Ran like a raped ape
Read some of the stickies at the top of the jetting forum and search Banshee jetting FAQ on the web. That will explain to you how to set your carbs correctly.
It feels good to learn to do something yourself. Just have patience and ask for advice if in doubt.
Guessing and rushing will only end badly.
From your last post I think you had FMF pipes and K&N filter and you were at 300 feet or something.
I had the same setup with airbox lid on and no snorkel an ran 300 mains and 27.5 pilots. (FMF pipes like 27.5 pilots)
If you don't re jet, you will melt you motor for sure.
I was running Fatty's and K&N at similar temps and elevation with 300 mains, 27.5 pilots and needle on the middle clip. Ran a little rich with the airbox cover on, but I was happy with that.
just curious to where he was planning on sendin my cylinders out this summer since ive heard so much good things about him
Quick, add some punctuation before Loco loses it again
I just got a package from Kevin with my ported cylinders and a few other goodies. Looks awesome and I cant wait to get it all together.
Just over 3 weeks turnaround with 2 weeks of that in the mail to and from Canada is pretty dam good.
Now all I need is some warmer weather to melt all the snow on the trails.
I read some time back that you can have problems with graphics staying stuck to aftermarket tanks.
Does running a Clark or IMS tank have any advise on preparation before applying the stickers, or brand of graphics that work.
I ride with mostly 4 strokes, and the extra few gallons of fuel will come in real handy on the trail. But a plain tank will look a bit shitty without any graphics.
I am looking at buying a cordless impact wrench.
What torque range should I consider buying. I don't want to get something that wont be able to take the clutch bolt off.
Stock jetting is a #200, so 8 up is a #280. 280 may be a bit rich though
Start with the stock pilot, maybe 1 size up if needed.
If you want to get some performance out of your pipes, take off the snorkel at least, or run an open airbox.
1 cc is the same as 1 ml is the same as 1cm3.
Your banshee takes 1.5litre (1500ml) when you change the oil and 1.7litre (1700ml) if you have had the clutch cover off.
If you only put in 1200cc or 3/4 of the oil required it should not be leaking.
Overfilling slightly wont do anything to your motor
You don't need a mic, just use a ruler. Do it right or leave it alone. It will only cuase headaches otherwise.
If it only started after you worked on the carbs, you have got dirt in the needle and seat or more likely sit the floats wrong and the bowls are filling up too much.
