I grew up on three and four wheelers and had a 1999 banshee years ago and loved it. Eventually, some friends of mine convinced me that I was missing out because I didn't ride on two wheels like all of them so I sold it and picked up a nice YZ426. I rode it for a couple of years and had fun, but was never as comfortable as I was on four wheels. Soooooooooooooooo...... here's what I brought home a couple of months ago.
2006 50th Anniv. Edition
I rode it in circles in the driveway for about ten minutes with my son (not exactly a proper break-in), then I parked it and started spending money on it!
So far I've added/changed the following:
Toomey TR6 pipes (Thanks RagunCajun)
Toomey 2:1 intake w/outerwear
Air box removal
Relocated coolant overflow
Dynojet jet kit (waste of money) I only used the needles.
310 mains
27.5 pilots
1.5 turns out
T.O.R.S. removal kit
Idle screw kit
Clear radiator lines (not too sure how well they will hold up)
Race cut fenders
Skat Trak 8 paddle extreme haulers
More to come...
I left my 99 completely stock and enjoyed the hell out of it. Hopefully, I'll see a fair improvement over stock with these mods. I haven't done a plug chop yet, but will as soon as I have the time. I am hoping that I am right on with the jetting. I did my homework on that and think I'll be pretty close. I really debated cutting my brand new fenders. I think it looks good now that it's dne. Now, If I could just find time to ride! Any suggestions as to what should come next? I have a habit of spending a WHOLE LOT more time modding than riding. Don't even get me started on my wife's Rhino or the toy hauler. I can't even recall how many hours I've spent doing whatever to those!! Oh well, I guess as long as this is all I'm addicted to, I'm good........ right???
