  1. Yes and no. They both advance your ignition timing. The difference between em is a "degree key" can only adjust the timing to a set number IE +4 advance or +7 adv. On the other hand, the "timing plate" is fully adjustable, meaning you can set your timing anywhere from -10(retard ) to +10(advance). Yep. Leave the stock keyway in. You could use a "degree key" with a timing plate, but its not recommened. If you use a +4 degree key, and then set your "adjustable timing plate" to +6..... your timing would be advanced 10 degrees(+10). That I dont know the answer to
  2. BIRDMAN 1, tell me more about your "strippins" riding days. Coal Hill got mentioned in the April edition of DirtWheels. It was in the "letters" section. HOPEFULL BANSHEE GIRL Dear DirtWheels, I'm a 15 year old girl and love to ride with my two uncles up at Coal Hill. Chuck and Jake both ride 500s. I hope to get a Banshee soon. Love your mag. Sasha Reigle Kulpmont , PA
  3. You can still race modded 250r's in the GNCC, you just cant race em in the Pro class anymore. They moved to production based quads only, cause they are trying to get factory(yamaha\honda\suzuki\etc) support the sport, like how the bike guys have it. It worked cause Yokley got a Suzuki sponsorship this year. Kawasaki brings a support rig and offers pit help to anyone racing a V-Force, Honda and Yamaha are now offering contingencies for gncc racers on thier quads. Bill Ballance and Chad DuVall nabbed factory Yamaha rides this year. Yamaha supplied YFZs to Borich this year to, but he's not considered a "factory rider"... yet. reas, we went to the Rausch Creek GNCC last year. We walked the whole course during the races, there's a morning race where the amatuers\4x4's\women classes race, and then the pros\pro-production and "A" classes raced the afternoon race. Your so damn close to the action, you can get hit by a racer if your not careful. Me and three of my buddies are definitly going to Rausch Creeks race this season. Ballance's win streak is over this year...... Borich is gonna take it. Next weekend is the second round in Florida, i'll post the results ASAP
  4. OOOOooo I could really stir things up on this topic. Oh boy could I . I am sooooooo damn tempted to post something, someone very important at BT wrote to me about the "decline of BHQ" when Evil had his BT problems a lil while ago. I'll keep my mouth shut.
  5. Yep, I agree with Fro. Its twist throttle time if your going to do some more desert racing.
  6. Ballance is on the YFZ450 this year. So is Smiley, Borich and Duvall. Yokley is on a suzuki Z400. Id estimate 90% of the Pro's will be racing the Yamaha 450. I think since the Honda 450 got hammered in the magazine shootouts, you wont see many Hondas racing in the Pro class. Did ya's know..... no more 250r allowed in the Pro class anymore. I just got my '04 AMA card. $39 bucks a year. BALLANCE ON HIS YFZ IN TEXAS..... BORICH ON HIS YFZ IN TEXAS.... WOMEN'S CHAMP TRACI CECCO ON HER YFZ IN TEXAS....... DuVALL ON HIS YFZ IN TEXAS....... SMILEY ON HIS YFZ IN TEXAS..... TREW ON HIS YFZ IN TEXAS....
  7. IMO, they're the best reed cages you can buy. Iv had em in my engine for the past 3 years, I just tore my top end down and found my V-force reeds in perfect shape. Not a single chip, no tattered edges, PERFECT SHAPE with 3 years of abuse. Here's some pics I took... We're all entitled to our opinions but..... there's no way that set of reeds, was the complete and total cause for your engine damage. Im sure there's more to your story.
  8. I seen the fronts selling for $175 apeice, brand new. They are great rims, I know a Pro racer who swears by em, raced em hard for 2 full GNCC seasons racing on the rocks and ruts of a XC course. Never had a single problem with his, no DNF's cause from the HiPers.
  9. Tryin to pick a month thats best for most people, so if you havent voted IN THIS THREAD you should. Right now it looks like CoalFest in July.
  10. The Florida GNCC is in Palatka, FL and the date is Feb 29th. Bikes race March 1st. No I wont be going to the Florida GNCC, but i'll be at a few of the closer GNCC's around Pennsylvania.
  11. Northumberland county, Shamokin, Treverton, Mt Carmel area
  12. hey NAXbansheeman11, the Florida GNCC is next weekend. You aughta go check it out.
  13. Awww your killin' me Led. If Im racing the Grandpa class that means you'll be racing the punk ass bitch class yea I hear ya tho, I was kinda depressed when I read the GNCC rules, they say to race to race in the Vet class you have to be 30+ years old. I qualify for the Vet class 31, 32 in August. I'll be the first to admit Im starting to slow down. You young guys better realize the oportunity's you have at your young age. Chris Borich is only 20 yr old, finished 2nd overall in the GNCC series last year. On the other hand..... Doug Gust is older than me and he won the GNC Pro-Prodution class last year, and Im pretty sure Tim Farr is in his 30's too. Well I gotta go change my depends undergarmet and put my HoverRound scooter on the charger, I'll TTYL
  14. Hey speakin' of pictures of the Dumont Roostfest. If you guys wanna take some pictures during the trip and if you can email them to me somehow, i'd be happy to host and post em on BHQ for everyone to see. Once the "fest" is over and everyone is back home, then ya's can get your own damn host, but seriously tho, if ya's want me to host\post up some pictures on the forum while RoostFest is happening, just holler.
