valin, i see your on here now too......LOL. i never knew that you had a banshee. is your shee ported?....the exhaust port modified? on stock OEM porting, IMO the 20cc domes would be a little tight. i would stick to the 21cc domes. i have a stock "2guy-2" head that i can cc the dome here if you like. valin, what is the casting # on the top of your stock head? the "1guy" heads were larger in cc size than the "2guy" heads.

doesn't the manual call for like 10w-30 or 10w-40 motorcycle oil? i personally use the belray gear saver oil.
-
you got the float bowls on the right carbs? there is a jet, down one of the tubes in the float bowl casting, on one of the float bowls, and that bowl goes on the carb w/the choke lever. also, are your carbs in snyc to one another? check for a air leak on intake boots, where the boost bottle plugs in. what is your elevation and riding temps? mains seems a little small to me. pilots and needles sound good.

intercepter is aimed for engines w/power valves. dominator is designed for engines that are mildly modified to full race motors. saber is designed for chainsaws. i personally use dominator @ 50:1. IMO, between the 3 amsoil choices above, i would run the dominator, especially if your engine is modified. second choice IMO would be intercepter.

i think we need a sticky on this subject, as this question seems to come up a few times a week. i personally run .050", but some like to run .040-.045".
-
when you say it runs like $hit, what exactly do you mean? does it sputter, does it not have good throttle response, does it seems to just not make power, or what??
-
in his signature i thought it said stock carbs?? i would start @ 350's w/stock carbs @ 1000ft.
-
i would start @ 350 mains.

LOL....i love that movie. my shee makes sooo much power w/the Mr. Fusion, that i can go back in time to the year 1955 and then back to the year 1985.....LOL. Doc, Doc.....you built a time machine, out of a Delorian? 1.21 jigawatts....it's like a bolt of lightening......LOL. -
we need to know your mods and elevation and riding temps

also the connection for the run/off switch was loose/poor. fixed that and all is well now.
-
.....that makes heads and billet goodies.

thanks guys. it seems that it was the ignition key switch connection, as i unplugged it and then just plugged it back in, and now i have great spark. i fired it up and got it going, but now when i turn the bars or drive it, it will die, like the connection keeps coming loose, or the bars are pulling on some wire or something. i'll have to look into that tonight. thanks for the tips.

ok guys, working on a shee here and have a spark issue.....it will spark on the 1st kick, but then no more. i've replaced the spark plug caps, coil, cdi box, stator, flywheel, and pickup coil and still no change. maybe there is a rub-thru in the wiring somewhere, where the wire is getting grounded out on the frame?? any ideas fellas?

oh, i was reading over on this blaster forums site, that the stock blaster carb was a 28mm. if its the same 26mm as the stock carb, then there is no sense in changing them over. thanks guys.
-
anyone ever try putting blaster carbs on a banshee? i believe blaster carbs are 28mm. instead of punching out the stock banshee carbs to 27mm to 27.5mm, i would think it would be better to put on some 28mm blaster carbs and maybe even bore them out 1mm or so for a little more top end hp, if the person wanted. i would also think it would be cheaper, especially for those that can bore out their own carbs. so, anyone try blaster carbs and if so, how did it work out? any input appreciated.

stock head can plane it and how much can I go

cut it .030" -
you getting only 115lbs of compression, can be due to a number of things......new rings not fully seated, your comp gauge, and the exhaust port being raised (it looks like it from the pics), just to name a few.
-
was the base or deck of your cylinders cut at all? what do you get for a measurement from the cylinder deck to the cylinder base and what do you get for a dimension from the cylinder deck to the exhaust port roof and port floor?
-
thanks guys for the honest input. i figured they probably weren't too great of pipes....hence the reason i never heard anything about them before.....LOL. i'll save my $ for something better.
-
you must do the squish test w/the head gasket on and base gasket on!! just as it would be in running order. also, it wouldn't necessarlily mean that you would get a reading of "0" w/o the head gasket, as the piston's crown edge doesn't come flush to the cylinder deck. usually around .017" deck height.

right now i have my stock carbs bored to 27.1mm, cases ported, cylinders ported, stock head cut .030", fatty pipes w/pc2 silencers, no snorkel w/modded airbox lid, and carbon tech reeds. my porting has 188* of exhaust duration and the exhaust port is WIDE.....75% of bore width. intakes are opened way up and i'm planning on raising my transfers, to drop my blow down timing a little. i think i might give the pipes a try. if they don't work to my liking, don't be surprised if you see them in the classifieds.....LOL.
-
what if i can get them for say......$150......should i scoop? i wish i could find some dyno sheets on these twin pipes. anybody out there that has these pipes personally, or who drove a shee w/these pipes? i was thinking of trying a setup that's more for mid-top (just for the heck of it), so i was thinking these pipes should beat my fattys for that job??
-
hey fellas, i'm working on a banshee for a guy and his shee has some dynoport twin pipes. they look close to like cpi inframes or something, by there larger outside diameter. i never knew that dynoport made twin pipes. are these decent pipes? they appear to be a pipe aimed for mid-top? he would be willing to sell them to me, as he is selling the banshee. what's a good price for them? also, they have the matching silencers. should i scoop these pipes up? thanks for the input.

sorry about your loss bro. the guy that "PORTED" your cylinders, doesn't know $hit.....well, he knows 1 thing for sure and that is how to ruin a set of good cylinders.....LOL. i have a port guy that i can recommend to you if need be. he (you know who you are:) ) did my buddies banshee and it rocks. yeah, see if you can get your money back. that really sucks. keep checking ebay now for new cylinders. the ports aren't even chamfered!!!!!
