  1. YEAH!!!! you should really think about getting a drz400sm!!!! If you have no place to ride like myself then you can have your cake and eat it too with a supermoto. My best friend just bought one and now I'm selling my gasgas quad to do the same. I still have the banshee but it's nothing like just getting on a bike and tearing up the roads and then rippin' off road somewhere. He loves it.... and I think I will too. I do have a trail system near my house but it's a state park and NO motorized vehicles are allowed.... But since I stopped giving a shit and went riding anyways, it doesn't really matter to me anymore. I just don't stop for the man anymore. We've been riding the lehigh valley railroad since they took the tracks up in the early 80's. And 4 years ago they turned it into a state park. now the DEC are all over it. But that didn't stop me from still riding. I just go out at night after they go home for the day. It sux but.... like you said bro.... NO MORE TRAILS LEFT!!! EAT SHIT NEW YORK!!!!!! Anyone else have the same shit happen to their trails?
  2. if oil from the gears is leaking into the lower crank area it has nothing to do with the crank seals and everything to do with the case not making a seal. the crank bearings and seals are no where near the gear oil.... You'll have to split the cases and see whats going on. Besides how the hell can he tell if it's smoking engine oil or 2stroke premix..... he must have a better nose than most drug dogs....!!!!!
  3. I would start by looking into the carbs. If they are not opening at the exact same time then they need to be sync'd... then throw some new plugs in there and try again. if still nothing changes then look at the reeds and make sure they are all still in one peice. if it's good then, maybe it's time for a rebiuld... or even check to make sure the coil/plug wires are on tight. Check back when your done with these....
  4. hey yzfdunejumper.... what's the deal with these straight cuts...? You have to buy the kicker gear too? I'm having a hard time remembering what that kicker gear meshes with.
  5. yeah try putting an "http:// in front first..... like this.... http://www.youtube.com/turbobanshee420
  6. "popping" or "backfiring" is ALWAYS a lean condition. If you heard it pop then it's running out of fuel at the top of the hill. most likely in the same spot becuase you are starting with the same amount of fuel at the bottom. Try raising the fuel level by 4mm. bend the float tab down a c-hair... ( the small tab on the flaot bracket that pushes the seat closed) but watch out that you don't turn the carbs over before securing the pin that holds them on. YOU WILL LOSE IT! If it leaks gas when you turn the fuel back on when your done then you bent the tab too far down and the fuel won't stop porring in the bowls.
  7. Here is a sneak peek of it firing up for the first time.... www.youtube.com/turbobanshsee420 I'm just waiting on the drive coupling for the oil pump to be finished and I can start really tuning without worrying about oil for the turbo. i had a temp coupling on there but i didn't trust it enough to do any tuning. I won't have time to do anything else until the middle of july. I'm working the next 17 days strait....yeah no 4th for me... But I'm just as anxious as the rest of you guys. I can't wait til' the first real dyno pull!!! Subsribe to my youtube channel and get e-mail'd updates on new vids as I post them...
  8. yeah that's no doubt the same kit as trick racing. but aerochargers are no longer made anymore. they had tons of them keep coming back blown up because they have no way to cool the oil inside of them. Not bad for 15 years old technology though.
  9. take the clutch off your 70cc china POS and drill some 1/8 or 1/4" holes in the clutch weights to lighten them up. That will put the poop back in your POS! haha... yeah one holeshotin' POS I would say that 50 should still move in the sand. Maybe even pretty good! if not put a single stock banshee carb on it and a slip-on pipe. It's pretty cheap to soup those mini-quads up. Just keep an ebay frame of mind.
  10. LMAO!!!! the fart can is part of a joke.... but on the plus side it keeps it quiet (since I ride beween 10pm-5am) and later down the road I'm gunna use propane to blow some flames @ WOT..haha I love a good show don't u? It also is a good item to make people wonder "what's under the hood"
  11. Under tank view before injector harness is in. Intermediate pipe into turbo without the flange welded yet... then on... PISSED!!!! Look at all the shit under that 6.0gal tank... it all fits perfect! This is the way shee was before I tore it down.... ran great too.... Now this is what I'll see.....BOOST! I'd say all of that was worth it to me, even though I haven't ridden it with any kind of a tune. Because when it comes down to it.... I did it all the hard way to see if I could. well I did it, and I learned a fuck load of shit to boot. In the end.... and here me good on this one boyz and gurlz.... I will make you guys a "how to" sticky worthy of the banshee gods! I'll simplify it down to the minimum and write it all down for you all to enjoy. After all, it's 2007.... bring your banshee into the new world of EFI bikes and walk all over them. and never have to tune again! I hope I've givin you ALL something to think about. This should only cost you about $600-700 to do fuel only control and on a scale of 1-10... I'd say a 6... because you need to be able to use a welder or mill in some cases to make a fuel rail. Or not... depends on what injectors are on the tb's. It will all be covered later on. Stay Tuned ~ TurboBanshee420
  12. here are some pics of the stator I wound up with 14 gauge for 3 phase so I could get all available power for fuel pump and battery charging, with some left over for killer lights and some other goodies.... here it is next to the stocker crap. and the TB's in the middle of seperating them... then done....not as easy as it seemed downdraft... http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa158/T...-12-07_1639.jpg plenum I whipped up at work with some .040 stainless.... I had to modify the ford EDIS 36-1 toothed wheel to fit over the flywheel hub.... .0025 interferance fit, no bolts or jbweld here! Notice I'm pionting out the missing tooth, hence 36t minus 1 (36-1)
