  1. Yea the choke tube is on. I took apart the carbs and cleaned them both really good, I made sure everything was hooked up correct before starting it.
  2. Hey everyone, I hope you guys can help me out with this. First of all, my SHEE is having a hard time starting up. For me to get it going I have to put a spray of carb cleaner down under the spark plugs and have it at WOT so it will start on the First kick. Once it is running I have to have the choke out halfways for it to keep on running, If I pull the choke out all the way out or all the way in it will die after about 5 seconds without touching the throttle. When i start getting the revs a little high, the right exhaust pipe beggins to back fire then let go of the throttle and it seems normal again. What should I do??What should I Check?? FMF fattys boost bottle k&N with lid on, no snorkel 270 mains, 27.5 pilots, 1.5 turns out, middle clip TORS still on carbs but disconnected Thanks!
  3. I have the same problem going on right now with my machine. Did you ever get this fixed? What was the problem If you did?
  4. SHEEEEEES ALIVEEEEEE!!!...I finally got her started and idleing fine but now my right side exhaust throws out a sudden burst of air when i start givig it some gas, ugh now another problem, can you guys help me with this one now? Thnks
  5. So this morning I tore down the top end and inspected everthing ther. The cylinders are perfect, no scratches no marks. The pistons and the rings are excellent too. I checked my reeds and also look new, I just gave them a cleaning and put it back together. All new gaskets. I cleaned my intake boots and air filter box so there is no dirt on it. I took my carbs apart and cleaned like there is no tomorrow. Cleaned the pilot screw, choke tube, mains (270), pilots (27.5), and checked the float height as it was within spec. 1.5 turns out on the screw. Put new spark plugs at .30 gap. So once everything was ready I gave it a try and nothing, absoluteley nothing. I then took the plugs out and put some carb cleaner in there. I gave it just one kick and started for about 2 seconds and diead again. What now? Thanks for the help everyone!
  6. LOL i'm just as confused, thanks for the reply. My elevation is 4000ft. I did the compression test a couple of times cus it seemed strange to be getting the same on both sides, thats the reason I havnt opened it up yet so i dnt know what my cylinders look like. The gas is only about 4 days old. And yes I cleaned my carbs real good and the pilots are brand new. What else can I chek before rebuilding?
  7. I'm taking my cylinders to a local machine shop. Its my first rebuild what size should i bore it?
  8. OK so its time for a rebuild. So where should I start? I want to do as much as I can on my own and I'm also on a budget of about 500. I do have a manual for guidence. The SHEE is a 2004 with not to many hours on it. Besides the FMF pipes and silencers, boost bottle and k&n that just got put on bout a week ago the bike is all original. It ran hard and I know it crapped out cus I ran it too lean. How do I tell if I need to bore it or just hone it? What kind and size pistons sound right? Is it possible for it just to need new rings? Thanks Again for the info!
  9. i know the thread on the guage is a little shorter but not by much. If i am getting 92 psi should the engine at least start up? The carbs are clean and properly jetted now. What should i try before opening it up?
  10. And what reading were you getting, ended up with? I did try it a couple of times to recheck and got the same reading at 90psi..but i will try it again to make sure cus i'm still hoping i dnt have to tear it up. Thanks
  11. I borrowed it from autozone...Is that good? what am i looking at as far as rebuilding?
  12. Ok, after my compression test i'm getting 90 psi on both sides :: What now? Is it the rings? Do I need a whole new top end?
  13. :shoothead: I agree...So I pulled both plugs out and they seem pretty normal to me. No aluminum on either one, not shiny, they are a light brown color and seem a little rich. What now? Thanks!
  14. Whats up everyone! I'm fairly new to the Banshee world and I have now encountered my first problem. So heres my story, I just re jetted my banshee about a week ago and went out riding during the weekend with no problems. Today I went out for a ride again and it seemed like it was a little lean on the bottom end from 0 to 1/4 throttle. After ridig for about an hour I was on my way home when it felt and heard like if my left piston stopped working. I shut it off then tried restarting and it never did. Any ideas of what it could be? What is the first thing I should check out? FMF fattys K&N filter 270 Mains stock pilots 4000 ft elev.
  15. i just got my 2004 banshee about two weeks ago completely stock and now its has: K&N filter...boost bottle...FMF fatty pipes with powercore2 silencers can you please tell me the jetting specs i should do so it could run at its best? should i remove the snorkel and lid off the air filter? ELEV = 3740.0 ft Temp. = 90 - 100F dry heat also what gas to oil ratio should i be using? Thanks in advance!
