  1. Ok, I mighta missed something here, iv only been surfin' the new forum for 20 minutes...... but where are all the old threads from the last BHQ forums ???
  2. ha, my buddy at chencer.com doesnt use any airfilter. WOC wide open carbs. That was on his first frankenstien streetbike gone dirt. Whatta bike that was
  3. I run a Toomey 2:1 UNI filter with a black outerwear. Klotz foam filter oil. The setup works great but........ My Banshee will bogg real bad whenever I hit a big puddle. Im starting to suspect the bogg is caused by the open airfilter is getting wet. I just bought a new Outerwear for it, its supposed to be waterproof, but it didnt help. Im thinkin aboug going back to the airboxpro flo combo. The bogging is pretty bad, and doesnt kill the quad, it keeps running but its sputterin and boggin for about 200 yards then it "clears it throat" and running great. I have to figure this problem out, I cant be braking for every mudpuddle I come across, and installing the airbox might work... .... Id hate to lose the Toomey filter setup tho. whatchas think?
  4. In reality all I asked is WHY I have to support it financally. If I asked you for money, but didnt give you a clear reason why I needed the money, wouldnt you want to know why and where im spending your money? And if you did ask me "why do you want my money meat" and I just ignored you, woulnt that sorta piss you off ? Now that things have been cleared up by Lee, I have a better understanding where my hard earned dollar is going. I dont want to spend my money on adding new forums or subforums to BHQ, and I dont want to pay Stu Toomey or whoever.... for thier opinions, I dont want stickers or any physical objects for my membership. If Lee needs cabbage to keep BHQ online, then all he had to say was "help". Hell, id rather donate hard cash to the cause than be in some kinda premier club forum thing. And Brooke darling, Im sorry if I offened you or if you thought my questions were "rude". I think "papa smurf's" last post was a good one and summed up my thoughts to the T. Frankly I think all the members of this site desirve straight forward answers to straight forward questions. Again, sorry if I stepped on any toes. My questions were not intended to be rude..... or as you said... "trying to start a fight. Now lets get off the topic of me and my rude questions and get back to the topic of this thread.
  5. Lee thanks for answering my question. And my question was legit, no way did I ever invision you "lining your pockets" with our money. I just simply wanted to know why you guys needed to add a premium members section. Brooke.... whatever
  6. well excuse me :x No I dont think its rude, cause if im payin' a couple of college people(no offense now) some money to veiw an ATV forum that has banner ads on it, I wanna know where that money is going, thats all. Dont you think its RUDE when I asked my legit question 9 days ago only to be ignored and then get a rude reply back ? Let me make this clear, guys are afraid of you Brooke, they dont want to ask the tuff questions like where's the money going, they're afraid of a reply that is going to blacklist em or possibly worse, you'll ban em from the forum. oh I have an idea, and my idea is around $30 to $50 bucks a month. I have seen website hosts that offer 50megs of space and unliminted bandwith for $9.99 a month, once you go over 50 megs of space the price goes up, but still with tons of space the price is still under $30 bucks a month. $50 bucks a month is a high price. And damnit you college kids should be able to have the site hosted for free, you guys should know somebody who knows somebody who's sister's roommate can get you some discount hosting. NOW..... factor in the banner ads are chipping in on the hosting price, and it gets me thinking.... why am I paying anything? The additional forums, and forum subgroups and the special guests.... how is that costing you money?? ..... bandwith I guess..... I dunno.... thats why I asked............ 9 days ago. I put hundreds of hours or work into my dinky website. Taking pictures, downloading from the camera, editing pictures which is a pain in the ass and takes awhile, figuring out Frontpage cause I suck at it cause Im a mechanic not a webnerd, uploading pictures to the site, organizing the main link list when new content is added, writing "how to's" on rebuilding the entire quad, spell checking!!, answering all the emails I get about the website, paying my hosting service, and then uploading updates on a dial up modem uggg.