  13. yup that's the oil pump you see me holding up in the pics I posted on my first post. Basically it's just a oil pump from a suzuki quadrunner 300 and I had my father spin me off a slug to bolt it to. He also had the idea of putting the oil fittings on the top side (edge) and run oil ports to bring the oil up top so I don't kick off the fittings during a rough run down the trail. I'm glad to get a good response here. I've been watching everything on the turbo banshee topic for 5 years. I gave it a whirl a couple years back with carbs and had NO luck at all. It seems I couldn't get enough fuel in there when the turbo boosted up. No matter how I set it up. It would just blow right through the carb so fast that no fuel would get sucked in with it. That's the beauty about EFI. Not only do I not have give a shit about what size bores I can use for intake, but I can forget about worrying about tuning all the time. If people are using it (megasquirt) on 400hp busa's then my little 2 stroke won't be hard for it to keep under control. To answer someones question.... I used the 38mm throttle bodies off a 05 gsxr. The only thing about these are they have to be cut apart and machined to use for the width of a banshee motor. I will post pics when I can get to my own computer in a couple hours. That other guy "whitey" took the easy road and found some tb's that you can seperate. I recommend doing this if you want to duplicate the efi system without using a mill and taking alot of extra time making your own tb's. The only reason I used the gsxr tb's is because they don't have a vacuum secondary. Suzuki uses a computer controlled secondary which is easy to take off. That way I didn't have to take extra room away from all the turbo crap. I also turned the intake upside down so it's kind of like a downdraft system. giving me the room I needed to put the plenum downtube from the MAF in their. I have NO room left inside the frame for anything as you might be able to see in the video. I'm going to have to make another video showing it all as it looks now. Much less cluttered now with it all cleaned up and organized. but you get the picture... As for the MAF it off a mustang. I had to use this because 2 strokes DON'T HAVE A MAP READING. due to the fact that the engine is open from front to back when the piston is at BDC. So with the MAF measuring all the air going in it doesn't have to estimate the amount in there. Giving me about 1000% better running engine. Plus under boost it reads the EXACT amount of air going in. That pretty much takes care of all the "TUNING" issues I might have run into with a lesser system. Considering it started up with no vacuum line hooked up and the timing 40 degrees retarded...oh also I had no power to the WB O2 sensor. I'd say I'm not going to have too many problems getting it to run very good. Shee WANTS to run good...lol ok that's enough for now til' I can get some more pics on here for you guys. I'll check back in a couple hours.... I have to actual work to do here @ work...lmao ~ TurboBanshee420
  14. read sig for bike info...
  15. I've seen it done before with stock motors... www.trickracing1.com But this motor has been worked to the fullest inside. I could tell ya but then I'd have to.... well ya know. After I get the tune closer I'll be pushing the turbo to it peak efficiency of 76% @ 30psi. Then we'll see what a banshee motor can really do before it either breaks a rod or pops a piston. (Which I'm secretly counting on so I can get a cub to throw on their...don't tell the wife!) At this piont I have about 1500 into the internals....4mm longrod wiseco crank and ceramic coatings.... blah blah blah. But as one of you guys said.... it never enough. I'm looking for the kind of power that will break gears and clutch baskets.... not just a fast banshee. I already had that when I started. It made 59hp at the wheels before it was fully broken in. (I have a dyno) then I put some shearers and 34mmpj's on there and made 66.4hp which is really good as far as REAL #'s. I see alot of people out there guessing or even putting their bikes on a dynojet (junk) and spoiting off about how they put some pipes on and made 90hp blah blah... Well.... "Dynomite" is all I have to say on that one. come on over and try to turn my 4000lb roll and see how much those dynojets are off. (15%) I'm just waiting on my oil pump drive dog to be completed on the CNC and I'm off to the dyno for some tuning and maybe a run or 2. I'll have some #'s hopefully by the 4th. you can bet your bottom dollar I'll be posting those right here. I'm glad alot of you guys can appreciate what i've done so far. I'll make a new post when I have the time and explain it all soon. I usually have lots of time to play around like that at work. I'll get back to ya'll on that one. read up on this for those of you guys who want to make your shee EFI! IT'S SOOOO EASY A CAVE MAN CAN DO IT!!!!!! I made mine completely controlled by the megasquirt. spark and fuel! NO MORE CDI!!!! WWW.MSEFI.COM click on the megamanuel link to read from start to finish how to do it. L8r guys ~ TurboBanshee420
  16. all valid points boyz. But I've been around the block myself and I can garentee that this bike won't be "finiky" at all. EFI is the shit! and this turbo banshee will be making close to 160hp. more than enough for you cheetah guys. L8r folks... more to come
  17. Hello guys! This is the 100th time I've made a new profile on BHQ since I keep forgetting the passwords and ID's. Anyways I was just wondering why nobody is building turbo banshee's with all the tech out there to make it easier so..... I built one to show you all how easy it can be... www.youtube.com/turbobanshee420 Really! with things out there like megasquirt and ebay to help get it done cheap. Why not right!!! If you want to see more you'll have to wait til' I make more video's this weekend hopefully. oil pump.... driven from my lockout. Stay Tuned!!! more to come...
