  1. ALOT cheaper
  2. Here is a link to a chain calculator  Chain length calulator
  3. I just stick mine on the bench grinder and do it myself
  4.
  5. Is the choke tube in place, the little hose that goes between the carbs?
  6. It's when you use a hone , i like ball hones, usually it's attached to a drill and you put a new cross hatch pattern in the cylinder to break in the new rings.
  7. Get your crank welded if it's not
  8. I would do a compression check.
  9. You CAN'T go up to the next piston size without getting it bored. You could by the SAME SIZE piston if the bore is still in spec.Your piston skirts could just be worn or collapsed and just need replaced with a good hone job.
  10. I have heard alot of good things about pro circuit pipes for your riding style but i have never personaly had any.
  11. I can't tell you, i am not done spending on my banshee's nor will i ever be.
  12. Is your crank welded? i think it should be to keep it reliable, those kind of mods could cause your crank to spread. I have had one spread and take out the main bearing on the stator side, it was even welded but the weld broke.
  13. That may be true..you can occasional pick up a used Cub for about the price having stock cylinders ported...I guess if you can do that, and move, and broaden the powerband to your liking, then do it. (Note: I have no experience modifying a Cub in that manner, nor have I seen it personally or know if it can actually be done.) I love that car in your sig!!!
  14. Yes, you need a puller ( NOT a 3 jaw ) and i use a tie down strap wrapped around the flywheel and the foot peg to hold it from turning when you break the nut loose or an impact. You DEF want to do the timing mod it makes a HUGE diff. Q#56:How do I modify my stock stator plate to advance the timing? A#56:First of all, you need to make a mark on the stator plate to use as a reference for advancing the timing. Once the stator cover and flywheel are removed (see Q#47), etch a mark on the stator plate on the right side (or towards the rear of the bike) of the stator plate where the upper and lower case halves meet. This mark will be your
  15. Could be blown resistors in coil wire caps, if they are stock they need replaced anyway.NGKs about $6 a piece.
  16. I thought it was a little over priced until i seen he through in the reed stops
  17. This is one of the best mods i have done to my bike, if you can't shift it then what good is all that power and don't forget the lockup clutch.
  18. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ What he said.
  19. O M G !
  20. Yea, when a clutch starts slipping it is usually under a heavy load in the higher gears,i am not sure what would cause a 2nd gear only problem. It is a constant mess tranny do you hear any stange noises when this happens.
  21. AV gas at florece airport was $3.75 a gallon last i knew of but it might have went up.
  22. I run a set of sock ported reed cages and boysen reeds on one of my bikes and they work good, i also had them on my cub and liked them.I think my V-2s work better, i have been thinking about trying V-3s.
  23. I don't like pulling studs out of aluminum when i can help it, my mod quad head uses seals instead of o rings, and i think they seal better and my trininty head uses no seal at all.I had a pro design head and i sold it. I had a few leakage problems but the main reason i sold it is that the coolant doesn't flow properly through the head and cylinders. The way the head is designed it lets the coolant shoot straight through the head across the top of the domes and doesn't make the coolant go down and flow through the cylinders coolant passages, were as say for instance a NOSS head has defectors built into the head which makes this happen for ALOT better cooling, other heads out there also have done this. If you look at a factory yamaha head gasket it all so blocks of the right passages to make the coolant flow how it should. This is my opinion after the reasearch i have done, and after the different people i have talked to, i know there are alot of people that like pro design heads but i do not.To each there own
  24. If you go to the general banshee discussion section of this site there are some good x mas specials going on, they have cool heads and alot of other parts on sale. I like V force reeds i still have V-2 reeds, have not tried V-3 yet.
  25. You could have a worn pressure plate in your clutch pack. When they wear thin it does not put enough clamping pressure on your clutches.I had this same problem on my drag bike when we ran it up on the dyno the clutch started sipping at around 80hp and i even have a lockup clutch, took it apart and the clutches looked fine, replaced the worn pressure plate and now life is good.I don't know the spec on the plate but it is something to check.
