I Know Someone Can Help Me With This Probem
Meat replied to sweetshee4312's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Fuckin right Blue Duece !!! I think its a worse crime when people impose thier will on me, tell me what I can and cannot do, from people who have never enjoyed or even tried a bowl of green, scolding another man for his own personal choices. As for the test. Water and time are your best freinds. Start drinking now, spit alot and try to sweat alot. Get your heart rate up, so your pumping more blood and burning fat. THC is stored in your fat cells and usually takes ateast 2 to 3 weeks to clear from your body. Never give em your first piss of the day, dont give em the second piss either. Give em the damn 5th piss of the day, and make sure its 99% water from the gallons you've been chuggin' down the past 2 weeks. If the test comes up, and your sure your not clean. Buy some of the "clean out" drinks they sell at headshops. You drink it 30 minutes before your test, it coats your stomach and doesnt allow anything to enter your body via your stomach. You drink it down and take a piss about 30 minutes later, then you drink water. The water doesnt get absorbed in your blood stream, it passes right to your bladder and eventually through your cock and into the little piss cup. No contamanates get into your pee and your test comes out clean. A bottle usually cost about $10 bucks and tastes terrible with a hint of berries. Its thick like cough medicine so it coats your gut. It works -

dont do it Bill. dont do it. dont ride it for awhile, recover some more physically and mentally. Learn from your mistakes and keep riding like you know you can, fast and full of adreline, but safe. If you sell that Banshee, you lose. Now if you just dont care about losing your Banshee, and your ready to "take it easy", go buy yourself a big cushy Polaris and enjoy. I''ll still respect you. There's no way I can understand what you went though with your wreck, both physically and mentally. But think about keeping that Banshee and riding it just a tad slower I also think subconsiously(sp) you want to keep that Banshee and that why you started this thread, hoping someone will give you a good reason to keep yer quad.

Polaris trailblazer 250 and the discontinued Scrambler 400 are both 2 strokes. Suzuki lt80 is a 2 stroke. Cant forget the Blaster. Like mentioned, the GasGas 300 only has 2 strokes. There's a Polaris utility quad that's a 2 stroke, I think its the 330 TrailBoss or something like that. And iv heard the same thing about closed course racing 2 strokes are exempt from the new emission laws. Iv also heard that with the correct exhaust pipe system, you can get two strokes to pass the new emission standards. Think catalytic converter. sweetshee4312 wrote: That is bullshit. Where's the extra work at ???? mixing the gas ?? changing the main jets for winter ?? I might catch some hell for this but..... The human race has two distinct personalities types, you either have the "A" type personality, where your a born leader, an alpha male, a take charge... live life to its fullest and love the adrenaline rush, you are the boss and your successful in every little thing you do. A perfectionist, a thinker and an extremist. Ya can't leave problems alone, they must be fixed and fixed better than "good enuf". Most, if not all 2 stroke\Banshee riders have the A-type personality. "B" types are sheep..... they follow the pack and seek out mediocrity, don't rock the boat and don't take any chances. They live far from the edge. They don't want to win and they don't mind coming in second place. If thier Banshee breaks down, they yell the quad is poorly designed, its too much work to keep em running..... but never consider the lack of basic maintence they were too lazy to perform. Blame game is the name of thier game. They're the guys riding 400ex's and other easy to ride 4 strokes. These are the same kids, all dressed exactly alike, all listening to same music, all heading in the same direction because no one wants to stand out, these are the people telling sweetshee that 2 strokes are too much work. Slacker sheep. So you gotta ask yourself. Am I an "A" or a "B" ? Am I a Blue Duece\Banshee370\1000 other "A type" BHQ members or am I a NinjaMaster B ? Are you the alpha male or just one of the Alpha's bitches ?? Its good to see quads like the new YFZ and even the new Honda 4 stroke. Suzuki\kawi is going to have a hi revving modern 4 stroke by the end of the year. These motors will get better and better every year. But they'll never scream like a Banshee. LONG LIVE 2 STROKES AND THE BANSHEE.

89 J-arm Bushings And Ball Joints? Help Plz.
Meat replied to christophernpoo's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
guy on these forums named "Holyman" sells a really nice set of needle bearings for A\J-Arms. Hook up with those babies -
yea but she had the same problem with her dual 34s. Time to troubleshoot. start off with a compression check, maybe you have topend problems. You just had your carbs off, did you check your reeds ?? Did you install the intake gaskets ?? BR8es or B8es spark plugs gapped somewhere between .028 and .031 and buy some new plugs just so we can eliminate them as being your problem. we'll figure it out dont sweat it

Shamokin is the name of the city, zip code is 17872. Look up Treverton too. I dont know treverton's zip. We'll be riding in the abandon coal strip mines behind the two towns. Everyone's invited. Looks like its going to happen sometime in July. MAPQUEST

