I was not expecting to see a bear as they usually get out of the way long before you see them. But I came hauling around a corner and it was standing in the trail. I slamed on brakes and locked up the rear, so she stalled right in front of the dam bear. Lucky the dust and noise scared it off.
I grew up in Africa, and lived in places where it was common to see lions and elephants every day, but bears I dont really know about.

I was riding with a guy on a Can Am 800. That thing is a beast. It weighs over 700lb, but it hauls ass on the trails. and it ploughs through the snow pretty good too.
