  1. I'll give you a $900 bucks for your POS banshee
  2. Was Dan on a white KTM 2 stroke ? he's always out riding.... dan's a good guy, stop and talk to him if you ever see him again. The guys loves his bikes and can ride pretty good, he's worth talkin' too sometime. Ask him about the cbr600 hillclimber he built or his old 500 quadzilla. I have some video of Dan climbin' the steep sides of coal hill on his KTM.
  3. Id sell ya one, but I want $100 for it. $100 shipped as long as your located in the states. Im hooked up with paypal too. lemme know, i can ship it out in tomorrow.
  4. K$N sells a cleaning kit for thier filters, you'll need to spray on the cleaner, rinse it off and then oil it with the K$N filter oil. Its all included in thier cleaning kit. Some guys use Simple Green to clean thier K$N. Guess you'd still have to buy K$Ns' oil tho. Alot of guys think K$N makes the best filters because they cost the most. IMO, gimme a UNI foam filter to protect my engine instead of an overpriced gauze K$N. Do the research before you buy. Theres lots of opinions on "best filters".
  5. you could always just upgrade to a "degree key" that advances your timing. They cost a little more tho, around $25 bucks.
  6. a teeny tiny dab of sillycone will hold that key in place
  7. I just did my rear shock mounting bushings and they were held in place with circlips. Do you see any circlips ???

  10. Just wait to you see the big coal bank in Shamokin. Its supposedly the largest coal bank deposit in the world, and i dont doubt it. Its triple, maybe quadruple the hieght and diameter of Trevertons "coal hill". The big coal bank in Shamokin was formed from the Glenn Burn colliery 75 years ago. The hill has trails on it, but there's no way in hell you can climb up the side of it. There's a local guy who rides those hillclimb events, he rides a modded KX500 with a one of those super long swingarms and a big paddle tire, he's been trying to climb the Glenn Burn hill for the past 2 summers, he hasnt made it to the top yet. He's really the only guy crazy enough to attempt it. His name is Dan, and I hope to get him to check out CoalFest. Dan also has a crazy ass KTM 550 2stoke hillclimb bike. That bike is insane, but his KX is even crazier !! Here's a partial shot of the Glenn Burn mountain.... it only shows about 1\4 of the moutain, but you can get an idea how tall it is...
  11. 421stroker, a few thoughts about your idea. I'll have work monday through Thursday that week and I work second shift, 12 noon till 10pm, so I wont be able to hang out with you guys.... but... we're planning on building a nice campsite in a good safe location that you are welcome to use for the whole week. I'll post GPS coordinates for the campsite and all the major landmarks. Id also recommend going to Knoebles amusement park for a day. Its 15-20 miles down the road. I'd like to think the campsite would be safe from theives but you would be taking a chance by leaving supplies at the camp unattended. Lock everything up in your trucks and a car alarm would be great. During the weekdays, there's hardly anyone riding so the risk factor goes down, but theft is still possible. The whole surrounding area is very rural, we dont have any large cities around for 60 miles, but no matter where you live in this world there will always be people who will take your stuff if they can. frocash, soupies will be on hand. I got some hot ones, some garlic ones, some pepperoni ones, some black pepper ones, some red pepper ones, some deer ones, some hot-deer ones...... we'll try em all. BYOB !! and i think the 17\18th weekend would be good. Im pretty booked up for the 4th of the july weekend, and it would be nice to have a "normal" weekend(10th\11th) the following weekend after the holiday to get ready for coalfest. Guys, bring your kids, wives and girlfreinds. Iv got a few PM's askin about bringin' kids or bringin' some 4-stroke freinds..... I say everyones invited, the more the merrier.