  7. hello... .... ben posted a pile of great ideas....... but why do we have to pay for that stuff ? Would you have to pay Stu Toomey or other "names" to come and answer some questions ? Whats the story with the banner ads that fly on BHQ, where's that money going ? hello....... is there anybody out there
  8. The statement that the Honda CRF450 is making more HP than the YFZ motor is false. THe yamaha makes more HP and hits harder than the CRF. Wow you dont know much about Banshee's and the Baja. Just like 99nhbanshee said, the Banshee won more Baja races than any other quad. Ever hear of Dean Sundahl ? Btw the Banshee is made my the unrealible Yamaha company. My neighbor has a yellow 400ex. So when did the yellow ones come out ?? 2001 I think. Well anyways, he cant start it with his electric starter. You can hear him tryin..... for 30 minutes and it wont fire up. So a little while later I see him on the quad, getting towed behind a truck and he pops the clutch and it finally fires up. While they're unhooking it from the truck the quad backfires as loud as an M-80 and shuts off. That was a few months ago, early summer. The quad sits in his back yard with a tarp over it, he hasnt ran it since. The biggest flaw on the 250r is the frame crackage..... notorious for cracking thier frames. The facts are, no matter what brand your loyal to, sooner or later something is going to break on it. I think Iv broken just about every part on my Banshee, my Quadracer and my ol' Quadsport. My buddies with 250x's, 400ex's and 250r's had just as much trouble. No lying, just being honest here.
  9. hello... Great ideas, but I can get a microfiche and advice all day long for free. Yep, well said.
  10. I agree NYUK, big waste of bandwith. this little boy should have gotten the boot from here long ago..... but instead "ToomeyShee87" gets banned for ONE stupid comment and Quick gets banned for raggin' on Sandtoyz. Oh well..... whatcha gonna do  ..... I thought Quadin' got banned, I havent seen him post for awhile, when I seen this thread I was hesitant to click, but its too late now.... and im pissed. Who is finding this stuff funny or amusing ?? :? Lucky im not paying to visit this forum :x or id be flippin' out and bustin' your balls everytime you opened your 13 year old mouth.
  11. yea ben posted a pile of great ideas....... but why do we have to pay for that stuff. I mean.... who's getting the money here and where is it being spent. All of Ben's ideas and the other suggestions from the other guys sound like they can all be offered for free. In reality its the members of the forum that would be doing most of the workwriting. Would you have to pay Stu Toomey or other "names" to come and answer some questions.... if thats the case, then fuck em. Im not payin' Toomey or any big name in the biz to answer a couple of Banshee questions that guys on the forum can answer all day long............. for free. Ben, look around for a good website host. Im payin' 10 bucks a month for 50megs and unliminted bandwith. Whats the story with the banner ads that fly on BHQ, where's that money going, put that towards payin' Toomey to come and hold a sermon.
  12. Holy crap you guys are great. Thats exactly what I needed to know. Thanks a bunch, i'll let you know how it turns out.
  13. K, I wanna get rid of my handlebar mounted headlight switcherkill switch contraption. I wanna hook my lights up to a toggle switch which im gonna mount somewhere in the tank cover plastic. Last night I unbolted the switch and took it off my handlebars. There were 5 wires going to the light switch, a blue one, green one, a yellow one, a yellow one with a red stripe.... and one more wire that I cant remember the color. There were only 2 wires going to the kill switch, a black one and a black one with a white stripe. I only looked at the switch and wires for 5 minutes, I know I could figure out what wires I need to make my headlights work, but I was hoping someone might know what color wires I need to attach to my toggle switch to make my headlights work. and what do I need to do with the 2 kill switch wires? I lost my haynes manual, and there's NOTHING on the banshee zone about wiring either
  14. whatta buttmunch. what would posses a person to go psycho on an ATV forum ?? just some odd people out there I guess. I wonder what this guy is like, to 'get off' on messing around with a forum. He cant be any older than 14 or 15. Just makes you wonder what makes him tick.... its almost like he is retarded, or has some kind of learning problems, mental problems, Is he psychotic or is it just puberity ? I can remember some of my buddies were pretty nutz when we were 14-15 yrs old, I guess this kid is going through that phase of his life. juvie, ha. good job lee & brooke, post his IP address sometime....
