Hitting Pot Holes And Ditches Will It Hurt My Shee
Meat replied to ninjamaster's topic in General Banshee Discussion
NinjaMaster. I got a few questions for you. Are you on speed? How bout crack ? What about diet pills ? Did you drink too much Mountain Dew? Can I ride a Cr500 on the street ? How old are you ? Have you ever been to Uganda? Are you hyperactive ? Do you have info on weapons? What time is it ? How fast is a mission Banshee compared to a mission Raptor compared to a crf450 mission customized ? Where can I buy a pot hole? Does your mom know your up this late ? Where is Waldo? What is the best Cr ? A Yamaha or Suzuki ? Where can I buy Banshee only riding gear? What is pavement ? Ever been sane? Can you ride a BW200 on the snow? Are you a real ninja? Have you ever been to outer space ? -
If you buy a new frame directly from Yamaha.... it will come without any VIN number on it.

I rode a pretty trick 250 Quadracer for nearly 8 years, from '90 till '98. It was fast, there's no doubting that and I was fast on it. Then one day my buddy gets to borrow his freinds' Banshee with PT pipes on it. He would walk past my Quadracer like I was standing still and shower me with rocks. I rode it and had my QuadRacer up for sale soon after. I got my '88 Banshee the summer of '99. Hooked ever since.

Well the "old people suck" line was aimed at my grumpy grouchy bitchy neighbors, she's in her 70's, he's 80 somethin. So....... lets just say 75. At age 75 you suck. I just live in a tiny town, where the majority of the residents are retirees' and it seems all they enjoy doing is bitching and moaning about everything. It drives me nuts that I cant leave this place and have to listen to the old farts bitch and moan about everything. Not all the old folk suck tho, take Mr. Jack Azbill, an elderly Banshee rider who rides at the Dumont dunes. Jack wrote to me telling me all about his '99 Banshee. He's runnin' an 18cc domed head, chrome out of frame drag pipes, extended swingarm etc etc etc.... Jack is 67 years young. How cool is that ??? Jack's ride......

Twist throttle for me. I find it hard to beleive you thumb throttle guys cant ride and work a twist throttle at the same time, I can switch to a thumb throttled quad and the thumb action doesnt even enter my mind, its natural. Hop back on my twist throttled quad and never think about twisting. I really think its strange that you guys have a hard time with a twist throttle

Is There A 2-stroke Class In The Gncc
Meat replied to acracing55's topic in General Banshee Discussion
2 Stroke A, 2 Stroke B and 2 Stroke Novice are the only "2 strokes only" classes. You can run a 2 stroke in the Open A and Open B classes, the Women's class, the Pro class and i think thats about it. -
I am a HUGE fan of GNCC. www.gnccracing.com Brandon Ballance won the afternoon overall on the first race in' 03(Florida) Tim Farr races GNC, thats MX racing. Bill Ballance won the overall this year, thats 4 years in a row for him. Chris Borich came in second overall, he'll be running the #2 plate next season, borich is from Sunbury, 15-20 miles from my house. Traci Cecco tied with Stephanie Parton for the Womens' class overall this year. Traci was the Women's champ in '01, Parton was the Womens champ in '02 and this year, '03, and they tied the overall #1 spot, so they will share the Championship I guess. Traci Cecco and her husband Rick Cecco are both from my hometown. Rick Cecco races in the 4 stroke A class and came in 3rd overall this year, the 4 stroke A class is a one of the harder classes to race. Rick writes GNCC related articles for ATVSport. I have 6 top sponsered GNCC riders living withing 20 miles from me. Chris Borich second place overall and second place in the Pro class. Rides for Laeger\East Coast ATV Traci Cecco tied first place in the Womens class. Alba sponsered. Rick Cecco 3rd place overall in the 4 Stroke A class. Rides a Cannondale Tyson Thomas, injured this year, first place overall in the 2 Stroke A class last year. Nac's sponsership. Mike Lucas lives 20 miles from me, placed 5th overall in the Open A class, Mike rides a Banshee. The frame Im using on my yellow Banshee, I bought from Mike. Todd Rothermel also from my hometown, came in 4th overalll in the 2 Stroke A class. Jason Dunkleburger comes from the same little town where Coal Hill is located. Treverton is a small town of about 2500, my whole family is from Treverton. Dunk races GNC Pro Production class, he's not a GNCC racer but Dunkleburger is a top contender in the GNC pro class. I love the GNCC series, followed every race this year. Matt Smiley got the first Pro win for the new YFZ. Traci Cecco raced the last 2 races on a new YFZ and won both of em, she even won the morning races overall on the YFZ..... she beat all the boys that morning. Ballance raced a YFZ in the second from last race and came in 14th. Borich runs an LRD powered 250r.

take your chain off and clean it up really nice, use kerosene. Now take a good look at how it goes together and what link needs removed. You shouldnt need to take anymore than ONE link out, its actually 2 links, but you'll see what needs to be done. Ok, now that you figured out what links have to be removed, with a bench grinder, grind down the head of the pin. Grind it flat so its even with the plate. Again you'll understand what im saying once your in the process. With the head of the pin ground down, place the chain in a vice and with a punch, hammer the pin out. The pin might take some hammerin' to get it out, just dont bend anything from bangin' too hard. Take your time. If the pin is stubborn and wont come out, grind the head a little more on the bench grinder. Pound that pin out, put the masterlink back on and your done. If you have to take more than one link(actually 2 links) out, then its time for a new chain. You can take more links out, but the chain will be so stretched out that it wont seat in the sprocket and you'll eat sprockets pretty fast. So only do this quick fix once..... maybe twice if your really broke Remember..... be 100% sure your grinding the correct pin. Double check it b4 your grind it.