  12. 4 years of 50:1 in mine and the top end looks brand new. I have the head off right now and took some pictures a few days ago. The pistons look like I installed em yesterday and the cylinder walls show some very slight wear marks, the marks in the cylinder walls are so slight you can barely feel the worse wear mark... this is after 4 years of 50:1, and there's 20 other guys here running high mix ratio's with quality premix that have similar results and the proof to back it up. I'll post my pictures asap. BTW when I built my engine and got it broke in, the compression was 140, 4 years later.... its at 135 in both juggs. Kinda pissed me off cause I was hoping to rebuild the engine just to freshen it up and have peice of mind that the topend was fresh for this year, when I did my comp test and seen im at 135..... iv decided to keep running it for a little while longer. Im plannin on rebulding right before CoalFest in July.... just for the sake of retireing the topend and having a fresh one for CoalFest. BTW im using Amsoil premix
  13. Sweetshee, when I was 14 I got my first quad, an old Suzuki 230 Quadsport. When I was 15 I had that Quadsport modded with everything you could buy for it. At age 15 I tore the engine down, shipped the cylinder to LASleeve and had a 260 big bore kit put in. I installed my first Wiseco piston, threw in a Web cam, assembled the whole thing and it fired right up. I did all my work, adjusting valves, timing chain, bulletproofing the chain\sprocket\swingarm so the chain wouldn't pop like the Quadsports were known to do. I made my own custom shift lever to rid the stupid stock linkage type shifter. My Quadsport was bulletproof and I did it all myself when I was your age, 15... and without the benifits of the internet. Why am I telling you this ?? I hope to motivate you.... to get you off your ass.... and learn about your machine, work on your machine... bulletproof it. You need to look at one particular problem at a time, don't have any of your friends around while your working, you need to concentrate on what your doing. Find your problem, study the whole design and learn how everything works concerning the problem area. Now use your common sense, a good set of tools and fix your problem. Once you figured out how to fix the problem, setup the quad so the problem doesn't happen again. Its called "doing it right the first time". If your going to fix something, don't fix it "half assed", do it right the first time. Tackle one problem at a time and fix it correctly, don't fix it so you can go riding, fix so it wont break ever again. Keep a clear mind, set aside a whole day to fix up your quad and don't get distracted by having your dad or your buddies around. The Banshee and most older designed 2 stroke quads are the easiest ATV's to work on, there' really not much to em. You got a brake system, a drive train system, a suspension system and the engine. You cant just give up cause your frustrated. You need to develop that "A type" personality...... you see a problem, you don't bitch and moan, you fix it and you fix it right. Take off your dress and get your hands dirty. Learn about maintence, you need to take care of the quad. Ever hear of grease ? Chain lube ? Quality oils ?? Instead of playing your ps2 and starin' at online porn, start visiting this forum everyday and read every post and learn everyone's name here..... if you'd take my advice, a year from now you'll have a bulletproof Banshee, you'll have the skills to maintain your quad, your ego will rise and you'll blow your friends mind when you tell em you just rebuilt your topend. And one more thing, the other guys who replied are right on........ if you buy a Raptor.... and don't wrench on it..... you'll have just as many problems as your having now. You cant whine about your problems, you need to figure out what needs to be done and do it. And there will be plenty of times when your Banshee will have a problem that you cant quite figure out or you cant get it fixed, that is where the BansheeHQ forums enter the picture. We're here to help when you have questions. I was going to write something in your other post where you were whining about your Banshee... but I held off. Iv been reading alot of thread lately where guys are bitchin about their quad and "they suck at life". Life is what you make it, its in your hands. One more thing SweeShee, I like you, please don't think im being an asshole towards you. I know your from pa and I want you to know that you can bring your Banshee down to Shamokin and we'll go over your whole quad. I don't wanna see you riding a Raptor at CoalFest
  14. $140 shipped to your door.
