Boonman !! are you comin to coalfest ?? we're only 20 miles from Bloomsburg.
-
vito's told me 24cc big bore domes for 94 octane, anything smaller and its racegas time. With as much compression your running, you better feed it racegas right now. Can someone explain to me how someone cuts 18cc domes for 94 octane pump gas ??
-
how da hell can you forget about yellow !!? I voted "other" cause I like yeller
-
I didnt vote, cause I can go anytime. But...... If someone held a gun to my head and demanded me to choose a month, Id say late June, or sometime in July after the 4th. But it really doesnt matter to me. Keep votin'.
-
Anyone interested in going to CoalFest please help us pick a month. Month that gets the most votes wins, then we'll have to figure out which weekend is best for everyone. Remember..... springtime months will prolly be wet, muddy and cold nights for camping. No swimming or cleaning up at one of the lakes, water is too damn cold. The wet springtime months will keep the dust down. 20-30 degree nights in March and April. 50-60 degree nights in May and June. Summer months equal nice sunny days, less chance of rain but more dust. Last summer it rained so much that dust was not a problem all year long. Summer months we can jump in one of the lakes to cool off and clean up. Warm nights for camping. 70-80 degree nights in July and August. Fall months, bring nice sunny days but colder nights. The leaves are turning colors and they cover all the trails. The crisp autumn air really wakes up a 2 stroke motor. Dust is still an issue, but its prolly not as bad as the summer months. 40-50-60 degree nights in September and October. Love to hear any comments or suggestions.

I think "dirt, woods, trails and grass/fields" all should fall under the XC catagory.

plugs will work in sidewalls..... when you only need one or maybe two plugs. You said you put in 5 plugs... thats too big of a gash. Ask some of your freinds "who vulcanizes tires". Find a garage that can vulcanize it and your set. Its getting harder and harder to find places that vulcanize tires anymore, cause its illegel to vulcanize car tires now. I have a nice Turf Tamer with a gash in the sidewall that took 7 plugs to fill up. Na... it didnt work. It was worth a shot tho.

does anyone know why bike motorcrossers use foam filters exclusivly ? Ya'd think if K&N offers a performance gain over foam, 100% of the pro mx racers would be using K&N, but they dont. Ya'd think maybe 50% of the pro's would use K&N, but they dont. 25%, nope, 5 % maybe... nope. Its more like 0%. Why is that ??? Now ATV MX guys use K&N filters, but they dont have the professional mechanics that the bike guys have, ATV MX pro's usually have a freind or relative as thier head mechanic.... I just wanna know why the bike guys dont use K&N, there has to be a very good reason. They use FMF pipes.... and V-Force reeds.... and all kinda aftermarket parts, but Iv never even seen a K&N made for a modern MX bike, and Iv never seen a K&N sponsor sticker on any dirtbikes either. Everyone usually runs a UNI or a Twin-Air.

I bought a Pivot Works bushing kit for my rear shock. It replaces the upper and lower bushings in the shock...... where the shock mounts to the linkage and the frame. The kit comes with new upper and lower bearings, seals and spacers. Im having a problem removing the stock bushings from the shock. They are held in place with retaining rings, similar to piston pin clips. Bitch is, I can't get those retaining rings out of thier grooves. I tried awls, small screwdrivers, snap ring pliers dont work either. These bastards do not want come out of thier grooves. I was just wondering if anyone has removed these clips and how the hell did you get em out. Any suggestions\ideas ??? I'll post a picture later... thanks...

