  1. Years ago I put a new clutch and shift shaft in my RZ 350. Everything was great until I looked for neutral during the test ride. somehow I got neutral between 5th and 6th. Rode the bike for about 4 months before I ripped it apart and got it right. Needless to say I was not impressed with myself for doing that.
  2. Beating tranny's shaft. Sounds kinky
  3. Wear it. Your buddies might give you grief about wearing armor, but at some stage everybody falls. I would rather be called a pussy and be able to stand up after a bad fall than spend 6 weeks in pain hoping I don't sneeze because because ribs got cracked in a rollover. Getting an injured buddy out from a remote trail is not easy. My armor has a full back, chest, elbow and forearm protection, so all I really need to add is some knee guards. I know I ride too fast on narrow winding mountain trails through trees and rocks in BC, and that sooner or later I will fall, so I am prepared for it. By the way Loco, I think you must have way too much free time to have found a link to a video like that. makes you wonder........... Just kidding
  4. Graphic Auto Accident I almost cried when I saw this picture. It is absolutely gut wrenching. It shows the importance of being properly strapped in. A friend sent this photo of a horrible highway accident in Germany . The picture may be kind of hard to take for some of you. If you look closely, you can see what appears to be some survivors of the accident still in the wreckage. Although the picture is quite graphic, it makes you realize how quickly our loved ones can be taken from us. My friend stayed on the scene to help and, even though he performed mouth to mouth on quite a few of them, none of those survived.
  5. Because I can. Ask a stupid question and get a stupid answer.
  6. I want to change from stock to a coolhead with domes. Just got to figure out what size domes will work best.
  7. Thanks guys. I will be sending them from Canada to California, so that doubles the cost right there. Planning a new top end and porting for a winter, and maybe a new head and Clark 5.5 gal tank.
  8. Anybody know how much a set of cylinders weigh. I am trying to get an idea of shipping costs to send them off to get ported
  9. Does anybody run a full RZ motor. A RZ weighs 330 lb and had a claimed top speed of 115mph. Way faster than a Banshees top end. Just wondering how the RZ transmission performed off road.
  10. Have a look at the installation instructions from K&N. They call for different size jets in each carb. After I read that, i decided to go with an outerwear and kept the air box lid without a snorkel.
  11. Thanks for the input. I am running an outerwear, so should help to keep anyting getting through the filter
  12. I have recently added FMF fattys and a K&N with mod quad adapter to my banshee and set the jetting for sea level with the sites help. She runs great with no bog, maybe a little rich but I can live with that. My question is. I ride mostly on forestry trails in BC and can go from around sea level to above 4000 feet in a few hours riding. I understand that this will make the mixture richer. If I ride for long periods at higher elevation than I am set up for, will it help to remove the air box lid to flow mare air or will it make too little difference to the mixture. Setup: 2003 Banshee, stock engine FMF Fattys K&N Air box with lid and no snorkel. 300 Mains 27.5 pilots 2 turns out on the air screw Temperature around 68
  13. I have a stock 03 banshee and am installing a FMF Fatty pipe and K&N filter with a K&N powerlid. I live in Vancouver Canada and run at sea level with 32:1 premix ratio. Ave temperature here is around 70 to 75f. FMF recommends 260 main with the needle on the 3rd clip and air screw at 1.5 turns on a machine with no other mods. K&N recommends 340 mains with needle on 5th clip and air screw at 2 turns on a machine with no other mods. What is a happy medium to get me going.
