. Welcome to BHQ !! Take carbs apart ONE at a time and clean real well. Measure inside of carb at engine side for size.More info on set-up would be helpful , pipes ,air filter, riding elevation/temp. As far as jetting/carb tune most shops employ a mechanic named Ben Dover ,AKA Pay Out Your ASS. JMO, your results may vary.
  8. The cutaway (angled side) faces air cleaner. Make sure you have float bowls on correct carb (they are different). Make sure choke tube is on.
  9. Check choke tube between both carbs is on. Pull off float bowl off and check for dirt , tank might be filthy. Check pick-up coil gap ,.017- .018 (thickness of business card. One screw on carb is slide stop ,other is air screw. X-2 on compression test. Check float level . Is correct float bowl on correct carb ? Their different.
  10. Might try thread file , not sure if they're available in metric . Did you get it from someone in the Detroit area ? Seen one on CL , same description. Just wondering.
  11. Why do think you need new pistons?
  12. Wouldn't the shrader valve have to be at the end of the adapter ? Otherwise you have more volume to fill.
  13. As long as you don't get to aggresive with it. Especially if you need to see the # ontop of piston when done. I do know that Sea Foam will soften or disolve carbon. Some carb cleaners may also help.
  14. First off ,Welcome to BHQ!! Odds are most cylinders you might find will probably need a bore job anyway ,and you still have 4-5 bores still on your jugs. Save your $$ for other mods.
  15. Welcome to BHQ !! Lots of info on this site.

  16. Well I guess you could call Stanton Island sea level, lol . More info please .
  17. Also try to deal with site sponsers. First off they help keep this site up and running. Next is customer service , some E-gay site either might not care about feedback or just change site name and still sell crappy costomer service . JMO , your results may vary.
  18. I would start by cleaning carbs one at a time, make sure choke tube is on. Inspect carb boots and do air leak test. Does it rev up on each and every start-up, wether you "primed" it or not ? Rev-up might besticky throttle cable or slides.
  19. First , welcome to BHQ !! You get EXACTLY what you pay for . Namuras are cast (same as stock ) , Wiseco are forged therefore stronger . It will depend on your use . Next, are you sure about the piston size you have chosen ? .080 over ? You have measured your bore and it is .060 over now?
  20. Look at overall condition , was it rode hard and put away wet ? I saw an 87 on CL that looked better than some 97s . Put the front end up on a milk crate and check the ball joints (non replaceable) , and rest of suspension.
  21. How much time on the top end? Could be plug cap going bad /loose connection. Or air leak on right side , over compensating of jetting causeing build-up on left piston.
  22. Hey , welome to both of you !! Don't know if shop was to do more than clean and sync carbs , but not sure what exhaust "boots" you're refering to, a two stroke doesn't need bakpressure to run. It is for max power. If they THINK that's the problem , they have no clue. More info would be helpful in diagnosing problem. Jetting , TORS , air cleaner , what you have tried , etc. If the shop was supposed to make it run properly and didn't , thats a problem.
  23. Your 'Bud' should be able to measure the bore to determin the next size to bore to ,X-2 on not boreing more than necessary.
  24. A little more info would be helpful. What is it doing/ not doing? What are all carb jets ,needle clip? Timing ? Fuel ? I specifacally won't be able to help do to lack of specific knowledge. There are others here in the area that will help.
  25. Also check kick ideler gear bushing , snap ring.