03 ORANGE SHEE, could you please edit your pictures so they're not so big. On my 17 inch monitor I have to side scroll the page to read the replies. If you go to the Banshee Zone, and go to the Coal Hill section, I have all the pictures you sent me. But I edited them up so they are internet freindly. Find your Coal Hill pictures on the Banshee Zone, then post the smaller\edited versions so we dont have to side scroll anymore. Thanks, just holler if you need help finding your pictures on the Banshee Zone, they are all found at the "The Strippins\Coal Hill" section of the banshee zone. Here's another really nice picture taken from Chencer.com, showing Coal Hill. Try to picture the size of an ATV sitting at the base of the hill....

my 12 year old son will be there all weekend with us, he rides a Blaster. Here's the website for Knoebles. http://www.knoebels.com Knoebles is a free admission park, you pay only when you want to go on a ride. So you can walk around the park all day long, eat the good foods, enjoy the park and dont have to pay to get in the park. Ride ticket stands all over the park if you want to ride something. Its a really really good amusument park. Gaurenteed you'll love it. Twister http://www.knoebels.com/camp.htm Campsites cost $30 bucks a night at Knoebles.... Knoebels Campground: 570-672-9555

Me a few freinds are going to pick out a nice safe place to put up camp. Camp will be somewhere in "the strippins", so we can ride back to camp at the end of the day, and if anyone wants to go for a night ride... there's 20 square miles to get lost in. Me and my buddies plan to go for a ride as soon as the snow melts, we have a few ideas for campsite locations. I'll post some pictures of potential campsite locations and you guys can help pick out the camp. BYOTP(bring your own toilet paper) I'll be taking my tent, sleeps 6 or so, and its all booked up. Bring yer own tents, chairs, food and drinks etc etc etc... I'll bring some beers if you guys wanna slam a few back around the campfire. A freind of mine cant ride anymore because of back injury, so he told me that he would come to coalfest for the whole weekend and just stay at the camp, guard it. So you could park your vehicles and trailers and whatnot, and he'll be there all day watchin' our camp for looters. He'll want to be intoxicated, so bring the camp gaurd a beer or something. If your not thrilled about camping out in the middle of nowhere, you could always camp at Knoebles amusement park, about 15 miles down the road. Knoebles is a great park, I'll gaurentee you'll love Knoebles. HOME OF "THE PHOENIX" WOODEN ROLLERCOASTER. Knoebles has a nice campground ajacent to the park. Full hookups for water and terlit. I'll try to find Knoebles website and post it. There's a few hotels around, nothing fancy. I have no idea what they charge for a room either. If anyone is interested in a hotel room, let me know and i'll hook you up with some phone numbers. Tell your uncle..... I should add... that iv never camped in the strippins with 20 other people. I plan on having the campsite deep enough in the strippins so the cops wont bother driving back, but also have the camp accessible by vehicle.... so you guys can park there. Chencer, Italian Musky and HTPRufton... please help me find this ideal campsite. If, god forbid, the staties show up and drive through the trails and mud and rocks to get to our campsite... and everyone gets busted for trespassing....... dont say I didnt warn yas. In my opinion, the cops are pretty cool about riding there, just as long as we're not raising hell. The strippins is mainly behind the small town of Treverton, treverton does not have a police force. The only police presence is the occasional Statie that drives through. We will be close to treverton, but far enough out of town that we wont see any streetlights or anything like that. We'll be far from civilazation. You can see Treverton in this picture... If you own a GPS, please bring it. I will post GPS numbers for every major landmark, from Coal Hill, to the town of Treverton, to the campsite location. Walkie talkies, bring em. We dont want anyone getting lost. Like mentioned before, there's lots of intersecting trails, miles and miles of trails, its a 10x2 mile tract of barren land.... we dont want anyone getting lost.

