Raptor 700's and 450's arent as slow as most people think they are especially against non ported banshee's Its very easy to make banshee's faster for way less money, but stockish vs stockish the 4pokes arent to bad.

Stock suspension doesnt even handle a stock motor i would do suspension mods.

I will say one thing,i have tried our dynoport 2:1 pipe on several quads, and i believe it is one of the most horrible pipes i have ever tested
-
UH.........who? what?
-
Ya this does seem a little wierd, you need to explain more of this situation, you say you have home insurance at 16?how does that work? Did he walk to meet you? Why were you selling your most prized possesion? Why did you just say PA,its a pretty big state. If your banshee really did get ripped im sorry, but this is sounding a little fishy

Trued and Welded Crank
Burt Reynolds replied to Banshee Rider239's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
they balance it and weld it so it stays balanced -
The orings go behind the end cap. not between the stinger and tube where the allens are

The numbers still arent that big of a difference. At least not enough for me to either love or hate one or the other. We go on a lot of long rides, and the thumb throttle tension alone for my part is worth it. I see your point though, the dual is more powerful on the dyno. The singles just always feel snappier to me. Now on our 4mil thats a different story, two 35's on that monster
-
I dont see how you prove your point against a single carb by posting dynocharts that shows a dual setup is actualy less powerful for a lot the rpm range. If someone is building a low end machine i dont see how your charts wouldnt make someone like a single even more. Ya your losing a few on top but my argument for a single has never been about peak hp. I have never felt the need to strap my quad to a machine to see if i should enjoy riding it or not. I bolt stuff on and ride,if i like it more i keep it.

If you run stock pistons on 110 rod stroker you still need to either cut the head or run a spacer. The 795 is not a "stroker" piston,it is a longrod piston. If you run a 4mil long rod with the 795's you still need a spacer or cut domes. The added 5mm pin height on the 795 is made to compensate for the longer rod,you still have to compensate somewhere else for the added stroke. Even if you run a 795 with a 110mm rod stroker you will end up with negative deck height or the pistons would hit the crank Of course theres lots of crazy setups, and im sure someone has set up something im not aware of

powervalved jug conversion
Burt Reynolds replied to 2stroke in my blood's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
The rz350 electric is different. I remember i was looking to convert to rz350 electric but i needed the stator/cdi/ect,basicaly the whole deal so i decided not to do it. The older rocket pipes clear the rz cylinders i believe. -
Does anyone produce a stroker piston? I was only aware of the 795's long rod piston.

reliability of a stock vs 4mill
Burt Reynolds replied to marcboy62's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
With a 4mil your going to wear some things out faster, like clutches/clutch baskets/chains/sprokets,but they are reliable as long as you take care of them. I did a dune 4mil and destroyed the stock clutch and basket in just a couple months. -
Is that your banshee you have now nick? LOL you saw how my banshee with fmf gnarlies and a single 33mm pwk ran at big rock nick, that thing was a freakin beast. My favorite mod to a banshee by far, some people just cant stand that people disagree with them.

looking for new carbs, 35mm AS or 34mm pjs?
Burt Reynolds replied to SuperMex's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I think they way the pj combines the idle and choke circuit is annoying but they work ok -
I had close to the same setup, and was running a 170main--42 pilot--needle in the middle
-
Im pretty sure the connectors will be different, but you could always swap stators out,or splice it. If the tors works hook it up and sell it,if it dont just unplug it.

got my 4mil HJR running....but is this normal?
Burt Reynolds replied to blubyyou's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Thats crazy that you said that.We had a mystery knock in the bottom end of our 06 that i just fixed today, and the culprit was the damn clutch basket -
Quick question about my port timing
Burt Reynolds replied to SlowMoe's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Ok i see what your saying. I have just never seen that before. Thats a neat idea i wander how much it actualy helps. That horseshoe shaped exhaust part looks like a big ring catcher to me,maybe thats why the guy isnt running them anymore. -
Quick question about my port timing
Burt Reynolds replied to SlowMoe's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Thats wierd,do the boost side intake ports lead directly to the transfers and not into the crank area? Seems like with those boost ports when the piston is on the down stroke and the skirt passes the intake it would push up some of the air/fuel back up in the intake area instead of up through the transfers. -

Your idle is set to low, they all do it. I always set my idle just above that noise. -
Exhaust port roof shape vs power characteristics
Burt Reynolds replied to SlowMoe's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Here ya go. 1.Triple extra boost ports on banshees do just about nothing. Some people may have triple port cylinders that run great, but it not because of the triples. 2.You do not want to have the exhaust as wide as possible, its a give and take thing, the wider you have it the faster you will eat rings, same with the transfers. You need a happy medium for your riding style and mods, and piston style and shape. 3.You want to have space between your exhaust port and transfers,i was told at least 2mm. 4.From what i was told by several builders, and from mcdizzy, you want the transfers that are closer to the exhaust port aimed where they blow mixture straight across the top of the piston, and the other transfers to blow more upward. As well as running good it helps cool the rings. The transfer tunnels need to have a nice radius to them. 5.In most cases the transfers need to open/close up at the same time,so the the port roofs need to be even. I have seen some builders stager the primary and secondarys though. 6.You dont want the transfers and intake polished, the rough surface will aid in breaking up the fuel air more. 7.Making all the holes big is not what makes hp. 8.A good way for a novice like me to check someones work,is to measure from the deck to the port roofs,to see how even or uneven they are. A mm off here or there may not seem like a lot,but with porting it is a lot. These are about all the porting standards, guidlines that i know -
what size carb
-
break one of the other carb to be even, file both the broken ones flat and smooth
