  1. I can't figure out how to send pics.
  2. Sorry about that. It's a 1999. I don't know about compression. I put some new wiseco pistons in it a year ago to freshen it up. Still on the stock bore. Tires a shot, paddles pretty good. Has scratches, but platic is in fair shape. Been taken care and has had good maintenance. I'm sending some pics. I hope they go thru.
  3. I hate to say this, but I have to part with my Banshee after 4 years. I need to get rid of it so I told a guy I'd take $2800 cash as is. It's in good shape with new SST pipes and GBC paddles all the way around. Just curious if I'm giving it away or whether it's about right.
  4. When is it necessasary to pull the clutch basket? So you don't need to do this just to replace the plates/fibers? Sounds like I could handle it if that's all you have to do. What is the correct torque on the springs?
  5. I actually have lots of play in the cable. The clutch pulls in very easily, not like one with stiffer springs. My buddy rode mine and he said my clutch was shot, but I think it's because his pulls so much harder because of the stiffer springs. Is there any way to look at the clutch and tell if it needs to be replaced?
  6. Maybe I shouldn't have used the "bogging" term. It just doesn't pull for crap. It's hard to get it to pull the wheels up even in 2 gear. I guess it could be my jetting as well, but I think it's time for a new clutch anyways. Thanks for the replies.
  7. I went to the dunes this past week and I think my clutch is starting to slip a little bit. I've never replaced it and it's six years old so it's probably time. I tried to adjust it by lining up those two "arrows" above the clutch cover using the adjuster on the perch, but when I lined them up, no go. It wouldn't even go into gear. So I put it back like it was and rode it for the rest of the weekend. It got along allright but just seemed to bog on the low end awful bad. Does this sound like a slipping clutch? Well anyways I think I'll try one of those Tusk kits since their fairly reasonable. I don't abuse mine to bad so I don't think I need to spend the extra on a Dirt Digger. Are clutches hard to install? I've replaced the pistons/rings in mine before with the help of a manual, but when I look at my manual in the clutch section it doesn't seem real clear. Is a clutch puller really needed because I don't have one. If it's needed I think I'll just take it to a friend and have him do it and not the stealership. Just wanted to know some opinions on install and the Tusk clutches.
  8. I've been running Engine Ice, but that stuff is so expensive. I want to change my coolant and I've got some Dex Cool at the house that I run in my pick-up. Is it allright to use this or should I just go get some green antifreeze.
  9. I'm trying to dial in my jetting on my new SST's. I'm at 3100' with stock pilots, 280 mains, no lid, K&N, and clip on the 3rd notch. I think I need to move up a size or two with the mains to like a 290/300, but my question pertains to the pilot jet. Most people say you need to move up to a 27.5 or a 30. Mine will idle fine with the stock pilot, it's just a bitch to get started. I may have to kick like 30 times to get her to fire whereas before it would ususally start in one or two kicks. Should I move up a size with the pilots? Or does this situation not matter. Also, when I was pricking with my needles I happened to drop on on the ground and boogered it up. I just put it back in the way it was. I've ran it with it like that, but I was wondering if this could hurt performance at all. Any info appreciated.
  10. I'd also suggest playing with the idle screws. I had a similar situation happen to me a while back and I adjusted the idle and it fired up on the first kick. I'm sure you've already checked this, but make sure the choke tube isn't missing. If it's off this would definately cause it to start shitty.
  11. Is there a certain size you have to get? I looked on their website and couldn't find where to get the needles.
  12. I recently rejetted my bike set up with FMF SST pipes and when I removed the slide/needle from the right carb it hit the ground and bent the end of the needle. I tried to straighten it out as best I could but it was still jacked up. Since I wanted to ride I just put the shit back together and fired it up. So far it seems to run allright, but I really ought to probably get a new needle. Anyone know where to get some cheap OEM needles? Also, would having a jacked up needle cause the right side pipe to smoke less than the left?
  13. I just recently put on a set of SST's, but I haven't had a chance to really try them out yet. I'm hoping by this weekend I can give them a try. One thing I really do like about the SST is that the pipe and silencer connect close to the front of the airbox, so you don't have a bulky clamp exposed like with alot of the other pipes. Now I don't have to go out and buy the $50 billet clamps for them. I just used the stock clamps. It's kind of a bitch though to get them to connect. Once I take the bike out I'll let you guys know how it performs.
  14. Yeah, that's what I think I'm gonna do. I put the pipes on with 280 jets and left the pilots stock about two turns out. I kicked it twice and it fired up and idled allright. Now I need to run it wide open and do a plug check with and without the lid to see whether or not it's too lean/rich. Thanks alot for the info. The pipes sound 100 times better than stock, and look 1000 times better too.