Nothin beats a MityVac. Hooking up some clear tubing (like the stuff used with aquariums) on your bleeders and manually sucking the fluid down the brake lines also works. Just keep an eye on the clear tubing so your not drinkin' brake fluid. It makes yer lips numb

I checked my compression today its at 149 with 22 domes, so am I safe with pump gas? I can give you my opinion, but you should really be asking this question to the shop\guy that did your "mild trail port". Your 149psi static cylinder compression number is only one indicator when deciding what octane gas to run. When the cylinder ports are left stock, then its relatively safe to say "149psi is safe with 93\94 octane pump gas"..... but once you alter your cylinder ports(mild trail port) the rules for octane requirements change. Determining your "Compression Ratio", not your "Static Cylinder Compression" is the true way to accurately gauge if you need race gas or pump gas. Stock "compression ratio" is 6.5:1, since this compression ratio is always the same on every stock ported Banshee, one could conclude that 150 to 160 psi of "static cylinder compression" is the limit for running 93 octane pump gas. Once you change your cylinder ports(via porting), you also change your "compression ratio". So with a ported engine, you can't say "150-160psi cylinder compression for pump gas" anymore. Your elevation where you ride your Banshee also plays a part in determining octane requirements. Since I don't know your porting specs, compression ratio or your elevation..... I don't feel comfortable giving you a "yes or no" answer on your octane requirements. Sorry. I don't want to tell you that you could run pump gas and have you contact me telling me you experienced detonation and put a nice hole in your piston. I will tell you this, on a stock ported Banshee, 150psi static cylinder compression is right around the limit for pump gas. Anything higher than 150, like 155 or 160psi I would definitely tell you to run race gas, or atleast a mix or pump and race gas. Am I making any sense ?? What should I set my timing at, im a +4 now should I lower it? Well +4 advance is recommended by alot of engine builders for guys running similar setups as yours. The +4 works good for higher revving piped Banshees. There are some downfalls to running +4. The powerband will hit harder and the power will come on more abruptly. While this hard hitting powerband is fun and one hellava kick in the ass to ride, it will make the quad harder to ride. If your trail riding your Banshee, or if you do a lot of sit down cruising in the back yard kinda riding, or even MX racing... the +4 advance might not be ideal for you. Another downfall of +4 advance is added engine heat buildup. Your engine will run hotter. A cooler running engine will produce better HP numbers than one that is running hot all the time. Im running +2 advance on recommendation from my engine builder. The +2 advance was shown to produce lower HP numbers on the dyno compared to +4, but only slightly lower HP numbers. The +2 engine will run cooler and produce a more trail friendly powerband. That's the kind of power Im looking for, something that is trail friendly, doesn't tire me out, powercurve like a MX engine, and still pulls your arms out of your sockets if you give it enuf throttle. There's also that peace of mind, knowing your running a cooler running engine, that is less stressed than a similar motor running +4 advance. Since you have an adjustable timing plate, you should experiment. There's nothing better than learning from first hand experience and here's your chance.

set your timing plate anywhere from +2 to +4 and if you use 22cc domes your almost gaurenteed to be safe. You could prolly run 21cc on pump too, alot of guys will tell you that 20cc is usually the lowest dome for pump. Your elevation plays a big part in determining dome size\cylinder compression. Any porting work will also play a part in choosing the correct dome size for using pumpgas. Go with the 21cc's and be happy that you have the peace of mind that you have a reliable motor that you dont have to worry about exploding on the trails.

A properly installed degree key will not shear off. The keyway only idexes the flywheel to the crankshaft. The only way a key will shear is if the flywheel shears it off..... and the only way the flywheel will shear off a key is because it was not properly installed. The flywheel nut needs to be torqued to 60 ft-lbs. The only other possible way I can think off shearin off a degree key, is if.. the key has a physical defect.

most machine shops will chamfer the ports after they bore. Whenever you have your juggs bored to the next size, ask the machinist to chamfer the ports. You absolutely must have the port edges chamfered, the sharp unchamfered port edges will act like a scraper and will eventually damage the pistons. But the main purpose of chamfering is to prevent the rings from snagging on a port, by easing the ring back into its groove. Chamfer the ports with a VERY SLIGHT BEVEL, tapering in toward the port tunnel. Chamfer the top and bottom of all the ports, starting at the side of the port and progressing towards the center. Keep the bevel uniform. I was taught that the top of the exhaust port should be chamfered so that the sides are chamfered slightly and progressively get higher toward the center of the port. You can use a hand file, but a fine rotary stone does the work faster. Lightly file off the sharpness from the edges of sides of the port window, then work the top and bottom of the ports starting at the side of the port and working towards the center. You don't need a big huge bevel around the ports, just take off the sharp edges and feather it out so it uniform and neat. If your have any doubts about your ability to chamfer your own ports, by all means have your machine shop do it for you after the bore the jugg.

