  1. iv heard its more like 1.7 quarts... but iv always put in 2 full quarts. Someone once said that 2 quarts will help lube up that clutch pushrod\ball assembly. Iv been puttin in 2 quarts forever now and no ill effects. BTW, the proper way to read the dipstick is..... unscrew the bastard all the way out and then rest it back in the hole, dont thread it in, just rest it on the side case. Take your reading this way, with it sitting in the hole, but not threaded in. That info is straight from the Yamaha service manual.
  2. I put a big ass gash in one of my turf tamer tires. its un-fixable..... FUBAR. I need one used rear 20 inch Turf Tamer for an 8 inch rim. My tires have about half tread on em, so keep that in mind. Someone hook me up... I got PayPal and im ready to buy.
  3. buy it abyss, then bring your "alien" buddy and pick me up on your way west. Kansas road trip !
  4. does hurricane hills have a website ?
  5. check your pickup coil gap. I ferget what it should be. someone post it please.
  6. Few thoughts... You could monitor your cylinder compression. Say you got 130 psi in each cylinder, you could re-ring when the comp drops too..... 115-120. You could also change rings on an hourly basis. IE.... Change rings every 60 hours.
  7. lots of posts since iv been gone. where to start..... Thor7000, I think H300F's reply was pretty accurate. Be forwarned, this is private property and there is a chance of getting a tresspassing fine. Altho crackdowns and fines are rare, they do happen, everyone coming needs to understand this. FroCash was wondering how many people are going to be there, and thats a good question...... I tried getting a head count but the numbers are hazy. Im guestamating about 25 to 30, my one buddy is thinkin' more like 50+. A large group of riders using the same camp might draw unwanted attention. A state police car can make it back to where we're setting up camp, but he'd have to drive 1\2 mile on a old twisty dirt road, though puddles and around some rocks.. and he also would have to know where he's going. You cannot see our camp from the highway, and im 95% sure you wont be able to see any campfires from the highway either. Now say a statie or two does drive back to check out our camp, I think as long as we're all behaving and polite, they would leave us be. Im sure they dont want to write out 50 tickets either or all the paperwork that would go with it. We're also going to have GPS numbers and directions for finding camp, I'll give these numbers\direction out to you guys closer to June and wont make the directions public, you'll have to PM me for the info. Motul, thats fucking awsome that youre familar with Shamokin. Where exactly are you from ?? Yes, the Glenn Burn culm bank is on fire, but its not too bad. The Glenn Burn is a old coal mine thats based in Shamokin. The mine piled up useless coal called culm, they piled it up and piled it up and piled it up, for like 50 years. They made the "worlds largest man made mountain", the Glenn Burn culm bank. I really dont know if its the worlds largest, but it sounds good. Anyway, this fuckin' culm bank is on fire. When ever it rains, the mountain steams. Steams sulfer. Great huh. The bank towers over Shamokin, every 4th of July the city blasts off some fireworks from atop the culm bank. They actually put on one hellava fireworks display. Thats where this quote comes in...... Yep, every "4th" shamokin' put on thier fireworks display, they shoot em off from on top of the culm bank and they explode directly above the town, the fireworks are directly above you and all around you. Its a good display, they spend somthing like 50 grand on it every year. The strippins gets packed with offroaders that holiday, everyone heads out to Shamokin on thier quads, bikes, trucks, buggies and watches the fireworks display. Ever hear of the the town Centralia ? Big mine fire there. Its a ghost town now. Centralia is 15 miles out of Shamokin, and you can see the fire through cracks in the earth. Yea its dangerous up there, there's nothing like the smell of sulfer in the morning. Yea dude thats so funny..... we actually did have a "wild dog" problem a few years ago. Those fuckin' dogs were livin' in the strippins like goddamn dingos. Its craaaazy. Its pretty bad when your hometown has a mine fire and "wild dog" problems I won't even tell yas about the "shit crick". When we're at camp coalfest, we'll all have to keep gaurd for wild dogs. Yea the Phoenix is still there. Its a bigass wooden roller coaster and its a great ride. They have a new coaster called the Twister, its a wooden coaster also. Its a another great ride and a must ride ride. The phoenix is better than the Twister IMO. Knoebles has great bumper cars too, you gotta ride the bumper cars at Knoebles. The haunted house is another must see. ahh good times.... 4\20

  14. you dont have to install the idle screws. you prolly wont get it to idle, so it will be like you said.......... . I JUST bought a idle screw kit on ebay for 14 bucks, brand new in the package They sell em at the local bike shop for 27 bucks. We're putting a twist throttle on my kids blaster this weekend, so I needed an idle screw. My 12 year old boy rides my Banshee, the first quad he ever rode by him self was one of my banshees. He rode a kx60 for 2 summers and now he wants a twist throttle on his Blaster. My kids crazy, he was jumpin' his stock shocked Blaster last weekend, his farthest jump measured 38 feet. His blaster rips
  15. hey get ahold of Cotton eye joe, he makes\sells a nice little steering stem bearing remover tool doohicky. Its like a big ass nut, with a square cut in the center for a 3\8 ths ratchet to turn it.
  16. Thats normal, thats the stock factory "overflow sytem". The overflow bottle is mounted to the back of the airbox. Yep i did the same thing with mine, removed the bottle completly and just ran the overflow tube along the frame rails, held on with zip ties. I ran that setup all spring\summer\fall last year and iv come to the conclusion that keeping the overflow bottle on is the better setup. My coolant level always seemed to be low, I am running big bore sleeves with a stock radiator, its bound to get a little hot. It got to be a pain in the ass removing that radiator cover and checking/adding the coolant everytime I went for a ride. The weight of the coolant bottle is minimal, you can mount it up in the nose of the frame, between the upper A-arms and it works just as good as when it was mounted behind the airbox. When the engine gets hot and spits out some coolant, the bottle catches it, holds it and then returns it back to the radiator when things cool down PLUS.... you dont have to be paranoid about your coolant level and going through the coolant check ritual. This past winter, I re-mounted my coolant bottle, its mounted up front.
  17. bradrs welcome to the forum, that was a great reply you gave. THeres' a pile of guys here running dyna cdi boxes. agreed.

  24. The C12 stuff ?? And RR04 said the VP is sold in 54 gallons, not 55. Also said 30 gallon cans were available. What about a pump, I might be able to borrow a 55 gallon drum pump from my job, but if you got yer own pump, bring it. Also.... does anyone else have any good idea's like Abyss\. wrote about trail markings.
  25. im mixin' Amsoil Series 2000 at 50:1, and the Amsoil injector oil in my RZ. Last summer I ran out of series 2000 oil so I just used the Amsoil injector oil for atleast 20 gallons of gas...... didnt have a single problem with the injector oil. Im back to using the Series 2000 stuff now but in a bind, the injector oil will work for ya. Holyman is an Amsoil dealer, if anyone wants to try Amsoil just drop Holyman a PM. After nearly 4 years of 50:1 Amsoil use, my top end is still together and in one piece, altho I am due for a rebuild soon.