Memorial day, 4th of July and Labor Day, the strippins get packed with offroaders..... and yes the staties usually make an appearance during the holiday weekends. The staties wont drive deep into the strippins tho, but they'll be at Coal Hill for sure. From what I hear, and seen... the staties are acutally pretty cool about the riding situation. As long as your not shooting guns, riding on the roads, being obnoxius etc etc, they're pretty cool about it. For example, last summer we were riding through the center of the strippins when we came upon 200+ people, riding ATV's, dirtbikes, trucks and buggies. They were all in a big group and the group was stopped at a water hole and were taking a break. Well I pulled up to the crowd of people and asked what was going on. The guy I was talking to told me it was a benifit ride for a cancer fund. $10 per person to ride, food and beer included and the money's went to a local kid with cancer. I thought that was great. So I proceed to tell this guy, that the state cops were out at Coal Hill last weekend and to watch out for em. He tells me... they've allready talked to the Staties and they were cool about it. He then tells me there's a few cops riding right now in thier group ride. Its all pretty cool with the cops, as long as your not a jackass. I WANT TO MAKE THIS PERFECTLY CLEAR. THIS LAND IS OWNED BY A LARGE COAL COMPANY AND THEY HAVE THE LAND POSTED. YOU WILL BE TRESPASSING. Now with that said, iv never had a single problem riding here, 20 years and counting. No run-ins with the staties and no problems with the coal company. The coal company that owns the land is based 60 miles out of town. They dont mine the land anymore, they havent mined the land in 75 years. The land is scarred and the only thing its good for is offroading. I think the coal companies know this, and they dont bother us.... if we dont bother them. I agree 100%. Lets pick a nice sunny warm late spring\early summer day with warm nights if anyone wants to camp for the night. The dust does get bad, but last spring\summer\fall it rained so much that dust was never a problem. Warmer days will bring more riders to the area, and thats a good thing. Plus... swimmin in one of the lakes on a hot day equals fun and it cleans all the black dirt off ya. If there's the slightest bit of dust...... everyone's face will be coal black by noon. Bring goggles.
-
Agreed. And I also agree with Boonman's post, well said booney you took the words right outta my mouth. Here's an idea vmaxup..... next time post your problems\temper tantrum in the correct forum and more people will read it. How is your question a "question for Banshee performance shops" ? I never post in this section cause..... I don't own a "banshee performance shop", and I honestly dont know why some of you guys reply to questions posted here in this section of the forum, if you dont own a shop. So... in summary.... try posting in the correct forum next time and showing a little respect and gratitude to the forum members. IMO.... you spent 1000 dollars trying to fix a problem caused by a $20 dollar coil. Call NASA cause your the winner. Vmaxup.... id change your user name if you ever need BHQ help in the future.

There's wasnt a last time. I like to ride at a brisk pace, but im usually riding by myself. If coalfest goes down, we'll be takin the trails slow. Just cruizin' speeds. I'll take yas on a tour of the place, its about 10 miles from end to end. There's a few popular riding areas amungst the 10 mile tract, so we'll just take our time when we're ride from spot to spot. I dont think it would be a good idea to go flyin' around the trails with a pile of guys who never rode here b4 and besides everyone has a different skill level. If you guys wanna rip through the woods, up a mountain side, I can do that. I have a 3 mile loop that I ride. It starts on a pole line 1\4 way up the mountain side, we'd hop off the pole line and up a nice wide trail that has four or five 50 yard uphills. You hold it WOT and fly up the hills, and your in the dark woods the whole time. This trail takes you right to the very top of the mountain, which we can ride the top for a good 2 miles till we meet up with the trail that takes you back down. You can ride this whole loop WOT as fast as you can, its a nice trail and the rocks arent' too bad. About 3\4 way up to the top of the mountain, the trail splits and you can take the easy way to the top or the hard way. The hard way is a gas line trail cutout through the woods, it goes straight to the top, 50 yards long and nothing but rocks all the way up. Its a challenge. In this pic you can see the badass 50 yard rocky uphill near the top of the mountain. AND HERE'S LOOKING DOWN THE OTHER SIDE.........

I have the toomey 2.1 and I like it. But its coming off and the airbox is going back on. I plan on running some XC races with my quad and I need the airbox in those muddy wet races. My banshee still boggs really bad if I hit a puddle too fast. It boggs and bitches and moans for 50 yards, then clears it throat and takes off again. Iv allready hit a big puddle, got a wet and got the bog. Hopped off the quad, took off the seat and seen water all over the Outerwear. The filter foam was wet. So im taking my Toomey setup off and the airbox with a billet flange is going in its place. If it still boggs.... BTW I have a Toomey 2.1 for sale. Its got a K&N filter instead of a UNI foam. Trades ? Its worth about 30 bucks. Im keepin my UNI filtered Toomey.
