  1. Bunch o' pussies. LOL!! Kid, your thoughts as to freedom, etc. make me jealous. I remember believing as you once did before becoming so cynical and conformist. Alas, we all have to grow up one day... Pay attention to what some of these guys are saying, be safe when you do what you have to do, don't lose sight of your freedom, and enjoy your riding....
  2. You should try it--and with the set-up you mention, you won't need a larger carb. They are easier to tune, no carbs to balance, etc. Those set-ups come up for sale a lot because people eventually want to move up to a proper dual-carb set-up. And incidentally, 28mm PWK's flow quite well and they can be tuned for excellent all-around power...
  3. Dude, it's like cam-caps and heads on a DOHC 4-poker... Sometimes (maybe many times) you'll get away with using unmatched sets, but it is not the right thing to do. I'd put the work in...
  4. 450's are fast, as you're learning. The mods listed might put you at about their level, or maybe just slightly ahead. To truly decimate stockish 450's, you'll have to do some porting... The +7 or 8 timing sounds a little high. With stock cylinders, I'd do +4. And your Keihin 35's might be a bit much with no porting and that pipe--you might be better off with some 28 or 29mm PWK's. IMHO.
  5. Hey, Read the Fooking Rules--if you have no interest, don't butt in on these For Sale ads....
  6. Ditto. They won't stress or break unless you really tweak on them--it's pretty flexible plastic...
  7. Victor--you're a little late; check your PM's... Carbs and Head are gone...
  8. 290's are way too small... Most "dune ports" are closer to "drag ports," so you'll want to err on the side of a bit rich...
  9. Slo, I think you answered your own question. Think about how your ride your Shee, and the analogy you propose. At constant thorttle, the size of the carb orifice is almost immaterial. Add the need to accelerate, however, and things change dramatically. It is well known that the larger carbs do not provide optimum charging when called to accelerate from a low RPM in a low-vauum scenario. The smaller ones do better in that respect. It is also well known that the larger carbs do a much better job of filling the cylinders at higher RPMs'--but you've already wsaid all of this... There. LOL!
  10. Check out Minkia (site sponsor)--he will have the OEM box (used) you need for plug 'n play...
  11. News flash--OUr Banshees have NO CHARGING COMPONENTS... But a PVL won't run lights, so there is no output for that... I had a PVL system on my TRX330ESR. It made it harder to start. It was already hard to start. I don't know what else you need to know, but if you don't know that you need it, you probably don't...
  12. Yeah, Springer, those coil overs would look good on your bike...
  13. I've done it with 4-poke pipes (on my KX450 ti Pro circuit header, for example) with good results. The ti header was easy. A thicker, stainless header took a couple tries to get the dent fully out. I'd try it, at least.
  14. I just need the brake lines--still willing to sell them seperately? If not, are the galfer banjo bolts included with lines and calipers? My original offer stands on the lines. Thanks
  15. Pm sent. I want 'em. Thx.
  16. Dude, part that sucker! You'll make more $$ and have fun doing it! LOL!
  17. PM replied. Carbs are nice and clean and ready to ship. Thanks.
  18. I'll take the billet thumb throttle (for a friend)--where do I send the payment to? And e-mail sent on frame and wiring harness.
  19. Backwards... But that's okay... No porting, no mods other than those domes and that pipe, and at that elevation, I'd start at 155 Mains and 45 pilots. You'll probably wind up at 145-148 or 150....
  20. The Banshee engine is probably heavier... What you are gaining is a light, nible, modern-handling chassis with the Banshee scream and turbo-like power... That would be the allure for me, anyway... I think its a great idea if you want something different...
  21. Mem, thanks--problem is that I have NO lights working--and a few mickey-moused splices on my harness... they bug the crap out of me! LOL!! I'd rather just drop a fresh one over it, disconnect and reconnect, and just toss the old spider web out!
  22. I used a little grease on the rings... Not a whole lot; as mentioned above, just a thin film--enough to make them sticky. I guess there is no real easy way--just go slow.
  23. I'd say if you're happy with your motor, and your bike is pulling hard, AND you have no big mods in store for the near future, LEAVE YOUR PIPES ALONE. Trust me. It's a vicious cycle... First you'll get the T5's... then you'll want to "port just a bit" to match them. BUt then the tuner will tell you to ride his bike. Then its over. You'll be hooked... You'll be looking at aggressive porting, new pistons, a stroker crank, larger carbs, a better clutch, a Cool head... See what I mean? Happy with it? Leave it alone... P.S. ---> I speak from experience... I made the mistake of riding two WildCard bikes...
  24. Wow--Nice Bike! I always wanted an '87 with those or Roll Design arms... Guys, this would make a great basis for a drag or dune bike--the J-arms are light--and he's got the right J-arms! Hmm... Do you have the title for it?
  25. Looking for a clean wiring harness--with or without CDI, etc. It is for a '97 Shee, so it is the later model. Mine has one too many splices for my taste. Hoping to get an unmolested one. Thanks! Please PM me--or post here. Thanks!
