anybody happen to have a set of the yfz calipers kicking around? ive been wanting to do this for a while now.
-
do you run a skid plate? sounds like you might have bent the sproket or hub.
-
i run 15/41 and 22s. its much better for not getting hung up. my skid plate hangs lower than most, so it helped a lot. especially in snow and rutted hill climbs. 1st is like 2nd was before with 13/41 and 20s. i rarely used first though so its fine for me. only one short section here that first is a bit to fast for.

i have fmfm sst's and i like them. i havent owned any other pipes, but when we both had only pipes and k&n filter, mine hit quite a bit harder, on an older motor. the fattys have a nice smooth pull, where the sst's give a yank kinda. bottom end seems good too, as far as banshees go lol. supposedly t6s are best for a stock motor, but ive never really been a fan of toomey. dont know why, seems like good stuff  if i were to buy new pipes they would be dmc 916s

buy some of those lowering links for the front. i saw some the other day on here that move the bottom of the shock out. all the good dirtbike motocross guys use holeshot devices to hold the forks down a bit. these links would be easily removable too. i wouldnt do any agressive riding with the lower front, because of hitting stuff, and i would imagine it would handle funny with the rake.

looking good  i wish these things were street legal here. i would just ride around the roads all day lol. like squirrel master said, high speed pursuits arent as fun as they sound. a good adrenaline rush, thats for sure, but having cops swarming your neighborhood for months after is less than awesome.

what about for hill climbs? i trail ride, but spend a lot of time climbing hills. like steeep stuff. anyone have this done and climb hills?
-
did you not read what everyone has to say about these kits? :ermm:

chances are your axle nuts are loose. they are the big nuts on the left side of the carrier. i dont have a wrench big enough so i use a pipe wrench. wrecks the nuts, but whatever, it works

No Heel Guards, Who Doesn't Run Em

mine have saved me. i landed with one foot totally on it at the mx track once. its nice for doubling because they have somewhere to put their feet too. if you ever take girls riding leave em on, or at least put em back on for the day. -
FAST almost gave me a heart attack this morning

my gf texted me at work today saying she was pregnant. except she blew it by the fact that she texted me that kind of info, and she said jk hapy april fools in the same text. failure at fooling me, but it was kinda funny. -
mine does that too. my pipe hanger is a little broken so that might be why. it could be the springs that hold it to the head too. try rotating them if they are rubbing the pipe.
-
ive heard that they are smoother hitting, and rev higher. mostly just because i think theyre cool though. is this a try before you trade kinda deal? if you can then trade for a day and see if you like them
-
ive never ridden a bike with either pipe, but i would be inclined to go for the pt's, as long as theyre in good shape.
-
i have the knarly xc 22'. they hook up awesome in everything but true sand, the stuff where you should have paddles lol they seem to be holding up well too. lots of pavement riding lately too. they do really well in snow too if that matters where you live. i have heard nothing good about holeshots, other than they hook up like nothing else for about the first hour or 2 of riding

mine has .020 taken off and for now im using 89 octane, at or near sea level. no timing advance on this gas though:(

how much does i cost to bring a bike into canada
shee rips replied to shee rips's topic in General Banshee Discussion
i guess i need a different email for that site. but i did some prowling and it looks like its the thing to do. quads that go for 13k up here can be shipped here and everything for like 9 something :: f'in canadian stealerships anyways. gotta pick me up a couple of something or another down there this summer. -
i used copper kote on mine. the manual doesnt call for anything, but i was told that stuff would help it seal up better. just use a light coat though. dont want it getting in the coolant.
-
maybe its the stroker crank splashing more oil up there or something like that  on another note, he probably need stiffer valve springs if he has a real agressive cam.
-
haha i went riding  buddy threw a chain and busted his case at the bottom, lost all the oil. :yucky: good ride other than that.
-
the oil i use is black. i can see it when i pour it even with marked gas. if the oil was red or something then you couldnt tell, but i bet you can see it as you pour the gas.

my friend has one. my favorite color sceme of any year. -
this is the stuff i use. my dad uses it in his chainsaws too, and they run way hotter than a banshee. on the back it says to mix to the manufacturers specs, and it gives a chart up to 100:1 for different amounts of gas. we run it at 32:1 in everything, except the boat which is at 50:1 says its for any air or water cooled 2 stroke. everyone thinks im c razy for using it, but i have no reason to change it. we get it from co-op.

How much time are you getting on a tank
shee rips replied to mlarkin_09's topic in General Banshee Discussion
thats a shit load of gas unless you have like a 10 mil drag port lol. are your cylinders ported? with the bolt ons, i can get over 100 km out of a tank if i just cruise in high gear. normal riding i get probably 4 hours of solid riding. 2 to 3 hours if im givin er shit the entire time. my carbs overflow if im on a side hill, or doing donuts on the road you can see a bit of gas when the roads wet. maybe yours only leak when the bikes moving/ sloshing around so you dont notice. just a thought -
i run 32:1 and its no special brand oil, but my motors still look good every time they are apart. i just carry spare plugs with me. i fouled one on my dirtbike in the middle of but fuck nowhere, luckily some campers were nearby and bummed us a rope to tow me home, but since then spare plugs stay with the bike. another idea if its not the oil foluling your plugs, is to take the snorkel off the airbox. that would let a little more air.
