  1. I wouldnt personaly use one in the woods,i use compression braking to much, but sounds like they are awesome for anything else
  2. Well you could start by buying a quality clutch and springs. that usualy works.
  3. The difference between the Dune and MX port is where the power is going to peak at in the RPM range. The dune is more of a top end power port, the mx is lower in the rpm range. the mx port will have more grunt. the dune will probably have more peak horespower, but it will be high rpm power. As for your crank seal,i would be sure its leaking before i did a complete teardown, thats a lot of work. There are ways to check that do a leak test. If antifreaze is getting into your combustion chamber, its probably the head gasket
  4. Sale has to be put on hold..............
  5. Here are the carbs. bodies/slides/needles ect... are in great shape. shoot me a PM. .One of them has blue vent hoses. 35mm keihin pwk air strykers. Madracing has dibbs on these carbs, but if he does not take them the sale is open to anyone. If he does not take them the price will be 250$ thanks
  6. Those look realy good man. I wish you could have done that before. You didnt have to send my money back just because i was worried. i would still like to buy them, but im guessing you wont sell now....... If i would have seen that view before i would not have been concerned.
  7. Maybe it is the angle of the pic that makes it look bent, but that could have been easily cleared up
  8. Dont port .100 over cylinders. A lot of people wont even bore their bikes to .100 over.Things are just getting to thin at that point IMO. You can buy a set of low bore cylinders for under 200 bucks if you look around. If you want,i know a couple guys who do AWESOME port work for banshees in the 300-350 dollar price range wich is cheap.
  9. If your going to do both eventualy,i would do an over ride first so you didnt have to split cases again
  10. If you sucked in a bunch of sand i wouldnt run it again until you checked out the bottom end. You could even have sand stuck in the bottom end, then you put your new top end on and boom,
  11. It doesnt look that bad in the video, but i would have to see it up close. Even if the inside is scraped up,i have smoothed them out before and used them. This probably isnt optimal, but it will get you buy. Even if the seal doesnt fit perfectly, you can run without the seal to just get buy if you really want to ride. But this is in no way a permanent fix,and your bearings will wear faster. Carriers are a dime a dozen though, and if you are in the least bit worried i would just buy another carrier
  12. check the plug caps to. I know its rare for them to break but i had a honda 250r recently, that was missing, and sputtering, and i tried EVERYTHING. I even replaced the whole electric system/besides the plug cap. I actualy ended up switching out the cap kind of sarcasticaly, and it fixed it. this probably isnt your problem, but its worth a check
  13. I guess it would be good to know what type of riding.
  14. I would say if it is adjusted correctly, that your metal clutch plates are warped or your basket has some grooves
  15. I would go with porting if you dont mind taking it apart. If not porting i would go with milled head and timing advance
  16. I have re-used some horrible carriers. I have had axles i had to beat out with a BFH,and it took forever. And i actualy had to use a dremel tool,to cut the outer races of the bearings out, then knock them out. sometimes it can be a horrible bitch.
  17. No you dont HAVE to get them ported, but IMO not porting them defeats the purpose. The thing with cubs is that even "unported" the ports are still very aggressive. So your still going to have drag style port timing. I may be wrong but im sure some other people will chime in and clear it up With the money you spend on unported cubs. You could totaly build an awesome stock cylinder motor.
  18. This is funny. Last summer at happy hollow in peebles ohio i was on my 87(it belonged to my GF at the time) It was all stock except for some REALLY old bills pipes. They have a 800ft drag strip that is measured at 300ft--500ft--and 800ft. There was a guy there on a raptor 700 that was one week old. Everyone always plays around on the dragstrip it is usualy the center of attention. Well he kept waving at me to come over and race him but i kept refusing, and this went on for a while, everytime i was near the strip he would try to wave me over. Well finally i gave in,and lined up,and to my surprise actualy,i was ahead the whole way, even got him off the line. His front wheels were about 1-2 feet behind my back wheels @ 500ft Well we pull around and he says,"lets go again,i need to get a better start". Second time he gets me off the line, never pulls ahead and i had passed him by the time we were @300ft. We pull around again and he says "we need to switch sides, your side has better traction". So we switched and i outran him 2 more times. It was funny. He asked me what year it was,i said 1987. Point is,A decent running banshee with t5's should be able to take a stock raptor everytime as long as you can launch it good and you have traction. I wish i would have had a damn video camera that day
  19. No they will be used mainly for trail riding/play riding
  20. Im looking for some aftermarket J arms, preferably +2 but stock width is fine, thanks!
  21. I would check the most simple things first. Fouled plug would be the very first thing i check on a 2 stroke, did the choke tube between the carbs come off?