Ok according to Hinson's website, you dont need any special clutch basket to run the 8 plate setup, a regular ol' Hinson billet clutch basket will work, BUT you do need the special 8 plate Hinson inner hub & pressure plate. quote from Hinson's site\Banshee section\inner hub: "Must be used with Hinson part number H016(clutch basket) & HO21(pressure plate). Use of this setup will allow (1) extra fiber plate and (1) extra steel plate." The new YFZ450 Hinson clutch allows the use of extra plates, making the total 9 friction plates, but this is only on the YFZ. Banshee's go up to 8 plates, YFZ go up to 9 plates.
-
yes you are correct, 6 plates and 7 frictions. so your telling me the Hinson setup uses TWO more friction plates than stock ?? Try the 6\7 combo and see if that helps with your adjustment problems. The way you described it, you have everything right and your doing everything right, the only wierd thing I can see is the 8 plate deal. I'll go to Hinsons site and see what they're selling.
-
Yep. I could be wrong, its berry berry late but Im pretty sure there should only be 7 plates and 7 frictions in the basket. You need to run the special fancy Hinson setup to run the 8 plate setup. And its just not a regular ol' Hinson clutch basket, you need the special Hinson 8 plate basket and 8 plate hub. I dont know if this is going to help your adjustment problem, but I do know that you have too many plates in there.

The only place I use a tork wrench is on the head nuts, everywhere else I just tighten em up snug.
-
zip ties and duct tape fix everything.

Fuel Mixture Please Help Asap By Tomorrow
Meat replied to ninjamaster's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I assume you sayin' you used water right from the kitchen sink. Your supposed to use distilled water cause tap water has crap floatin' around in it, minerals and teeny tiny bugs and flouride for your teeth and rust from your pipes etc etc.... What I do is...... I have one of those water purifier pitchers, I fill up a pot full of water and boil the fucker for 5 minutes, then I pour it through the water purifier pitcher, let it cool so you dont hurt yourself and then I mix it 50-50 with some antifreeze. Running 100% water will cool better than mixing it, but like everyone said..... dont do it, you need that antifreeze in there to protect from colder temps, help lube the coolant system and protect it from corrosion. Get a small cup, fill it with the purified\distilled water and throw it in your radiator, now fill up the small cup with antifreez and throw that in the radiator, do the water again..... then do the antifreez again. Keep fillin' till the radiator is topped off, there ya go... 50-50 mix of water and antifreeze. Here's a premix chart if you need one........ http://www.thebansheezone.com/Bansheezone/PreMixChart.htm -
The problems is the 8 plate clutch kit. The 8 plate kit is to be used Hinson's clutch basket & a special 8 plate Hinson inner hub. The stock Banshee's basket is designed to hold only 7 plates.

First thought that popped into my head was he's running lean.

Ben lets do it. I have never been a hot pepper fan, but id be willing to give em a try. Walter, I can hook you up with some regs, I dont have many left, about 30 of em total so there's no trading pounds of soupie. B if you ever make it down to Shamokin' you'll just owe me a beer or 3, and you gotta pound one down with me too. XTShee..... I would definitly trade ya a couple for some of that 1 year old extra pure, double distilled home brewed Drambuie. Id throw in a pile of jerky too. I know you wanna try jerky But shipping to NZ... wow. I guess I could do it if your up for it. Guys I cant tell you what these things are exactly worth, but they do sell em at a few local stores for $10 bucks a soupie. So if anyone wants to deal, trade me your stuff in $10 dollars increments. I'll give you 3 soupies worth about $30 bucks for.... $30 bucks worth of whatever you have to trade. Make sense ? I guess I could go and buy some too if anyone wants to send cash.... but Im not sure If I could buy em anywhere, they're sorta seasonal.

Tim, just make sure your plastics are totally clean, put some Simple Green on a rag and lightly go over your plastics where the decals will be placed. Put em on in a heated garage, dont try it in the cold. Scrub your hands\fingers too, otherwise the dirt will pull right off your fingers and onto the stickyside of decal. The seat covers are easy if you take your time, have a buddy to help stretch it and use a good air powered staple gun. Heat up the seat cover before you put it on, lay it next to your garage heater or if you live down south just lay it out in the sun for a few hours b4 you try to install it.

Jason, your very close to Shamokin, trailer that quad and come up to the strippins' riding. Me and my son go EVERY weekend, the place is getting packed with riders, there's talk now that the county might buy up the strippin's and make it into a trail system like the Hatfield-McCoy trails, it was in the local newspaper last week. Its free to ride here now, but if they make it a legit place to ride, the place is going to be awsome. We rode at Coal Hill on Sunday and there were 50 guys riding there, and 25 trucks parked there. Have you tried riding at Rausch Creek at all ?? Thats pretty close to ya too.
-
I gotta pole for ya....
-
Tuff shit, here comes a comment. How bout tellin' us what is included in this kit..... cheif.
-
I also see that he accepts money orders...... so he would have to give out his mailing address. It says he's from Michigan, im sure someone here has got to live close to this guy.
-
I assume no one here has bought one of his CD's yet. Maybe.... the content on his CD is completly entirely totally different than's Ben's writeup. Maybe the guy just used Ben's jetting list for his Ebay ad. Id like to see whats on his CD. Should I buy one just to see whats up, or is that a bad idea ??
