I'm all hopped up on mountain dew. I love that movie

Im sure some of the experts will chime in, but i was under the impression that 150psi was about the max safe compression on 93. you may want to get a set of 21cc domes.

REDUCE THE SIZE OF YOUR SIG PICS GUYS !
rubberneck replied to RZBansheeMan's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Agreed, It sucks to have to scroll over and i also have a wide panel monitor. -
Yeah, I thought about it, but I am just a little nervous because i had heard if you back load them too much too often you can bend shift forks.
-
Yeah, I'm kind of nervous to be honest with you. Obviously you can get jacked up on a stock bike if you dont pay attention, or just plain have shitty luck. I know that this thing will now have enough power to get me in trouble in a hurry. Yesterday when the wife got home, she asked how come I had a stupid grin on my face. I just said Oh i just thought of a funny joke. LOL A few weeks ago, I told her i was going to order some parts to "rebuild my motor since it blew" She has no idea whats coming in the mail. LOL I am currently running 21-12-8 x 8 paddle regular haulers. Im going to keep these since I just have the +2 swinger and see if I can manage. I figure the first trip out will just be for shake down and adjustment anyway. I can get used to how the bike feels and see if I am going to go to +4. I just dont want to go any longer than that because I like to run the whoops and jump and just plain dune. Never been in to drag racing, but never had a bike that was fast enought to race anyway. Maybe I will start doing it more now. who knows. We ended up going to 20cc domes. Jeff said normally he would run 21, but because i am going to be duning it, we went up on compression a little. He felt that the loss on top would be negligible and the little extra compression should help me for what I want to do in the mid range. We're aiming for around 180 psi Jeff is going to do a clean up on it, but no drag porting. I am trying to keep as much on the mid range as I can

200 lbs

LOL yeah, you're probably right. Jeff asked me if my current bike was ported and I said no. He said, going from what you had to this new motor, you are in for quite a nice surprise. LOL I think that might be a gross misunderstatment Rippen, how long of a swinger do you run??
-
Well, I have decided to dedicate my 95 to the sand. With that in mind, instead of just rebuilding it, I decided to jump in with both feet. Talked to Jeff for about and hour and a half today. Ended up going with 4mil CUB with a clean up port, 39pwk's and Shearer inframes plus all the goodies to go along with it. Pretty stoked to get everything and start putting her together. Going to try and get the old motor torn down this week and get everything cleaned up and ready to go. Picking up an RZ bottom end from a friend. Im going to see about using the shift forks and drum in my tranny. Didnt do the override or lock up because i want to try and keep this thing more of a duner and not strictly drag bike. Who knows, well see where I end up. LOL Looks like i might be selling my new +2 swinger to my brother and going longer. Im going to try it any way and see how much of a handfull it turns out to be. I figure if i keep it a little under- tired I might be able to manage. I guess I'll find out. Either that or i'll end up in a body cast and then it wont matter. LOL

Im in the market right now for a new head. I like the idea of less orings, less places for leaks is always a good thing in my book. Keep us posted on how the head works for you guys that have them.

You have to register the old frame through the DMV, but you cant tell them what you are doing. Just get the old frame registered as if it were a complete bike, then swap all your stuff over. No one will be the wiser. On paper, and in the DMV you will now be riding a 2002 or whatever year bike, with all your new stuff. Just sell your 06 frame with title or hang on to it what ever you want.

Stay out of my Highjacked thread LOL. Firehead, must have turbo. Turbos sound to cool to be ignored.

intake questions...need some expertice
rubberneck replied to qboronyrican's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
when you use v-force with stock intakes, you have to cut part of the stock intakes off. The back side of the stock intakes protrudes in to the intake tract. You have to cut that protrusion off. Once you get it off, you will see exactly what im talking about. I used a realy sharp knife and cut it off (its rubber) worked great. I dont know if stuffers will offer a performance advantage if you stick with the stock intakes as the v-force cage matches up to the diameter of the stock intakes. -
Firehead, I assume it would be a turbo diesel to get the needed HP. What would you use for an injection pump? Do you think the bottom end could handle the violence of the diesel combustion cycle? I would fuckin get wood if I saw a banshee rippin through the dunes blowin black smoke out the back. I love diesels.

