  1. Technically I live in Lima, Ohio, but I'm from Troy MI, and frequent there at least twice a month. And there's no way in hell I'll swear allegiance to the buckeye.... I have a cabin near Lewiston so I'm always up there riding also. Thats the place to go for some kick ass trail riding in lower MI.
  2. I mean floating the ground on the stator and wiring a rectifier in. It's the same mods as if you were going to run a battery but you don't need it with the solstice led's. Floating the ground takes 20 mins, it's really not that big of a deal. Just up the idle very slightly at night so they don't flicker at idle and you're good to go. Yeah, they're the square ones. They cost a nudge over $200 for 2 but have been worth every penny so far. This is not the greatest picture at all but it's the only one I have at the moment. This is in pitch black woods in the middle of nowhere and slightly uphill. The picture doesn't do justice at all to how bright just 2 are. I'll be adding 2 more eventually.
  3. I tried wally mart lights and only had trouble time and time again at the most inopportune times. With a stock stator, they're just never bright enough either. If you ride at night as much as I do, save yourself lots of frustration and pm Snop for a set of the solstice led lights in spot beam patters. They'll run off just a dc conversion, no battery needed. They're slightly expensive in comparison, but are the single best mod I've ever done to my bike. They're absolutely stupid bright and don't change brightness with rpm.
  4. Well congratulations then. I've just never seen it mentioned or done on here since I've been a member. I never said I was the first. It's something easy that anyone with decent fab skills can do that makes a hell of an improvement.
  5. Finally uploaded the pics from my last riding trip. They're definitely bright though; everyone side or rearview mirrors hated riding in front of me haha. The only thing that would make the setup better would be to put a spot on the handlebars (or helmet like snop did). On a side note, with just a dc conversion and no battery, they worked great. Just turn the idle up slightly at night. This is the only pic I remembered to take of the lights. It's in total pitch black and slightly uphill. I'll grab one tonight out in the yard.
  6. Thanks . I've always looked at stock swingarms and wondered why no one else has done it. It only took 10 mins with an angle grinder to open the "C" up enough for the tube to drop in. Measure 10 times and weld it. The first time I adjusted the chain, it made me wonder why I didn't do it years ago .
  7. I originally did this just for the roundhouse conversion but it ended up shortening it by about 3/4". Can't really say I noticed a huge difference though. I think I'm going to build a +2 next year to see what I like better. Sorry for the big pics.
  8. I told you pt's rock . You should try a set of high rev's sometime.
  9. I've been extremely pleased with WSM's myself also. Who stocks them other than TDR?
  10. I'm not a huge fan of my pj either. It runs great once it's jetted in, but I can't get lean enough pilot to keep it from loading up and fouling plugs when i'm out riding with buggies/trucks and I have to do a lot of putting. But I paid a case of beer for it so I can't complain . I have 2 R6 throttle bodies on the shelf that'll fix that problem though .
  11. Sounds something like this? That's the music of straight cuts
  12. I love my pt high rev's. Last set of pipes I'll ever put on my bike. I'm running them with PC spark arrestor silencers and they sound wicked. Have plenty of low end pull and rev out great. I just like actually being able to change plugs on a hot motor without having to wear welding gloves.
  13. About bloody time! After having broke a gear almost every year, I'll be picking one of these up .
  14. I can vouch for the pt high-rev's fitting. I lent mine to a local guy that did an rz swap. He said they fit like a dream.
  15. I'd kill for that motor combo. If only I had $600 laying around .
  16. Holy bejeezus . I picked up a spot and a euro and mounted them in stock location. I'm extremely impressed to say the least. They're bright as all hell. I'll take some pics of them this weekend out riding.
  17. Stiff for a 225lb guy?! Damn . I have works dual rates on my front sprung and valved for my skinny 160lbs and it rides like a cadillac. Definitely send them off to get revalved/resprung.
  18. Possible; yes. Easy; no. Expensive; you bet. If you wanted to do it, go all out. Get an aerocharger, get some R6 throttle bodies, and use Microsquirt to run them. That way there's no messing around with oil pumps, lines, or tanks and no messing with trying to tune blow through carbs.
  19. x2. I have a set in my bike with nothing but great results so far. WSM pistons are made by Wossner GmbH in germany. They're make engine parts for for various bmw, benz, porsche, and audi's. They're right on par with Mahle or any other top name european company.
  20. Heard back from Electrex the other day. Their stator has two 100w circuits. Why is it so hard to make a quality 200w+ stator with ONE circuit like Ricky Stators?
  21. Anyone interested at all?
  22. Why couldn't you have mentioned you had these when I did my arms haha. I had to shell out $45 bucks for the reamer to get the moog joints to fit the spindles . Oh well, I'll hit you up next time! I just did 2 sets of arms for a local guy the other week. He's done 2 xc races with them so far and couldn't be happier. Mine have taken everything so far without hiccup. I'm going on a riding trip in 2 weeks to eastern ohio for some mountain riding; it'll be some more "durability testing".
  23. I got the moog joints from the local O'Rieley's for 16 sumthing a piece. Had to order them in, but had them the next day.
  24. Bump. Price is OBO.
  25. For pipes, definitely go with flat black paul turner high revs for "stock" appearing. I can't tell you how many people have gone "wow, you're running stock pipes man? "
