Amount Of Oil On Air Filter Is It Needed W/outwear
Meat replied to teamriot's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Yes absolutly put oil on that foam filter. I have the Toomey filter too, and what i do is clean the filter first with kerosene, pour the kero inside the filter through the cage, get a little bucket full of kero to dip the filter in, once you have the filter clean, blow it out with compressed air. Clean your outerwear the same way, with kerosene. I like to use a hair-blow dryer thngy to dry off my Outerwear, I usually clean my Outerwear after every 2 or 3 rides. Spray your oil on in vertical lines, spining the filter on your hard, get the spray lines close to each other but they dont have to overlap. After you spray all the way around the filter, get a clean shop rag and rub in the oil, spreading it around to cover any dry foam. Re-shoot it with a little more oil if its needed to cover all the foam. Now get a another clean shop rag and lightly dab the foam to get any extra oil off, you dont need much oil on the surface of the foam as long as you have rubbed the oil deep into the foam. Now throw on your perfectly cleaned Outerwear on being carful not to smoosh it up against the foam. Start it up and sit there warming it up for 2 minutes longer than you normally do. This will help "dry" out the oily filter somewhat. Now go have fun and you should be good to go for atleast 6 to 8 hours riding time on the foam filter and you should clean the outerwear every 2 to 4 hours you ride. Gas also works great on the Outerwear and it NO it doesnt damage the Outerwear. I dont use gas on the foam filter tho. Kerosene on the foam. Hope that made some sense......... You'll get your own little filter cleaning ritual, just experiment around with what I just wrote. -
Yes the race was the Pont de Vaux race in France, Banshees win it every year. This is high speed race, topend quads like the Banshee are well suited for this race. American Doug Eichner and his team won it 3 years ago on a killer blue Duncan Banshee. The french team that won it last year, won the race this year, Eichner's team came in second. The winning french tema rode a Banshee with FMF Fattys\PCIIs. Thats another big race win for the FMF guys. First three places were riding Banshees' fourth place went to another Yamaha quad, the new YFZ450, and a Raptor nabbed 5th. 6th and 7th place went to those funky looking "W-Tec Eraser" with 520 KTM engines. Iv heard the 520 KTm motors are one of the best 4 strokes engines ever made. The second and third place Banshee's were both Duncan Banshees with PT hi-revs. Its a cool race, iv heard about it a few years ago. Its a 12 hour long race around a big grassy oval track, I guess theres a few TT style jumps placed around the track. Teams are either 2 or 3 man teams. Here's a paragraph from ATVSports writeup... (Lassaigne is the winning frenchman) "After a few laps of the third session, it was becomeing clear that Lassaigne was on a roll and might be unstoppable in his quest for his second-consecutive PDV victory. The Banshee was running flawlessly and the only remaining scheduled pit stops would be for fuel. By the 11th hour he was nine minutes ahead of Eichner. Then, with only 10 minutes to go, the Banshee lost a cylinder. D'eja' Vu is the feeling you've experienced something before and with the motor on his Banshee failing, the feeling was real for Lasaingne. Last year at PDV, his Banshee blew a coolant hose just 200 yards from the finish and had to push the 350-pound machine over the finish line for the win. So now it was anyone's guess if the Banshee could survive on one healthy cylinder--and the smoke pouring from the sick cylinder didn't look very encouraging. Somehow tho, the single 175cc barrel stayed alive and pulled Lassaigne the remaing half-dozen miles to the finish line." Now here's the Banshee, a 16 year old design beating the pants off of these new big 4-strokes. In the PDV race the Banshee's beat all the Raptors, all the YFZ450's all the DS650's all the Polaris Predators and all the fancy KTM 520 quads.

I was selling conversion kits for only $120 & $130 depending if you needed 2 upper a-arm bolts, thats nearly half the price of ATVRacing. I plan on making more kits in the future, im having welder problems right now and I was pretty busy with my job the last few months, things are slowing down at my job so I hope to back making quality kits sometime soon after X-mas. You asked if anyone was riding with a conversion kit. I rode mine for 2 seasons(April-Dec) and everything held up fine, no cracks, no problems to report. I rode mine for 6 months before I sold my first conversion kit just to make sure they would hold up. Iv sold about...... a dozen kits so far and I havent had anyone contact me with a problem, either installing the kit or riding with the kit. If you look at the banshee zone\conversion kit section, you should be able to fab up a kit yourself. There's quite a few angles to cut, so buy some extra tubing and experiment till its right.

you'll like the 13 tooth sprocket, it should help acheive what your describing you want. Hell they're only 10 bucks and an hours time to install its worth it just to experiment. It actually only takes 2 minutes to install the sprocket, it takes 58 minutes to adjust the chain tho

Just take your used V-force gaskets to the autoparts store and buy a sheet of gasket paper the same thickness as your used gaskets. Cost of a sheet of gasket paper is about a dollar, and you can cut about 4 or 6 reed cage gaskets out of one sheet.