Snop, do you happen to know what kind of wait time Patriot has?? Does he only do complete builds, or will he port my cylinders? I would like to do the assembly myself. I was looking at his motor packages and recomendations on his site and am interested. His web site makes it look like his plate is pretty full. I too am looking for a builder, just gun shy at this point. A lot of the local guys around here are of the bigger is better theory with carbs, pipes, and porting and that is not what i want at this point. I just want a really strong running snappy motor that is reliable and will kick the shit out of my buddies RZ powered shee. I hear so many horror stories about bikes that run like shit, run hot, or the reliability has gone to shit i just cant pull the trigger and send my parts off just yet.

Ditto. have one of the billet ones, also have one of the TM design ones. The TM is a really nice unit.

I have used a lot of different cleaners/oils. IMHO for a foam filter, the best is the honda shit which is made by Notoil. So you can get the notoil or the Honda, same shit. Works great and is available in an aerosol which makes it nice to apply the oil evenly. leaves a nice sticky film of oil and the cleaner takes it out really easily. Nothing gets by that stuff. I use it on everything from the nitro RC cars to the lawnmower and my bikes with foam cleaners.

Yeah, they can run off a fanny pack battery, or be wired to the bike with a quick disconnect. I was thinking it would be nice to not have to wear the battery/fanny pack. I suppose i could put an mr16 on the bars, and 2 of the monsters up above down low running off the bike, and one on the helmet powered off its own battery..

About the only thing I can think negative is the fact that your economy is about 1/2, so you dont go very far on a tank of fuel. You have to purge at the end of each day or the meth will absorb moisture fromt the atmosphere and create havoc in the carbs. Other than that I think you nailed down the positive.
-
Does it happen to be the right side that is smoking? If so check the tranny fluid level. if its low you could have a bad crank seal and its sucking oil out of the trans into the right cylinder.

I ended up at 6 pos caster and 2 neg camber, 1/8 inch toe in. Bike handles great. I didnt run the 4 neg camber because at that setting there seemed to be some binding in the steering when at full droop and turned max left or right.

Whats your favorite past time beside shee's

This is a shot of my Traxxas REVO. I have 2 REVOS and a nitro 4tec, and a tmaxx. This one is a 2.5 chassis with swept back A-arms and a 3.3 motor. Everything not needed like reverse, has been removed or lightened, and it has all the normal aluminum and titanium hopups. My other REVO is getting a picco .26 on a 3.3 chasis with just about everything titanium that Lunsford makes. I haven't been playing with it much lately, been spending all my free time on the Banshee. Plus they suck to tune and get to run consistantly when the temps are cold outside. I also love to play with my hotrod Dodge Cummins diesel. Black smoke makes me horny. -
Man o man you aren't kidding. I really like riding any time I can, but nothing beats the sand. Leaving for pismo in 36 days 4 hours and 10 minutes. Headed to winchester bay in 133 days 4 hours and 10 minutes. Not that Im keeping track or anything LOL

During winter at least 300-310 mains, 25 pilots, 1.5 turns on air screws 3rd to 4th clip from blunt on needle. summer when it is warmer may be able to drop down a couple of sizes on main jet, but will need to check plugs to verify.

There is a kick ass place about 30 min past jackson called PiPi valley. It is officially called the gold note trail system i believe. Anyway, there are a bunch of fire roads and small tight trails mostly for bikes, but we ride the quads on them. Lots of fun, and the camping is great. Its up in the forrest, so its pretty cool. anyway, here is the directions they have on thumpertalk. you might want to signup on thumpertalk, as they have a kick ass section called "where to ride" and its broken down by state. My buddy rides at PiPi all the time, and i have been there a few times with him. check it out Directions: * Highway 88 from Jackson - travel east 27 miles, turn left onto Omo Ranch Road, then 0.7 miles to the intersection with North-South Road (Primary Route 6). Proceed down this road 1.8 miles to the intersection with roads 8N59 and 10N83S (Route 33). This is the first access point to Route 33 (Gold Rush). Travel another 0.7 mile to Five Corners from which you can gain access to the north half of Route 33 and also to Route 35 (PiPi Grade) and other parts of the system Oh yeah, i live in ripon, just north of you a few miles, and I can make it there in 90 minutes.
