  1. Detonation would cause pitting, pitting and missing metal are the #1 signs of detonation looks to me like something got in there
  2. gncc and xcr are both great fronts
  3. I just meant,28mm is a good size,but i always like a single 33mm
  4. Sounds like your on the right track
  5. I mean when you had your cylinders ported, they raised the port roofs,if you use a spacer it will raise them even higher. If you throw the kit together with no additional porting,it will run,but it may not be optimal. Sometimes port jobs can be changed to work with 4mill cranks to make it right, sometimes they cant. Before i spent 700,have your cylinders looked at and find out exactly where your height and durations are, then someone who knows about porting can tell you exactly the right way
  6. Wait your at 64.5 and you want to jump to 66? Why would you throw away 1 and a half mm of bore. See if they can give you the kit with a smaller bore piston. I have ran 4mils with spacers and cut domes, cut domes are the preffered method, but spacer plates will work. If your cylinders are ported though, and you throw a spacer in there it could throw your durations way off and make it not run very well
  7. I really wanted to try them based on your opinion that ive seen on here, but im about broke and rmatv had free shipping. The ohstus cost about the same, but i couldnt find free shipping. Im just trying to get ready to play ride this season, lol
  8. I figured 9s would have better protection from rocks,I wanted to try ohtsu's but i ended up ordering standard rzr's The rzr's dont hook as well as some tires but they last me for freaking ever
  9. Just wandering the better rim and tire size is for trails and why?
  10. If you fill your radiator all the way up to the top,it will push some out,at least from my experience. I would start it up with the cap off and rev it real good. If you have an engine leak like a head gasket coolant will spray out sometimes,It should move and slosh around, but not spray out hard
  11. The aftermarket is bigger for banshees, but, Both bikes can still be built totaly from the ground up with aftermarket parts. Esr is about to start selling aftermarket cases for the 250r even. If i was always duning,i would go with a banshee,if i was trail riding ,i would go 250r i just bought a 250r,and the only bad drawback im seeing so far is that certain used parts are hot items, like factory plastic. People are starting to treat 250r's like car collectors treat 57 chevys.
  12. Another drawback is you wouldnt be allowed to ride at the places i ride
  13. Hp numbers in magazines like that are like mpg estimates with new cars. They could have measured at the crank,or just estimated.
  14. Your going to take a step down in handling unless you spend some $$$ on suspension
  15. Only draw back to the j arms for me was the upper bushings go out pretty quick. heres s pic of my old dentons
  16. Yeah having even psi is a good sign, sounds like your carbs may be the issue. ALways do a compression check with the throttle wot. ARe you taking the bowls off and the jets out and blowing compressed air through the passages. Whenever i clean i carb i completely take it apart. Choke, air screw, jets, ect. Make sure your getting spark too
  17. DId you kick both sides at WOT until the needle wouldnt go up any further? If your cylinders were within 5 or less of eachother i would say clean and adjust your carbs, and rebuild them if necessary, but if there really is 10 psi difference you might have a problem. I was thinking though,if its a new top end,if one side ran really rich for a few minutes the two sides might have starting breaking in differently, like one side sealing up the rings faster. If you get your carb deal straightened out,run it for a for a little while and see if it evens up
  18. h129 is a hot rods 4mm stroker long rod
  19. Motors should be comrpession tested cold. The throttle most be Wide open ,either by the thumb or by pliers or you will get a false low reading. The most important thing about a psi test as long as its up over 105 or 110 or so is how close they are together in compression. ANy more than 5psi difference in the cylinders and you will have a problem
  20. looks like it may have been tampered with
  21. THey are the worst pipe you can possibly put on a banshee
  22. Stock banseee and yfz wheels have a different offset, positive on the rear not so sure about the front
  23. The key point for me here is,one a bone stock motor,or a ported 4mil drag stroker,9 psi or more difference in the cylinders means somethings up,so the static psi did give you and answer.Even when banshee motors get really worn out,the psi can still be within 5. EVen if your motor is supposed to have 150 per side and your down to where you are, there is still a big difference between the 2