im a kurt cobain\nirvana fan too. That guy could write some really deep shit and had one hellava powerful voice. Nirvana Unplugged was pure genius. Herion is soo damn bad, once you start shootin, your days are numbered Iv heard the high is soooooo damn good on herion. crystal meth is another super hard drug that no one in the right mind should try. Dudes hooked on meth are also doomed. Physical addiction with both drugs is so strong. Im also a big Jerry Garcia fan, mostly cause I play guitar and I love Jerrys riffs. Jerry was another loss to herion Back to the main subject, I like music that features the guitar. Led Zep and Jimmy Page are great. I might get some slack for this one, but I like the Grateful Dead too. Jerry Garcia can play the guitar just like a ringin' a bell. I like the old 80's Ozzy stuff, when Randy Rhodes played for him, and Jake Lee rocked too. Im also into Rage against the Machine, they're another great guitar riff band. Metallica's Kirk Hammet was another influence on me, there's nothing like jammin' out to old skool Metallica power chords like Seek And Destroy or Whiplash. "Kill em All" and "Garage Days" two of my favorite albums. Joe Satriani can play some mean guitar, taught Hammet for awile too. Surfin' with the Alien is prolly his best album. BTW, Satriani's music is all guitar instrumentals. "Always with You, Always with Me" is a great song for guitar players to jam with. I like a band called Phish. Another hippy jam band with goofy lyrics, but thier lead guitar is outstanding. All four band members are masters at thier instruments. They're another great band for guys who play guitar. They'll have 4 minute long guitar solos in every song, and that fucker wont miss a note. Outstanding at times. Best seen live. "run like an antelope" and "inlaw josie whales" are two good guitar songs every guitar player will appreciate. both tunes are instrumentals. I like Pink Floyd, espcially "the wall" album. I can play the entire "wall" album on the guitar. Well atleast I used to be able too ... I forgot alot of it. Back in the late 80's I was big into the thrash bands. Bands like DRI and Nuclear Assult. Suicidal Tendencies and Slayer. Id also listen to MOD and SOD, everyone loves those two oldies, there's nothin like Billy Milano and MOD to get you in a good mood. I could quote 100 great MOD lyrics. Gotta love lines like "please dont feed the fuckin bears" and "thats what you get for swallowing another man's load". I like a few Stevie Ray Vaughn jams. His "rude mood" and "pride and Joy" songs are classics. Guitar players will love his 12 string version of Rude Mood.

You guys are nutz messing with that needle clip. leave it in the stock\middle\3rd notch. Moving that clip one notch represent a huge change in your jetting and it does effect your main jet jetting also. So once you start moving that needle clip, forget about standard recommended main jet numbers, your gonna have everything fucked. Aftermarket needles come with a little washer that you put under or on top of the needle clip so you effectivly double the amount of notches on the needle. This allows you to make needle clip adjustments in half notch increments instead of huge full notch moves. Read this page on jettingMotorcycle Carburetor Theory 101

Iv been using the same set of vitos powerpistons since August 2001. They're still pumpin away and have never let me down. They are finally starting to wear tho and I plan to retire em. They'll get replaced with new Powerpistons. I'll stick with what works, and they work great for me.
-
Make sure you get "big bore" domes. Noss doesnt sell big bore O-rings yet so hook up with a pair of big bore dome O-rings from Vitos' or somewhere like that. Iv been using the smaller standard size dome O-rings on my big bore domes and they worked fine for awhile, but I did blow 2 of em out. You have to really stretch standard O-rings on big bore domes, but they will fit. Bitch to work with tho, so try and hook up with big bore O-rings for your domes. Also Nax, no one gets big bore sleeves installed in thier cylinder without having some porting work done, so find out every little detail about the port job on the 409 juggs. Anything more than a trail port is not ideal for XC racing, you want a motor with a low end style powercurve, porting for low end aint gonna happen. You'll also want a smooth powerband that wont tire you out, anything more than a mild trail port is going to be a handful trying to race for two hours in tight woods and muddy and rutted out trails. Bigger is not always better, espcially when your talking about XC racing. The top guys out there racing xc are using engines sizes around 300cc's. 250r quads with powervalved single cylinders between 265 and as big as 310cc. A 409 ported twin cylinder Banshee would be a handfull in the woods, especially for a 15 year old amature. Just something to think about

I'll look at my engine and get you a definite answer soon, but in the meantime.... I think your fine. But lets think this one out... If you had a longrod crankshaft and your powerpistons were made for a standard rod crank, they pistons would smash into your head. That didnt happen, cause you said you had it running. If you have a standard rod length crankshaft, and Vito's sold you longrod style powerpistons, your piston crowns would be 5mm lower than the top of your cylinder at TDC. Take your head off and verify the pistons come all the way to the top of your cylinders. PowerPistons do have a raised crown so that could throw a curve in the problem , but I doubt the powerpiston crown is raised 5mm. BTW, +5mm is the length of a longrod crankshaft.