Never try to kiss a rattlesnake. Dont wash your colors with your whites. Dont scratch it, put some cream on it and see a doctor. Underwear first, THEN pants. If its big and brown, then its going down. (deerhunting advice) Stay away from Allpro cycles and SandToyz LOL. Dont argue with Quick or Blue Duece. Never stick your dick in a gopher hole. Elbows up, knees high !! (football advice) Stay away from Richard Simmons. Stay away from Polaris'. Do it right the first time. Hit the fuckin' pipe ! Women are the downfall of all great men. (Al Bundy advice) Use the correct flywheel puller. Have fun and welcome to BHQ

welcome to the BansheeHQ forums. Dont be shy now

FOX DECAL !!!! for your truck !!!!! are your sure you drive a truck and not a purple and green pimped out Honda Civic ?? Besides, official BHQ rules state that unless your under the age of 19 your not allowed to own anything "Fox" related. IMHO, Fox is so last year. Shift, Thor, O'neil and Moose are where its at. I pick up my kid from school and every kid in the 7th grade has a Fox sweatshirt on. Too too commercial for me. Ahh but then again..... Fox does sponsor Bubba Stewart and thats cool I guess. Notice that Fox sells "honda" gear and nothing with the "yamaha" written on it. Are you a closet Honda-guy ?? Awww, Im just bustin' your balls Fixtrod

Sneeky get pics and i wanna hear all the details of the race. Keep your head up, elbows up, stay loose, pace yourself, race smart and be careful.

No she's not, she hasnt been with the BHQ for 1\4th the time BHQ has been around. So whats the story, when she left I didnt bother to ask why. Holyman I seen your thread about Brooke lurking on the site, but yes its been deleted I guess. Kinda off topic but will "Jer\Quick\Balony" and "Toomeyshee87" be allowed to post on this forum now ? And some advice to the moderators of the mighty BHQ forum. Over-moderating sucks and alot of times it ruins good forums, make wise choices. The BansheeHQ forum is my favorite forum, and there's many reasons why BHQ kicks ass, the first being all the great people here, another reason is all the knowledge found here, and another reason WAS..... because there are no moderators and you can say or do almost whatever you please. I know for a fact that all the mods are great assets to this forum and I dont expect to see any moderating bullshit. But.... give it a year or so and we'll see what happens to the moderated BHQ. For cryin' out loud you cant even say\spell f*ck anymore. NYUK wrote...... I agree that HQ WAS FINE the way it was. Could you tell us why you think its "turnin' into BT for Banshees" and why you think the powers allready gone to their heads. Id love to hear you reasoning for your post...... and stirr up a little controversy "Mighty Abyss"\"." I agree with alot of what you wrote, good post bro.

yep somethings not right with your head. You shouldnt have any leaks.... ever. My nosshead has been on for 3 years now and it never leaks, its been off about 4 times in those past 3 years and she never leaks. This past summer I had an O-ring blow out, but I just popped a new one in and its been good so far. There's a possiblity that your O-ring grooves were not cut deep enuf. Davie Noss, how deep should the O-rings grooves be ??? And like the others said, if you want a head that uses a stock head gasket, and doesnt have interchangable domes, then just get your stock head shaved.

Well said blue duece. who the hell is tats4life ?? Id like a set of chrome hi-revs for my Rz-shee project. There's another advantage for the Paul Turners, they're the best pipe to use with Rz engines, they clear the powervalve bulge on the left cylinder.

Hell I rode my quadracer for quite a few years without any rear brakes. This was b4 the internet and old suzuki rear calipers were hard to come by, so I never had my rear brakes fixed. On my Banshees, with working rear brakes, I found that I use my front brakes 75% more than the rears, id only use the rear brakes if it was necessary to stop really really fast, otherwise the fronts did the job fine. I lost my rear brake caliper back in the early summer and have never fixed it, iv been riding for 6 months now without any rear brake. Do I miss it ? Yes and no, its nice to have a rear brake and one day i'll have it fixed, but I really dont miss it, I can ride all weekend long and never once think about that missing rear brake. I gotta agree with that comment. If the rears are more important than the fronts, then why do these new ATV's come with dual piston front calipers and old crappy single piston rear caliper. And the single lever \ brake proportioning ideas sucks, have you ever rode one of those Pooplaris with the single brake lever that controls all the braking. It sucks big time.

Yea NYUK, its gone. Iv decided to trade up with B370. Thanks guys for all the interest, it was fun.

I have the same story, cept my frame cracked. Do you have to cut your front plastics for the Clarke tank ?? What color did you get ??