  15. wow thats way wrong, everyone knows that the honda frame was and still is far from perfect. Read some dirt bike mag shootouts, the CR's suck ass. The YZ's have been the best bikes for the past 5 years now. And from what I understand, the CRF motor is no better than the YZF motor, they are both great 4 strokes that have slightly different powerbands.
  16. 1. Have you had a problem when hitting water? YES 2. Did it bog or rev? BOG 3. Do you have stock carbs? YES 4. Do they have the tors still on top? NO 5 What year is your banshee? 1988
  17. happy birthday you old fart.
  18. Really stupid question but I was working on my website and this has been buggin' me...... what is the proper word to use when talking about the "powerplant" of an ATV? Should it be called a "motor" or an "engine" ? When I think "motor" I think electrical motors. Engine just doesnt sound right either..... proper English isnt never been me strong point.
  19. my RZ is 18 years old and has 8000 miles on it..... and its still running on the stock bore and pistons. I have never checked the compression on it, it runs great and starts up on 1 or 2 kicks.
  20. Here's one of those new guys that hasnt been warned about the troubles some guys are having with customer service at SandToyz. I cant get into it with you Franka21, its ban-able to speak any negativity about SandToyz. BTW sandtoys is a ATV parts vendor who advertises here on these forums.
  21. The only other kit I know of costs $200 plus they want another $17 for shipping and they only include one A-arm bolt, you have to buy the other one from your dealer at a cost of about $10 per bolt. $217 for ATVRacing's kit. my kit, $125 total with both A-arm bolts included. They are not as easy to fabricate as you might think...... The tube steel I use is thicker walled and larger diameter than the competiton and the plate steel I use for the A-arm mounting tab is also thicker. The long 10-inch A-arm bolts cost me nearly $20 for 2 bolts and I im only charging $5 for shipping while the actual cost of shipping is $10, so im pitchin in $5 bucks for shipping. Fuck ATVRacing, they have raped enuf Banshee owers.
  22. Craig I wasnt referring to you at all, I know you and Dave are freinds and things are cool. Other guys will be getting all worked up when they see this thread and they will have their say on the subject. I just hate to see name calling and bickering about a really non-important subject in the grande scheme of life. P.S. did I use enuf adjectives in my last post  !! LOL
  23. Define "faster". Are you lookin for straight line drag racing faster, or are you talking about faster on a MX track or everyday normal trail riding fast ? I dont have any drag racing experience, but others have said the ported 350 will be faster in a straight line drag race over an equally modded and ported 404. Not sure of the reasoning, but I dont have any proof either way which is faster in a straight line. Iv been riding these quads since '87 and have zero experience drag racing, its just not done here. Everyone who rides were I ride is into hill climbing, snow riding, sliding, donuts, trail riding, racing around homemade tracks and basically just fuckin around. Now some guys build thier banshees to win drag races, and thats great, but alot of us build our banshees for everything else but drag racing. If you wanna drag race only then listen to the drag racing guys recommendations and get a drag ported 350. If you ride your quad where you have to steer it, slide it, wheelie it, power up hills it, fast eye watering trail ride it, deep muddin', fallen tree hoppin, trail riding then Id would say without a doubt in my mind that a broad powered, non lightswitch, torquey, reliable, strong running mx ported big bore will get you through the trails faster than any high revving, high strung, weak low end power, strong top end powered drag ported 350. Id bet I could race my mx ported 404 through 5 miles of woods, rocky tight paths and muddy twisty trails faster than any equally modded and mx ported 350. Anyone wanna try to race me with thier drag banshees through the woods and trails.... you'll acually have to turn the handlebars and steer for this race, and maybe use the suspension too. I dont think this thread has to be about bashing each other, remember we are all here for the same reason and thats the love of riding our quads and meeting and chatting with guys&gals from all over the world who share a similar interest. Either way you build your Banshee... its gonna haul ass.
