Nitro sounds so cool compared to gas or alky. Just makes the motor sound twice the size.... My heart stops when I get to hear top fuels. I wish i could get it as a ringtone, or in my alarm clock....lol

I don't think it's worth the fuel. usually there is a very small gain from changing (raising) your compression. It simply moves your power curve further down the rpm range. you will be making more power sooner but lack on topend. i never understood why you guys go so high on the comp. That's not what a banshee motor is for. Just for an extra pony at 4k? These motors are all topend and that's it. I can understand if your entire build is based on a race fuel engine. Then you might as well go high comp., but not for drags. I guess it's all up to the guy riding it. But high comp motors are usually only put into trails bikes, or bikes with a powervalve. My gasgas 300 has wicked high comp. like 170-180psi. but that will drop way down after the exhaust valve opens. to somewhere around 120psi. also.... never spray a high comp engine with NO2. It makes for a bad day to say the least. thoughts? I know you wanna...

I say go with the alky... but add 20% nitromethane. :thumbsup: I've never heard of anyone using nitro in a cast iron sleeved motor though. So that might be out the window. :biggrin: just a thought. These guys have it pretty covered. with all the different builds on this forum I'm sure every possible way to ring out the stockers has been done. nitro has 4 times the BTU rating of gasoline. so it makes for a hot little bitch. i doubt you could run a banshee motor for more than 20 seconds at full throttle before shee melts down like chirnoble (sp)

My stroker kit (795 series pistons) came with the wrong circlips. That ended up being a pain in the rump. at the very least the pistons are peened with the real size in MM

Agreed! I've almost killed people because of text messages and how they DON'T convey emotions.... I tell you guys what... I'm more than just alittle serious about doing this! I know some people have a bad opinion of me, but I'm sure I can turn a first class product out with the right materials. If your looking for a set of carbon full bores. I could do it for less than the originals. Probably around $175-200 depending on how much material is needed.(full or race style) I just need to pull molds from these plastics so I can replicate them. I almost have enough to get started on mine. i'll be posting some pics here in a week or 2 with the process I'll be using. If you like the finished product I will make more than one set for sale to you guys here on the HQ. :thumbsup: I've found almost every color you can imagine... even pink for you ladies. That why the clutch isn't on a needle bearing. Journal bearings are much better for things like this because of problems like out of round plates and poor castings... blah blah Don't worry about it. I found some carbon/colored kevlar material for 34.95 per yard (50" wide though) which makes it the perfect size for the rears. Might need a bit more for the fronts. i wanna make a full front though not just a race face. I need fenders on my trails. I've been really going through this and what I'll need to do it right. I've learned quite a bit watching my bro do 3-d shit. It's extremely hard to do without a "real" mold. Which would be made from aluminum, and an autoclave (vacuum oven) do make them super tough. From what I've been reading epoxy resin is super flexable. So this could work out pretty good. It was covered in the article of course. we have huge airbags at work we use to keep the pallets of sauce from dumping over. These work AWESOME as a vacuum bag because they are thick vynil. even a small pump does a good job. A 200w heat lamp and a carbon mold to pull from....bada-bing. All for about $250 in materials and crap. I can't wait to give it the green light.
