  1. Is your motor missing, or cutting out, or spuddering, and if so what rpm range, low, medium or high? Or does it just seem low on power?
  2. Yea, put dual carbs back on. lol
  3. Yep, i hope you get it figured out.
  4. A dirty K&N doesn't let dirt in it just don't let as much air in..
  5. banshee spuddering and cutting out under load you should read the above link it might help you. You are checking to see if they are open, if they are good they should read real close to 5 ohms, you unscrew the plug cap off the end of the wire and check it were the wire goes in and were the plug tip goes in. These fail alot and if you don't know they are there they are hard to diagnose, i had a friend with this problem and he thought it was a jetting issue and first he went way rich and that didn't do it so then he went way lean and smoked a piston, and found out later it was bad plug boots.
  6. Are you running a spacer plate for the longer stroke? if so you need to get your head cut .080 and take out the plate and it will run WAY better.
  7. I don't want to sound like a broken record but i would check the 5 ohm resistors in the plug boots, you can get replacement ngks or get the ones without resistors but then you need to be sure to run a resistor plug or you can damage your cdi. You can check them with an ohm meter,or just get new ones on $6 each.
  8. I have cut a few fly wheels at work on a brake lathe and took off .090 off each side of the magnets, i don't know how much weight that is.I have been told you don't wnat to take off a whole lot more than that.
  9. I run vito fat bastards on my cub when i run inframe's, i like them, i just don't like having the same pipe as everyone else and they seem to run hard. They are made by shearer but to vito's specs.
  10. Make sure you have some type of lube on then so they don't get cut there not that bad to put on.
  11. Obviously it is best to split the case, but i have put new pistons in my bike at camp on several occassions, i always dumped my mixed fuel in the case and alot of compressed air, this works in a jam and is better than not riding my bike when i am out camping, but you are taking a chance.
  12. There is a groove in the pipe at the flange were the o ring goes.
  13. Cant you also screw your crank up by using the wrong puller that is what i have been told,if heard you can make the crank pin slip out of phase especially if it is not welded.
  14. They are not big flange pipes are they? did you install the orings were the pipe hooks to the head?
  15. SWEET
  16. Could be blown resistors in spark plug cap ends, you can buy ngk replacements.i have had this same problem before, something to check i have seen them go bad alot. You can check them with an ohm meter i think they are 5 ohms resisrors, or you can get the caps that don't have resistors but then you have to be sure and run a resistor spark plug, if you don't have a resistor in one or the other it can damage your cdi.
  17. DON'T drink through a straw or suck on anything, it will cause you to get dry socket
  18. Sounds to me like you are doing the right thing, i respect the fact that you are not going to expierment on your friends bike
  19. I spray my bikes down with pledge furnature polish before i go riding, don't get it on your seat, this works awsome bikes look like new and the wax leaves no residue.I also use it on my pickup.
  20. By far, one of my sons have a 450 and they jump and handle awsome but not set up for comfort, there set up for the track.
  21. I think it's like comparing a caddy to a vette, the 450 being the vette, and the new caddys are'nt slow.
  22. You could just leave the choke half way out until the bike is warmed up,i have to do this on cold days.I think that is what that half way detent is for on your choke.
  23. If your carbs are leaking alot of fuel you could also have a stuck float, you can tap on the float bowl with the handle of a screwdriver,or pull your bowls again and recheck them for debri and make sure your needle to your float is clean.Sometimes you have to remove the needle and blow air through the fuel inlet.