  15. Well I know this is an old topic, but its the first time Iv read it. I found this thread cause it was posted\linked in the "People On The Bashee Hq" thread found in the Roostin' Room. Got1Banshee has come around, thats for sure. Seems like a good guy and now an assest to the BansheeHQ crew. I just wanted to address this quote from Got1..... The email address that I have posted in a few places on the banshee zone does not work anymore. I always answer all my Banshee related emails and PM's, but the sheer amount of email I was receiving was too much. I would spend 3-4 hours everynight after my job, replying to emails. The email address on The Banshee Zone is no longer working, so I dont even get emails from the banshee zone anymore. Im always willing to help out, if ya's ever want my opinion or help on ANYTHING, just use the PM feature here on this forum. I have 3 or 4 PM's right now that I have to reply too now and its allready 3 in the morning So I just wanted ya to know, I wasnt ignoring you or had any grudges or anything like that. PM'ing is the way to go.
  16. yea the picture\scenery was so nice, with the big blue sky and the desert terrain, those bright orange cones were botherin' me..... so I had to get rid of em. Thats a real good picture tho. We all need to get some action photos posted
  17. Agreed, best for MX and hardpacked ground. They are really light weight too, thats cause they're only 2ply and like Led said.... they're not the ideal woods tire. Iv went through a few sets of Turf Tamers and they're one of my favorite tires, they slide really good, they're not rounded\ballon type of a tire. You can actually feel the lighter wieght when your riding, and they really really hook up good. They hook better than my Razrs'. Some guys will say they wear down pretty fast, but I dont know about that, they are a softer than normal compound, but I think my Razr's and Holeshots wore faster. The biggest bitch about Turf Tamers is the punture prone 2 ply design. Not ideal for woods and rocks. The Razr 2 rear tires and Holeshot XCR tires are better woods tires.
  18. great job racing ben. those pictures are great, id really love to ride\race some terrain like that. What did you think about the Camelback ? I love mine. I have the racing picture of you set as my wallpaper for the past 2 days, tonight I thought I would erase all the orange cones..... here's what I come up with....
  19. seriously tho, take Blue Dueces advice and conviently become sick shortly before the show.
  20. who the hell is Tom ? "Fighting Tom" is the title of your thread, but the first sentence of your post asks...... Are you asking Tom for advice, or is the Tom the one to receive the ass kicking ? Well you asked for some tips so..... have you ever watched The Three Stooges? Moe had this move where he would use his index finger and his middle finger to poke Curly or Larry in the eyes. Hold your left hand above your head and wiggle your fingers, when Tom looks at the wiggling fingers, do the eye poke with your right hand. You must distract Tom with the wiggling hand method, otherwise he could quicky throw up a single hand placed upon the bridge of his nose, effectly blocking your eye poke. If you successfully pull off the "Curly eye poke", finish him off with a karate chop to the adams apple.
  21. "KABanshee" welcome to the forum. I dont think your going to like it here, this forum is very open and free speech is allowed here. Points for not locking this thread..... "u2354" just thought that guys out there might be interested and have some fun posting in binary. Its no big deal. "XTShee" found it interesting enough to post back in code a few time, the two guys(XTShee & u2345) seemed to have fun posting back and forth in binary. I thought it was interesting too, I knew you could do something like that with only Ones and Zero's, but have never seen it done before. Altho I have no idea what they said, it was amusing and interesting and not the least bit offensive to me. Someone locking my thread is 100 times more offensive. And if I did ever want to figure out what was said in binary, XTShee posted a link that would hook me up..... http://www.icdia.org/microware/using/using_a.pdf GREAT INFORMATION AND CONTRIBUTES TO THE FORUM. "Blue Duece" musta thought it was interesting enuf to throw in a comment too. So I would assume he was not offended or upset with the posting in binary problem. "Cotton Eyed Joe" wrote that he can read binary numbers, but didnt know how to do the letters? He then followed up with a binary post of his own, so it seems CEJ is interested also. We have 10,000 plus more members here who didnt reply and i'd bet there's a few others that found this binary stuff interesting. So..... IMO, The point of posting in this matter/form... is because.... its a goddam internet disscussion forum , you can post anything you want as long as its not hardcore porn-nudity or racial. And you just cant tell people what they can and what they cannot post just because you dont understand binary code or the point of posting in binary. Unless your forum allows the moderators to stop creative, smart people from posting threads the mods dont like or understand. hell yes ??
  22. hey i got something to say.... thanks lee for the new section.

    I Like It!

XC is woods racing. Desert racing is nothing like XC. Quads are setup very differently between the two race styles, only similarity I can think of is they both use big oversized gas tanks, and they both beat the piss out of the quads. Desert racing is usually WOT for many mile and the races are alot longer. Suspension is setup for a cushy ride so you dont get pounded for 500 miles, and the engine is setup for top end speed. XC racing is basically a fast paced trail ride through open fields, woods, mud, trails and most XC races include a MX section during the race. XC races are only 2 hours long and the courses average 8 or 9 miles long. Racers usually complete 3 or 4 laps during the race. Smooth, low-mid power band is the setup. I gotta get some sleep
  24. yea ben, how'd it go ??
