  1. Are you shutting your fuel off when it is sitting?
  2. How aggressive of port job do you have? I had a blaster that had a pretty wild port job and it went through a set once a year. It had extra boost ports added and it put alot more pressure on the reeds.
  3. If the timing is not advanced that would help, at least +4. A heavier flywheel? Don't they make a woods riding one that is heavier than stock?
  4. Say what
  5. Yes they are stronger, but stock pistons will last a long time.
  6. Sounds like the stud that sticks between the return spring on the shift shat could have came loose or broke. I had one break one time but the broken piece came out of the case easy.It is not a blind hole the piece can vibrate and fall into your trans.
  7. Advancing your timing +4 is a good place to start. You should notice more on bottom and rev up a little quicker. It's a good mod to do and you should not have to rejet.
  8. Why switch pipes if your motor is set up for t-5s ?
  9. I would also bump your pilot jet to 27.5 stock is 25.
  10. When i would ride hard out in the dunes hillshooting before i put foam in my shroud coolant would drip out of my rad over flow hose and drip on my right pipe, after i put the foam in it never did that anymore so i know it works well.I always jet for max power and stay in the pipe alot and i am a bigger guy so i would build alot of heat. The air will take the path of least resistance and go around your rad and out the side vents on the tank cover and not through the rad core. Some air will go through but not all of it. One of my buddies that i ride with even wired in a computer cooling fan into his high beam light switch and stuck it in the big lower holes on the front shroud, it worked pretty good.He would use it when we would hill shoot all day down in the trees were there is not much air flow and you are stringing your motor out all day.
  11. A Vito's POWER piston is meant to be used on a non ported cylinder, they are use to change the port timings without porting the cylinder.
  12. I remove my rad shroud and put sticky foam tape around the outside of my rad. When i put the shroud back on it seals the gap between the shroud and rad. I have done this to all of my banshee's it makes a HUGE difference. When you are doing tree shots all day at the dunes you are not moving alot of air through your rad. This mod forces the air, all the air through your rad instead of letting some go around it so it cools your bike ALOT better. It only takes a few minutes to do if you use foam sticky tape and you don't have to make anything, and it wont rub a hole in your rad.
  13. I just read through this post and it looks like some people say replate it, and some people say try muratic acid,i know that acid works on a stock banshee cylinder but not sure about nickasil. Call and ask a builder that has used it, or pm a site sponser and ask them what they think then make your decision.
  14. I would stick with 2 carbs any day for any kind of riding.
  15. If it was a good quality chain to begin with i would reuse it as long as no links were bent. Make sure you put the clip on the master link on in the right direction.
  16. Might as well upgrade to a pancake bearing while you are in there.
  17. You might need a new shift shaft, the shaft that your shifter bolts to. I have had my bike start shifting bad and thought that i had tranny problems and found that it was just a bad shift shaft. On the end that contats the shift star pegs that double pawl and spring gets worn out. They cost about 35$ hopefully its not a internal trans or shift fork problem.
  18. Could just need a set of spark plugs, or maybe plug boots. Could also check your reeds.
  19. I would not want to lean my motor out by letting run out of fuel every time i was done riding, your motor can start to run away with no load on it when it goes lean.
  20. Did you accidentally swap the slides?
  21. Yes you can take out the cushions on a stock clutch with no problems, and also it makes your clutch grab better.I never put them back in.
  22. Atf lubricates well and it holds up to heat very well, type F also has grabbing agents built into it so your clutches dont slip, atf also does not rob hp and it does not cost very much and you can get it anywere. If it holds up in a automatic trans and torque converters it can hold up in a banshee. Alot of guys run it.
  23. Do you have an override trans? I dont think lockup clutches work well unless you have an override, it's hard to get the clutch to release to shift with a lockup.