  15. head south on 81 and look for the Mt Carmel exit, head for Shamokin. You'll wanna be on Rt61 when your headin' for Mt Carmel\Shamokin. Once you find Shamokin, keep going west to the small town of Treverton. The road from Shamokin to Treverton is Rt225, locals call it the "treverton road". So get to Shamokin and ask someone where\how to get to the "treverton road\rt225. Treverton is about 8 miles west of shamokin, you'll stay on Rt225 and go right down the center of Treverton. Dont blink or you'll miss T-town. anyways.... drive through treverton and keep an eye on the skyline for a big black coal hill. You can't miss it, it dominates the area. At the end of Treverton, look for the baseball fields, the baseball feilds will on your right, Coal Hill on your left, look for the large wide smooth dirt road on the left hand side of rt225, take that dirt road, it will take you right past an old coal mining building, there might be some guys working there, dont mind em. Just keep following the dirt road, the dirt road circles Coal Hill, so you'll know if your on the right road or not. There's only one dirt road and its used alot so its in good condition. Just stay on the dirt road till it takes you around the back side of the big hill, you'll see guys riding. Find a spot to park and rip it up. Lock your doors. Once you get tired of Coal Hill, start taking trails, the trails go for miles and miles, try to ride east, heading back towards Shamokin. Remember, Coal Hill is at the very west end of the Strippins, and you can ride the whole valley 8-10 miles all the way back to Shamokin. Id recommend using Mapquest.com and searching for Shamokin 17872 and Treverton.
  16. Got it on my watchlist. I remember following all your posts about it when you were building it, its a shame to see it go.
  17. yea i like it too. looks good.
  18. so was it the TORS causin' the trouble all along ?? Im confused
  19. I just got home. holler back if you have any more troubles.
  20. Have fun guys, wish I was going. Take lots of digi pictures, I finally got a DSL connection, so I wanna see a ton of Roostfest pictures and video!!
  21. the new raptor\warrior 350 is 30 pounds lighter than the ol' Warriors, it has a new Raptor style BSR 34mm carb, its a constant velocity carb. Alot better than the warriors old circa 1970's plain jane Minuki carb. The exhaust is reworked too, updated to a more modern design and yamaha says it "produces more HP and run quieter" than the old warriors exhaust system. All 3 shocks on the new 350 are updated units and they're not using the Warriors frame. So it should kill the Warrior in the handling dept. Electric start, handlebar mounted choke and reverse. Should make a great beginner's quad and should give the 300ex a run for its money. Id think the 400ex could prolly kick its ass in every catagory, but thats just a guess.
  22. Ok, lets do this in July. The 4th of July weekend is crazy around here. There's tons of people riding that weekend and there's campsites everywhere. Coal Hill should be packed that weekend. Shamokin puts on a very big fireworks display that can be seen from the strippins. Everyone whos riding that night, rides to Shamokin to see the firework display. Drunks and assholes everywhere. Cops too. I wouldnt recommend the holiday weekend.... but thats up to you guys. Next weekend is the 10th and 11th. Then we have the 17th and 18th. Then 24th and 25th. Thoughts ??? Comments ??? Preferences ??? Date doesnt matter to me, I just wanna get a date that is best for the majority of people. If it comes down to it, I'll make the decision. If anyone wants to come down on the Friday before the weekend, thats cool with me, i'll be taking a day off from work on that Friday. Also post if you plan on spending the night at a hotel, camping in the strippins, camping at Knoebles or whatever. BYOB and food. I'll have atleast 2 cases of Yuenglin Lager beer at camp and a big mound of soupie. Bring your GPS or atleast a compass. The area is vast and you could get lost if you venture out by yourself. There's plenty of intersecting trails that can get you mixed up. we'll be hunting for a suitable campsite very soon. We need to find a camp that we can get atv trailers too. I will take some pictures for ya when we go campsite hunting.
  23. got yor pm very late last night, glad you figured it out. I just wanna add that when you guys are WOT for a good period of time, or drag racing run after run. You should never go from WOT to a completly closed throttle. You need to keep a supply of cool gas\oil into your hot cylinders. When your riding wide open throttle you build alot of heat, the gas\oil mix is the only thing cooling down and lubricating your top end. You need to keep that fuel coming into the topend to help her cool down. Never make 10 drag passes and come to a complete stop\shut down the engine. You should ride it around 1\2 throttle to keep that cool fuel flowin' and of course the airflow benifits on the radiator.

They are tied for the overall with 39 points apiece. Mike Penland took 2nd place and he is leading the Utility Stock class overall. Big Mike is a 10 time GNCC Utility champ. Next race is Mar 6 & 7 at "The General" in Washington GA
